I think the limit was $10 but I didnt exactly follow it.  I ordered mine online so I justified it by saying my person shouldnt have to pay for my laziness and I am personally paying for the convenience. Big Smile

Oops, I thought it was $15. Oh well, my person just gets something more because I am not good at remembering things. Stick out tongue

  • I thought it was $15 too.  Oh well, it's just a little over, but it's cute so it's worth it.
  • Leslie-  How was the boarding experience for Titan?  Tell me all about that place....good, bad and ugly!

I could be wrong, I am bad in general with budgets of any kind so yeah.

Unfortunately, I can't help you. :) My sister volunteered to stay with him last minute, so went that direction instead. I fully plan to use them next time we travel though, so I'll let you know!

I think mine was acutally $17, so don't feel bad. With wrapping and tax I'm in it for $20, which makes me terrible. I'm sorry but it was too cute for me not to do it!!!

  • Man, I envy you girls who have your Christmas stuff up.  I'm still not entirely unpacked in the new apartment, so I haven't gotten my tree up.

Leslie, I don't want to stick my nose where it doesn't belong, but have you considered going to a doctor who is specifically NFP/FAM?  I don't know how long you've been TTC so I don't know what all you've done, but a doc who studies either of those BC methods might be able to suggest some less invasive/less expensive tests before you go and spend all that money.  I know of two in the Dallas area and I could get you their info if you wanted it.

  • imagelesalyric:

Jaymi - Not to be up in your business, but it sounds like you might have an ovarian cyst. Do you feel pain in your lower back and into your upper leg on the side of the pain? If so, you almost positively do. The dr won't be able to do much for you other than a round of BCP to shrink it down if it's large. If you continue to feel the pain after your period, you need to go see the doctor anyway because that generally means the cyst is not functional and needs to be checked out to rule out more serious conditions.

Regardless we only had to stay two days and the rest of the weekend was good. I read all three Hunger Games books. I bought my ornament for my exchange Nestie - side note -- what was the limit? Embarrassed

We got bad news about infertility testing and our insurance, so I am heavily considering holding it off until March. It sucks but we don't have $5000 extra without breaking into our emergency fund and I am just not willing to do that right now.

Feel free to be all up in my business because I have been going through all the various things that it could possibly be!  I knew you and Deepthi just went through this so I'm glad to have your input because that's what I was guessing it was.  My right leg does hurt, mostly in the upper region but I don't recall having any back pain.  I'm actually not on my period right now but it lasted over 2 weeks this month (it was also my first since this summer and my first since I switched BCP).

This is the first year I have ever stuck to a limit (well, within reason- a couple extra bucks as opposed to doubling it).  I still have this nagging feeling to do more, though, but I won't.

Sorry about the bad news regarding your insurance :(

You're probably right!  I have another ornament exchange and I could have been thinking of that amount instead.

We have been using the FAM taught in TCOYF for nine cycles but I am not willing to rule out anything that might help without the use of crazy fertility meds. Can you FB their names? Thank you.

If you guys are curious about the details of the fertility testing stoppage - my post on GP is here.

Jaymi - I generally feel mine around O time - when I was on birth control I generally felt them around the two weeks post period mark as well. Most of the time you will feel them from then until your period and then they will go away if they are functional. The only real risk of just leaving it alone until then is if it is a very large cyst you can twist your ovary, but that is rare. If the pain becomes worse or starts to feel like burning or tearing or if you see any blood externally on the TP (sorry other girls - TMI!) you should head to the dr because you may be dealing with a burst cyst, which in some cases can cause internal bleeding.

Another thing to warn you about, just in case this happens so you don't freak out - large ovarian cysts can also begin to secrete their own hormones mimicing pregnancy. Your period would be late, you would have nausea, pregnancy symptoms, etc. The first tim this happened to me I freaked out. My doctor said it just happens sometimes and only BCP can be used to make it stop. Just a warning in case it happens. :)

  • I have been bad and not bought my ornament yet, but don't worry, secret ornament pal, it'll be a good one!  I love buying pretty ornaments!

Leslie - I'm sorry about the insurance news - that's a big bummer.  Hopefully by the time March rolls around, it'll be a non-issue Wink

I just had a philly cheesesteak from my office cafeteria... it was delish.  That is a bad, bad discovery... but, I justified it, because I actually lost a little weight over the last week without tracking anything, so I was proud.  Maybe I'll make a good choice tonight for dinner.

Not saying it will be true for you but I realized the hard way a few months ago that this is the most slippery of slippery slopes when it comes to dieting. The "I got this..." mentality did me in. I guess pride goeth before a fall, right? Wink

Good job on the weight loss regardless though.

  • Hello!!!

Wow -- lots of excitement after the long weekend. I am so freakin' tired. We had four houseguests - three are gone and the last one heads out tomorrow morning. It was fun, but such an incredible amount of work.

The thing that really peeved me was DH's cousin (the one who stayed for A WEEK). He hasn't lifted a finger to help the entire week, offered to pay for a single thing - seriously awful houseguest. I kind of knew it would be like that, but was hoping since his daughter stayed with us for awhile that he would step up. Nope.

It was just frustrating and made for some awkward moments. I can completely understand not having the money to pay for things -- but if that is the case, then you should not be the one to suggest going out for dinner, order three beers, and then all of a sudden disappear when the check comes. Tacky.

So yeah. I am excited to have my house back....

did say she wants a new case for her ipad. Any idea where to get a cute one? Especially with bling? She loves bling.

    Etsy.  ;)

Oh, duh. Lacey, your'e so smart :)

I giggle a little inside every time someone uses O as an abbreviation for ovulation. Because I don't read it as ovulation, lol.

ETA: I haven't purchased my ornament yet, but I already know where I'm going and I'm excited, they have some perfect ornaments.

  • I am mad at myself because I kept reminding myself to sign up for the ornament exchange/PWAT at night, and I would forget and get busy the next day.

Coach has some very nice ones.  Some are leather ($200) but they have others that are $100.  If you get emails from them, they have a coupon for taking 25% off your total purchase through the 13th I think.

  • I'm pretty sure the ornament exchange limit is $10.  I ordered mine from etsy (of course), so with shipping, wrapping, etc, it's going to be more than $10.

It's also not here, yet.  This freaks me out a little.  :)  But, I made sure before I ordered it, that it would be here in time, so I will postpone my freak out until Thursday.  I do not have a back up plan.

  • My ornament came from a regular store, but it is a very nice ornament!   I'm tempted to keep it, actually.

I guess I don't muster the same enthusiasm as some of you ladies because one way or another I always manage to get burned on these things.  I know that won't happen this year, but still.

Yeah, it would be a bummer to get burned but as long as the person I picked is excited about hers I will be cool with it.

Honestly, I am more excited about seeing everyone and getting my paint on. Y'all are going to be blown away by my mad skillz. (Yeah, right!)

Also: Does anyone get emails from Gap?  Their coupon code for Cyber Monday is "HUGECYBER," which I found really humorous.

I lol'd with that, when I got the email. :p

Robyn offered to be Meri's surrogate if she was interested in having another child. I had just finished explaining to DH that Meri was infertile and we were discussing how hard that must be in a family like that when she offered. I promptly cried.

  • Ok, this is really sad. Last night surfing on my iPhone before bed I could  have sworn I saw an image like Dorothy's picture on the rocking horse, on our not so favorite photographer's blog. But I have searched all over FB & her website and I can't find one like that at all. So I think I must have been sleeping. Thanks you guys, for taking over my dreams. Stick out tongue

She has the one 17 year old daughter. They've been actively TTC for the past 17 years but she has only gotten pregnant once and miscarried.

  • Leslie - I teared up when Robin made that offer as well.  I wonder if Meri will accept it since I know she was against IVF.

Oh, I see.  You can tell I don't watch it regularly.
