I loathe Excel sometimes.
I've been messing with a chart because the dates won't show up on the X-axis. It would only list chronological #s 1-71.
I fixed all of the data types I could find, re-did the chart, and voila - we have dates.
Now all of my data points are jacked. The data itself is accurate, but it doesn't correspond with the $ value on the Y axis. Ex: data point with value $6,268 is over the $11,000 mark on the Y axis. Grrr.

DITTO! I was thinking "you just loathe them sometimes, I hate them ALL the time"
lol
Sorry you are having difficulty with Excel...I'm not help when it comes to that program (its way above my understanding level). Hope you get it figured out soon!
I confess I frequently have to go back and "re-take" the peoplesoft advanced Excel online video course we have here just to troubleshoot things I can't figure out.
Ugh.

Yeah, that's the only way I could get the dates to even show up. Finally I gave up since it's not my chart & I was spending way too much time on it & neglecting other duties. I've taken courses, but there are so many small differences between versions that I get confused. Plus, I spent a few years using Open Source spreadsheets... sigh.
Oh, and don't get me started on Xcel. I can't go there in my mind today.
