Re: Tell me something about you

  • I had open heart surgery when I was 17.

I had an ASD (hole in my heart) and a valve repair. I was cleared to play soccer again in 3 weeks.

  • I have a degree in French/English and taught h.s. for one year before eventually becoming a photographer and owning my own business.
  • I had a bad infection on the growth plate of my ankle when I was 10.  The doctors thought it would kill me or, at best, leave me crippled.  Instead I made a full recovery with no issues.

Oh, and I hooked up with Jason Mraz when I was in college.

  • Shower curtains gross me out to no end.
  • I used to be an English teacher as well and I have a strange love for the Muppets.
  • I can (accurately) type 130+ wpm

That's not very exciting. Hmm I was kind of on an episode of The West Wing once! I was in an ambulance that had the President's daughter on it

  • I got a Kindle Fire from my firm for Christmas and I'm hooked on Angry Birds!  It's been the coolest gift ever!

That wasn't very exciting but that's all I've got for now.

  • I can fit my whole fist in my mouth.

When I was 15, I was in an opera.

I've got a few friends who are amazing photographers, and sometimes we shoot together.  I've done lingerie, fetish/horror and art nude shoots.  It's nothing I'll ever pursue seriously, but I really, really love it.

I have a tiny lisp, even after a childhood of speech therapy.

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

  • I worked at Walt Disney World in college - for three months.  Hated every second of it and vow to never visit Disney again!
*The only way to dream is big*
  • I was born in Germany and lived there until i was 19 months or so. I have to drive all the way to D.C. to get my birth certificate and give everything but a blood sample to prove who I am in order to get it. Also, 3 yrs ago it cost $60 a pop to get so I got 2 and placed them in different places so I wouldn't lose them.

  • I have almost died a total of three times in my life...

    1. Complications during Mom's pregnancy and a couple of weeks afterwards almost had me knocking on death's door.

    2. I was two yo and got salmonella in Mexico, and I got so bad that the hospitals there weren't able to help me, so they had to ship me over the border.

     3. In 2007, I was hit by a drunk driver going 120 mph. We flipped over 4 1/2 times (landed upside down). I had to crawl out of the window bare feet and all since my shoes went flying.

They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
  • Both of my parents grew up only children, but my dad discovered a long-lost half brother a couple of years ago.  At the age of 30 I got my very first uncle.  I still haven't met him though.

Oh, and my grandfather?  He was kind of a d!ck.

    This is my siggy.
  • I was on MTVs Say What Karaoke in college. We made it to the finals but ultimately lost. Joey McIntire had really yellow teeth and looked a little gross up close.
someecards.com - North Carolina: Where you can marry your cousin. Just not your gay cousin.
  • I can touch my nose with my tongue!

  • I fell on the street when I was 9 and cut the palm of my hand.  It healed.  About a month or so later brown spots started appearing.  Turns out there were pieces of wood stuck in the wound but my skin healed over it and my body was rejecting it.  I had them surgically removed.  Two years ago I noticed I have three brown spots that have been getting larger since.  I don't care to get them checked.

When I was 11 my neighborhood went to town water so they dug up the street and laid fiberglass pipes, sealed the street back up and ran street cleaners.  I guess I was riding my bike at the wrong time because I ended up with fiberglass in my left eye.  I had it removed.  I currently have glasses.  Left eye is precription, right eye is a blank lens.

  • I've had 3 last names but only been married/divorced once (and I didn't change my name after divorce)

I was the 4-H Horse Queen for my county my senior year of high school

That same year I won Grand Champion for showmanship w/ my horse and competed in the "Show of Champions". I did showmanship with beef, dairy, calves, draft horses, saddle horses, swine, goats, sheep, dogs, chickens, and rabbits.

    I've never met anyone famous

  • I had to have back surgery when I was 16 to correct scoliosis. I got the rare kind that if I didn't have surgery quickly, I would not live to see 40. I also ended up losing use of my left arm and hand as a result of the surgery. After years of therapy and a hand surgery, I have 85% mobility in my left hand and function of my left arm, though I do not feel pain and temperature.
  • I lived in South America, Venezuela for about 8 months when I was in third grade. My dad moved us down there to be with him while he was working.
  • I have MS.  You would never, ever know if I didn't tell you.  When I do tell people, I get a lot of, "oh, you don't LOOK SICK!!! I would have never known!!!"

    Confused  and Confused

  • I've lived in CA, HI, NV, and LA...

BF lives in VA, I live in CA

    Nothing exciting, I know Sleep

  • I'm related to Howard Hughes. My great grandmother was a cousin or something (her maiden name was Hughes). My entire childhood was affected by my family's fight for a portion of his estate. Lots of letters written by my family, lawyers visiting our home, and wishes for that money (we grew up poor, so it was always like someone telling you that winning the lottery was right around the corner). Ultimately, we got nothing. But sometimes I think his craziness was passed on to multiple members of my family.

I'm a workaholic to a pretty severe degree and should probably get counseling for it, but I love to work too much to give it up. I regularly put in 18 hour days and typically work seven days a week.

I almost became a pastor several years ago, but now I am sadly apathetic about my faith. I still believe, but I'm not even going to church anymore, which is crazy to think about if you'd known me a few years ago.

  • My family line is the one that kidnap queen Mary of Scotts!  I know.. this has nothing to do with me in any ways.

I sang in choir in highschool and was on the dance team even though I was tone deaf.  I was able to sing every pitch right on as long as I stood close to the piano to feel the vibration.

  • I'm left handed, and my elbows are double jointed so when I straighten my arm out it looks like my elbow is bending the wrong way.

  • Let's see..

In high school, I placed in all state choir as a soprano 1. I've smoked many packs of cigarettes since then and my voice is now alto 2.

Also, in 2007 I had a laminotomy and discectomy in my lower lumbar and I couldn't walk for 4 weeks. I have degenerative disc disease, arthritis, scholiosis, and still have a herneation in one of my discs. I lost over 100 lbs and I'm feeling much better but will still be in pain for the rest of my life.

I guess that's all that's even remotely interesting.

    Any way the wind blows...

  • I almost died before I was born, the cord was wrapped around my neck and my face was blue as I was being born.

My DS is actually of distant relation to her. His ancestor was her great or great-great grandmother.
  • I can pop my shoulder in and out of place.  Not very exciting.  LOL

  • I worked in an eye bank where my job was to go to hospitals/morgues and harvest eyes from deceased people for corneal implants and eye research. One of the coolest jobs I've ever had.

My little sister and I share a birthday, exactly 2 years apart.
