Thoughts?
Hi. I'm in a crummy mood today. I'm blaming it on the fact that I have a dentist appointment later today.
In other news, I guess my grandma's surgery went well. The doctor said that the surgery itself went very well and she's doing okay. However, it took much longer than they thought it would. It was supposed to be a 5.5 hour surgery. It ended up being almost nine hours. Part of that was because it just took longer than they had thought to do everything. But the other part is because one of the computers in the operating room was acting glitchy so apparently the surgeons were just sitting around for an hour, half-way through surgery, waiting for the computer to come back up to so that their tools were all functioning again. Nice, eh?
Overall, I think the changes sound good. I'm glad they're listening.
That's CRAZY about your gma's surgery! I can't imagine sitting around with someone knocked out waiting for the computer to start working!
Happy Anniversary, Charity.
Kasa, I hope your Grandma recovers well. That technology stuff is weird. Does she love in Ohio, or did she go there for the surgery?
I like the ArtPrize changes too, with the exception of the neighborhood top 25. I really liked that idea. I know that the artists who weren't in the City Center area were able to get a little more exposure and feedback (for those making the top 25) that way.
Heh... I guess he's kind of cute... for an evil dentist.
She has homes in Michigan and Florida. But she went to Cleveland Clinic because of the complex nature of this surgery.
Agreed. Bagels are a great start to the day!
I'm loving the changes, with the exception of the neighborhood top 25. When I responded in my survey, I did suggest that they don't post the top 25 at least right away, as the top 25 didn't change much after the first day. It seemed like people who didn't have a lot of time checked out to see what the top 25 was and headed directly to those.
One good thing, is it seems like the media and social network groups put more focus on hidden gems and gave those more coverage. Hopefully that will stay the same.
Kasa, I wondered if she was at the C. Clinic.
Mira, which mall is closest for you? It's cracking me up that you're in the parking lot. I've spent a lot of time in my own driveway reading books in the car while one or both catches a nap. Glad you at least have your phone. Speaking of cars in mall parking lots:
The delayed top 25 is a good idea. I read that they're doing a longer first round, but don't see details. I'm glad for that.
OMG! This is TOO funny! LOL!
Morning everyone!
I'm a fan of the juried prize and later announcement of top picks for Art Prize.
GRSP - Homemade bagels? I can't begin to imagine the deliciousness.
Kasa - Glad your grandma is well - what was the surgery for? And good luck at the dentist!
Mira - Hope the Santa visit goes well when your elf awakens. Although I have to admit, I think the photos of kids crying on Santa's lap are kind of hilarious.
It's to repair damage to her back from when she broke it earlier this year.
Well goodness that sounds scary - I'm glad surgery went well and hopefully she has a quick recovery!
Wasn't it JGE that hat the hottie dentist?
I have a dentist appt tomorrow myself. I would not categorize him as hot. He's nice though, and that is good enough for me. :-) We'll see if I can keep my zero cavities streak running.
Anything bread still scares me. Someday (when I have a mixer to work the dough) I'll venture into that arena. Until then, I'll just be over here drooling at the thought of homemade bagels.
I just scrub up well, and use my hands.
A while ago, there was talk of a bagel making party here. When we move (someday, no plans) and I have a kitchen that fits more than one adult, it's on!
KerCo, I think you're right. JGE has the cute dentist. I went to Kasa's dentist too. I think what someone might be remembering was she ran into him in public and it was a little weird. Right?
