Re: Sunday morning, cont.

  • Lame, TK.  Lame.

I really don't get how the IT dept keeps *** this stuff up.  We all had such high hopes after that long down time.

  • and seriously?  We're censored here?
  • They obviously tried to switch us to PST, but I have no idea why.  I'm used to subtracting an hour on all the time stamps.  Who cares if it just stays in EST? (That's where their offices are anyway.. in NYC.) lame TK.
  • I wonder if they don't have any people working on weekends. That's when it seems to screw up the most.

ha, yeah. but only certain words.

ETA: ok, nevermind. It censored all of those. haha

Oh, I'm sure.  But then again, why bother trying to make a change to the boards if you don't have anyone working to fix it?  Maybe they do stuff on the weekends, because it's slower?

Because that's worked the last million times they've tried.  Ugh.  I never thought the time stamp to be that difficult anyway.  And my time zone/time difference now is so effed up (there, TN, is that better for you?), that I just go by what threads have the most recent posts.

  • Wy would they want to change it to pacific?

  • I can only imagine, Rhon. haha

So WW just completely changed their website this weekend too, and I'm not sure I like it.  It looks a lot... newer and cleaner.  But I DON'T LIKE CHANGE.  They do, however, have a whole section of GF recipes now, which is awesome.

and, another random comment from me. (which is going to be super assholish). I don't think I could post on PS... I'm way too judgemental. Not about people's sizes of course, but I just feel like everyone has to walk on eggshells the whole time. and some of those dresses are awful.

Job security for the IT guys?

ETA: How do you guys see the time stamp on here? They're all in my time (CST) for me.

I really can't think of any reason.  It's not like people haven't accepted that TK has people posting in multiple time zones.

  • After what happened when dj became mod, I can't help but think its ridiculous. Not the idea behind it but how clicky it got in 3 weeks.

I think it's CST for me.  It's certainly not in my time.

And I agree with you about the PS board.  I'm plus sized, but I hardly let it define my wedding.

  • I was sad I 'missed' all that drama, hike.  I tried to read it after the fact, but it just make me shake my head.  It was sad, really, how insecure everyone was about the whole thing.  Like there was this whole super secret behind-the-scenes conspiracy or something.

    Anyway.

  • It was just so weird., I felt bad for the girl who wanted to be the mod but then I couldn't believe others made such a huge deal about it. I know it's over with but I still shake my head at it.

You obviously don't understand how important a Knot career is. ;)

Seriously though. I feel like all that drama did was draw attention to how ridiculous the whole thing was.  There was even drama on my club board when I was made mod. (Someone suggested me to KA... I never asked.) People are just ridiculous.

  • Oh man, I need my eyes tested.  I keep reading the "cont" in the post title as something entirely different, and thinking, "Why is Steph being so unpleasant?"
  • Alright, I'm out. Gotta get to the grocery store before it gets crowded and I have to see students and parents.

Have a great day everyone! I'll be back later. :-)

  • I'm here but I'm about to run out the door to finish my accounting class, do some work at the second job, and run a slew of errands.

  • Good morning.

I always scroll down and look for the reply box over here before I remember I have to click on "reply".

Puppy slept in this morning, which is awesome.  I'm doing laundry and about to put the pot roast in the crock pot.  I forgot it twice this week, boo.  But it's nice to not worry about supper today.

  • Good Morning!

I slept in.  Like for the first time in years.  So now I'm all discombobulated.  It's 9 o'clock and I've got nothing done for the day yet.  weird.

The gumdrops I made last night appear to have set well in the fridge (yay!) so I'll sugar coat those today and I think I'm also going to attempt apple cider caramels (pinterest recipe) and make some fudge.  Then I'll have all the cady made for the holidays and can move on to cookies officially.

  • Same here, Pirate.  TN is weird.  But, it works! haha

Anna- I'm impressed. Seriously.  Gum drops? Are they hard to make?

I'm about to head to the grocery store, with a (happily) short list! I decided to make as much as I could using stuff we already have. (It helped that we did a Costco run yesterday.. only $120 though!)

I'm making a WW turkey chili today.  It looks really good, and it's perfect crock pot chili weather. :) The puppies are absolutely loving the snow outside.  Puck keeps running out, and flopping down in it and rolling around.

The gumdrops were not hard at all.  Immensely painful when i dripped molten sugar syrup on my hand .. but not hard.  I used a Bakerella recipe via Pinterest.  I have red (orange flavored) and green (lemon flavored).  I'll post a pic in a day or two when they are officially done and crystallized.  i wanted to make my own square gumdrops exclusively for decorating our gingerbread house.

  • Morning! I just rolled out of bed.  It was nice to sleep as late as my body let me, I don't do that often.

I'm playing around on Pinterest (which is my new obsession) and watching SYTTD reruns. So fun!

Has anyone seen the commercials for that new TLC show "The Virgin Diaries"?  I'm intrigued to watch it, but the commercials alone seem to be portraying them to being awkward and awful, which I don't really like.  I'm intrigued to watch the show and see the different kinds of stories.  It's a show about people who are waiting for their wedding night to have sex or sometimes even kiss.

  • I'm actually proud of myself for making the gumdrops.  I don't have a history of being successful when attempting any kind of sugar work or candy making.  In fact, I've had a few disasters.

I made this about a month or so ago. It was really good.

I'm here, tired. I dont think I'll ever get my sleep back. Today I have to finish laundry I didnt finish yesterday. Yesterday, we ran some errands, than last night we watched Black Swan and DH made me popcorn.

Anna- I'm quite impressed with your line up. I'm too lazy to do all that!

You should be proud!  sugar isn't easy

  • My mother made hard tack candy every year. It was fun to break it up.

  • I've been wanting to try that gumdrop recipe for a while now. I keep forgetting about it. I can't wait to see the pictures of how yours turned out, hopefully it will motivate me to actually make them!

ETA: hmmm, I quoted Anna, which showed up in my reply box but it's not here. TN does not like me.

Ah the pressure!  ;)  I've got my fingers crossed that they'll be pretty!
