Re: Chit Chat Thursday
Our shower is fixed...woohoo!
If I am correct in my guessing, I am getting the Clarisonic for Christmas!
Jaymi,
I'm jealous.
This year's seniors, who are very important to me (like last in long family lines where I've had every child and who threw me a shower), want to have a graduation party. At our house. Bill has said yes. I've already started looking on Etsy for "Oh the Places You'll Go" party decorations.
My mom did this theme for my HS graduation party! So cute!
Today is my last day in my twenties. I feel like I should do something monumental. Or crazy.
Jaymi - Me too!
Anna - Happy Early Birthday!
Also, today is my Friday! Wahoo!
that makes one of us. Our apartment managers said they dont know when maintenance is going to be able to fix our shower. That was last week. They need to fix the mixet stems and some toggle thing since we're still not getting any hot water in our bathrooms.
I'm getting aggravated about it every day.
Anna- Happy Early Birthday! What are you thinking about doing?

Are you talking video games? Because I am not too much help there. Although one of our really good friends sent us the Wii game "Dokapon Kingdom" as a wedding gift (I'm not kidding) and H got suuuper excited.
If he's into board games you could check out a place like Madness Games and Comics for some really neat games. I think last year was the year I bought H Tales of the Arabian Nights, which is a "choose your own adventure" board game and seriously so much fun. Or Cash and Guns, or Red Dragon Inn.
On that note, I ordered H's Christmas gifts last night. He requested "Cleopatra 2525" and I am ashamed to say I bought it for him. No one can say I don't love that man.
And Julie, my high school biology teacher gave me that book, and now I give it out as often as I can.

Does he play computer games? Maybe you could get him a game for the computer?

Me too! I have big plans of finally putting outdoor Christmas lights and baking tomorrow!
Anna, have a blast today! Doing anything this weekend to celebrate?
Jaymi, glad you got your shower fixed finally!

Amanda,
I actually give that to some of my students every year as a gift. I write something in the front for them. One year, one of my seniors ended the year very mad at me and wouldn't take the book from me. I gave it to his mother and she gave it to him when he left for college (slipped it in his bag unbeknownst to him). Several months later, he came back home for a visit and stopped in to visit me. He apologized and gave me a hug and said that the book made him realize that what I did had more to do with the fact that I cared about him. "Oh the Places You'll Go" brings people together.
I have an AW! I finally got a new job! No more 3 hour commute for me. I will be in FW all day and night. It's a promotion by title not so much by pay, but I get to be 10 mins from home. This is the biggest blessing of them all. I don't have to wake up at 4:15 and can wake up at 6 work out and still have plenty of time to go to work!

WOW! Congratulations!

Contrats Deepthi - That is AWESOME!
What's funny is that had I kept turning the knob thingy instead of trying to take it apart like DH, we could have fixed it ourselves weeks ago. But what do I know about plumbing???
Great news Deepthi! When do you start?

VERY exciting! Congrats!!!
Deepthi - Awesome!! Congrats!
Gamer question - You could get him a headset.
Anna - Happy Early Birthday! I wish I had good ideas to "go out with a bang", sadly I do not.
Today I'd love to do something exciting like get a tattoo or something, but I probably won't do anything. But, tomorrow DH & I are going to the zoo then I have dinner with family. Saturday, I'm having a big 90's themed party. I'm excited!
ETA: Deepthi, that is so exciting! Congrats!
Danielle, I don't really know anything about gaming, but I have a friend who is a little obsessed with Skyrim.
The 27th... My last day here is the 23rd.
Thanks everyone!

Yay on the new job Deepthi!
Happy early birthday Anna!
My DH is a gamer, but I know that tastes in games can vary greatly from one person to another. He normally drops hints on games that he wants. I'm probably going to get him a new controller because he spilled water on his second and now it won't work.

What's the new tattoo you want?

Happy early birthday Anna and YAY Deepthi that is so so exciting, very happy for you.
Oh, I don't really know, which is why I probably won't do it, lol. I've been considering something with plumeria (for Hawaii, where we got engaged and honeymooned), edelweiss (for Switzerland, where my mom is from) and bluebonnets (for Texas, obviously). But I don't know where I want it.
Deepthi - Hooray!!!! I am so happy for you.
Anna - Happy early birthday!
MIL and BIL came up last night. I think it's only going to be for a couple of days though. I hadn't been home an hour, and BIL was asking where the girls were. I said there weren't any, and he said there had to be, since it's Dallas. I told him no, we live in a neighborhood of empty nesters. He was disappointed, but oh well! Otherwise, the evening went smoothly.
How can you not make girls just randomly appear?? (sarcasm font)

So, this is bad...but does anyone else think that some of the Kidd Kraddick Christmas wishes might be fake?
The one from this morning seemed pretty unrealistic.
I always feel like I'm such a jaded person for this - but I agree 100%. I love helping people (that actually deserve it, and really are on hard times), but with the amount of lying and deception that goes into charity work, I have such a hard time believing anything anymore.
