Re: Anyone still here?
We're forecasted to get less than an inch from the 'storm' coming through right now. It all went south/southwest of us. I bet J ends up wtih at least 3-4 inches. I'm jealous. It's December, so I'm officially accepting of snow now. ha
Plus, I'll be honest. I want to watch the puppies galavant through the deep snow. haha

We only got about a 1/2 inch. Lame. I want snowman weather.

Cookies??
Snickerdoodles are my favorite, year round. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mrs-siggs-snickerdoodles/
I always put cinnamon in the cookies too though. That yumminess should not be just on the outside.
I didn't really hang out with anyone outside Marshfield either... haha I come home once in awhile. I was home last weekend for Thanksgiving. Can't pass up the cheap booze! I'll be home for Christmas too, but probably only the 24th-26th...

If a plain old sugar cookie made love to a cinnamon and sugar doughnut... snickerdoodle cookies would be the result. Delish!

Me too! and nutmeg. Holy crap I love snickerdoodles. But I can't really eat them anymore (gluten and all). Still worth it, though, I think. ha

Maybe? We need to get back semi-early so we can pick the dogs up that day. We'll probably have to leave around 1 at the latest... Would you be willing to come up to Marshfield? (Rapids is the opposite direction for me...)

Make sure they are the soft ones, that are almost not done in the middle. HEAVEN!!!!
But then again, I'm not much of a crisp cookie fan anyway.
I am not a crispy cookie person, either, unless they are Oreos.
Soft cookies are 1000x better .
Most snickerdoodles (well all cookies) are over cooked and it makes me upset.
Subway actually has some pretty good snickerdoodles in the spring time. The outside edges are a little crunchy, but the insides are super soft.

haha that's awesome.
and Oh yeah! Your anniversary is coming up!
Are you guys doing anything fun?

That is so cute!
Did I ever tell you guys what my grandma did when she first met H? We had only been dating like 2 months at the time (we were 18.) He came home with me for a wedding and 'got' to meet half the extended family at once. My grandma out of nowhere goes "you've got such a nice tan!" (yeah.... he's half black.)
He just laughed it off, but I was so embarrassed. It's the ongoing joke now. ha

Steph, we are celebrating Saturday by going to dinner downtown somewhere that H is picking out and exchanging gifts at home earlier that day.
On our actual anniversary on Sunday, he's heading to Cincy to go to a football game with his dad and I'm making one of his favorite dishes (chicken lasagna) for when he gets home.
ETA: I love grandmas...even when they say nutty stuff. Was your H offended when she said that?

OMG. it snuck up on me. Thank you! I totally thought i had an extra week at least before our anniversary. Shoot! I've got to find the belt I'm getting him.

Totally understandable. I probably would have wanted the floor to open and swallow me up. When my nephew was 3-ish, my sister was at a restaurant with him and he asked why someone was brown. He said it pretty loud and she wanted to die.

Haha Steph and Duds, grandparents are so 'precious'.
Last time H and I went to my grandpa's he invited us to lunch. We show up to his house and he offers us these tuna fish sandwiches that have been made and sitting out for hours.
I didn't have the heart to remind him we were vegetarian so I just made up that we already had eaten. He had a brain fart (or was being really stubborn) and offered us the sandwiches about 100 more times in a 45 minute period. It was SO awkward and Twilight Zone-ish. H is a trooper with my family.
