Anyone still over here? (Monday)

Re: Anyone still over here? (Monday)

  • I'm nodding like crazy to everything Blue said, especially the part about catching them before they come, and trying to convince myself not to have them. I know medical situations trigger my attacks and so I start to prepare myself WAY before the appointment. Not everyone is so 'lucky' to have an obvious trigger, but with therapy or just talking to loved ones, sometimes people can find the mental steps they have right before they have an attack and so it's more of a "Up! Wait! I'm having these pre-feelings! I can do something about it now before it really hits!"

My brother also has caffeine related attacks, but I don't think I do.

Good luck DMil! I hope he gets it worked out because I know how scary the actual attacks can be!

Dmil- I'm so sorry to hear that. I think the advice reddy and blue gave were spot on. I have and continue to have trouble with random anxiety attacks. My biggest triggers are caffeine and overindulgence in alcohol and high fat foods. I've learned over the years how to spot a panic attack coming. I can usually stop them. I do have lorazepam in the rare instance where I get to the point of no return. Honestly, I think having the medication around also helps reduce my anxiety since I know I have a back up to breathing and guided meditation exercises.

I SPY A WEDDING PICTURE. GIVE ME MORE.

  • KODA!!! We need some wedding pics!!!

Thanks, everyone. This really has helped me a ton, I think I might even have Michael read this. He/we don't really know anyone else who struggles with anxiety, so he doesn't really know that what he's experiencing happens to a lot more people than just him.

I think that was a big part of it for Jeremy too.  And his dad raised him with the mindset that you're a failure/wimp if you can't handle your own shiit. (But apparently boozing it up every night doesn't count. go figure.)

HA HA.  I only have around 10 or so. My family desperately needs to email me some more.  Let me see if I can figure out how to post them on the Nest. I'm having an awful time changing my sig pic over here.
