2012 - What's it looking like for you?
Any big life-changes going to happen in 2012 for anyone? Business as usual? Trips or vacations planned? Etc.
Re: 2012 - What's it looking like for you?
a few awesome trips planned for the first half (skiing in jan, paris-italy for 2 wks in april, maaaybe disney in march) and then the rest of the year is jam packed with a tooooon of work stuff.
eta: and beau wants to get a boat before the spring. not so sure about that....
I may have lost my job.
Looks like major changes for us! We are just looking for the window that opened now that this door may have closed and we'll see about moving on to the next thing.

The big thing... I'm having a baby. We have no major trips or anything planned. I'd like to make it to a friends wedding in March in Charlotte. Fingers Crossed.
And I hope that there is a family vacation with my side of the family sometime over the summer.
so sorry but i am sure that this door closing will likely lead you to a much better door opening!
Ayers, that sucks, sorry.
We're moving twice next year. First to Singapore, then to Okpo, South Korea. So major life changes there. Including me quitting my job & not knowing if I'll have one ever again. (If anyone has tips on how to apply for jobs in Asia, let me know.)
We'd love to be blessed with a baby in 2012, but if I'm not pregnant by the time we leave for Singapore, we may just take a nice long break from IF treatments.
We'll be doing a lot of trips around SE Asia over the next few years. But I'm also planning a trip to Germany in the spring or early summer to visit my sister & niece. I've never been to Europe before so I'm really excited about that.
We don't have any big plans. A small trip to Arkansas in January and a then a little beach vacation with my parents and my sister and her family over the summer - that is all that is on our calendar this year.
Selling our current home and moving into/starting some renovations on the next house (late next year)
Maybe another baby??? We'll see.
Trips... just to visit family (Cape Cod & NY)... unless another fabulous destination wedding comes along. Ohh... forgot, we might be going to Mexico with friends for NYE next year, not sure about that yet.
We're having a baby. And very likely buying a house before the baby.
In January, and possibly February, I'm going to be traveling to LA to see my brother with side trips to visit my Houston friends. Family vacations are going to be long weekend trips visiting all of the places we've missed while we were in Houston.
I'm hoping that DH and I can go away on a nice trip for our anniversary in the fall. We never got to take a honeymoon so the plan was to take a really nice trip on our 5th anniversary. We're not going to be able to go to Europe like we wanted, but I'm hoping we can take a nice trip somewhere closer to home.
Sorry ayers about your job. I've been there before, but it has always worked out better for me in the end. I hope it's the same for you.
I'm hoping to get pregnant next year. We'll probably start trying in about three months, once my OB has given me the all clear from this ectopic pregnancy. We just refinanced our house, so we will be staying here. I'm going to try to finish decorating. It's only taken me 8 years and I'm still not there yet. No trips planned, but I would like to try to go to Disney sometime next year.

Nothing exciting for us. No life changes planned. No moves, no babies, no big purchases. Looking forward to a boring year.
Maybe a small trip but we're saving up for an extra special trip in a few years so nothing too expensive.
ETA: DH's life will be taken over by a shutdown planned to start next October and run through the end of 2012. It will mean straight graveyards, 6 nights a week, for months. I'll be looney by Christmas next year.
Maybe another baby? I'm not 100% on board yet but the fever is setting in a little bit.
HOPEFULLY moving into a bigger and better house (we've been looking for the past 3 years, I have a feeling this is our year!)
WDW for the holidays 2012 (DH is a youth football coach and the boys' parents all chipped in and got us a very generous Disney gift card to use for a trip and I really want to take the girls for the Christmas season).
DH's work is taking us on trips to a lake in Kentucky and Hilton Head, SC during the summer.
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
1st pregnancy: BFP- 6/28/09 - Found out we lost our little girl on 10/9/09 at 19w 4d - D&E- 10/14/09
June 2010, corrective surgery for Septate Uterus and large fibroids
2nd pregnancy: BFP- 10/18/10 - Slow rising, non-doubling HCGs, no heart beat. Non-viable pregnancy, D&C- 11/12/10
Started Metformin 6/30/11, Started Clomid 7/20/11 - Unsuccessful
HSG and Laparoscopic surgery revealed blocked tubes and lots of scar tissue...IVF here we come!!!
Surprise BFP naturally!!! IT'S A BOY!!!
Going back to work after mat leave in February. :-( Possibly going to Japan in May-ish to visit BIL. It's our year for Thanksgiving at our house, and we plan to have a lot of my family come in from Illinois this year, so that should be fun. Otherwise, business as usual.
ETA: We may replace our floors next year. The berber that was installed before we moved is fraying near the seams and where our pets have dug under the doors. :-( It's held up pretty well, except in those areas, so we may have to swtich to a different kind of carpet. DH wants hardwood/laminate floors, but I am not sold, yet. I like the look, I would just rather walk on carpet.
I am planning to continue on the weight loss course that I am on now. I would love to be able to walk into any store and buy clothes, not just the large and lovely (gag at that phrase) shops.
We are planning to take a few trips next year. For sure to see Kimmer, possibly a cruise in April and we are talking about a family trip with some friends and their kids - not sure if that one will be tropical or stateside.
My baby girl will be starting Kinder next year...that is pretty big IMO. Sniff, sniff.
Not moving or planning to change jobs. we would love to do some things to the house, just not sure what.
We hope to be blessed with a baby in 2012. If this cycle does not work, we will be pursuing more aggressive fertility treatments in the new year. I'm not getting any younger.
We will be welcoming our 10th nephew in late February/early March. Making the grand total, of nieces and nephews, 18!
We're going to try and do an upstairs bathroom renovation, replace the upstairs carpet and add a covered patio to the house next year.
Take a trip in the late spring/early summer to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We're thinking the Outer Banks of North Carolina, but nothing is set in stone.
I'm choosing to be in denial on this point. We could always hold them back a year.
Well... DH and I are going to start looking for a house. I'm so over living in an apartment. Prince Picasso needs a backyard to mess up and walk and poop and pee all over... lol
I have been interviewing at a few places so hopefully something will come up. I am super grateful to have a job but something closer to home with better pay would be amazing for DH and I.
Planning on a few trips to New Braunfels, South Padre Island, Corpus (all throughout the year), Vegas(3rd Anniversary in June), a cruise(hopefully in the winter).
No babies anytime soon. Definitely want to enjoy the hubs and our home(We're praying we find something by June!)
It will be a busy year I am sure. DH is looking to possibly switch companies which will bring about HUGE changes for me if it goes according to plan. As for trips, so far we have 2 to San Antonio and 1 to Dallas but they aren't for fun. We are also planning to go to MS this summer for a week or so.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. My Blog
Edit this to say that I'll be going to Germany in July for the birth of my new niece or nephew
New job. (same company, new position)
getting CC debt free (again)
Family vacation over the Summer with friends and their kiddos. Possibly Disneyworld, we haven't decided for sure.
Moving sometime in the spring
Baby due 6/2
Disney World 12/4-12/14 with my mom, Dh, me, DS (to celebrate his 3rd bday early), and 6month old LO
The best of luck to you!
wow. that is a big thing! I guess happy hugs to you?
our big thing is the babies in 2012. I think that will be all consuming but I'm still hoping for a vacation of some sort in the winter of next year. We put off australia, traveling with 2 kids under 3 months was too much.
Well, now I feel supremely boring. I've got nada. Funding for my job is secure through July, then of course it's a crap shoot, as it is every year. We're not moving, I'm not pregnant or trying to get pregnant, though hopefully we'll be headed that way by the second half of 2012. We don't have any big trips planned, maybe a family vacation with the ILs, I think they were talking about going to San Diego, but I don't think there are any definitive plans. A new niece or nephew is arriving in late March or early April and it's my parents' 50th anniversary and my 5th, but that's all I got.
holy schniekes... well, i'm happy for you if you're happy!
i am hoping to get back to running in 2012, because i want to do the disney princesses half-marathon in 2013 : )
looking to make some sizable business decisions over the course of 2012. it will be very interesting to see where it takes us!
my photography blog
The big news for us in 2012 is baby!
So as of now there are no trips planned and no moving. It looks like both our jobs are secure and I hope it stays that way.
We have a few house projects in line. I know you're all going to be jealous of our new roof! No more babies for sure...
The biggest thing for me is that I just applied for my Real Estate Brokers License. I actually filed yesterday. I should be taking the test in just a couple of weeks. This is a big step for me.
Hugs, KDW.
We're thinking Vegas in late January/early February as a belated grad school graduation gift for DH. Planning a trip to Surfside in July with my whole family to celebrate my mom's 60th. (Anyone have a photographer rec for Destin/Surfside?) I have a work conference in Orlando in October and I think DH will bring DD down for a quick trip to Disney World. Nothing too overwhelming, just a brief introduction. DH is running the NYC marathon in November so we'll take a quick trip up that way for the race and then a couple days for vacation. Not sure if we'll take DD. Thinking about another little one sometime toward the second half of the year.
Most of all, we're just hoping for health for all of us this coming year.
We'll have DS#2 in early February.
Hopefully DH will go from contract to permanent employee at his company after the first of the year, which will mean we have a shot of me being able to stay home next year with DS2.
Possible trip to Cali for my cousin's wedding this summer and/or take DS1 to WDW. That all depends on DH's job stablity and pay.
DS1 starts Kindergarten.
Maybe baby #2... I don't know how much longer we're going to try.
Fingers crossed, maybe we could sell one or both of the rentals. I'm tired of being a landlord.
And I'll probably start work on a cookbook next year. Or at least get serious about thinking about getting serious about it.
Hoping to take a half-work, half-vacay trip to Seattle early next summer.
