    Kids are weird.

    This :) haha

    Anna - Happy Birthday

I totally made that cookie/brownie/oreo thing last night. It's perfect because i really want to try it and i'm supposed to bring a dessert to the holiday party we're going to tonight. I had left over cookie dough so i made a smaller version and brought it to work. With a tub of ben and jerrys....i think i'm going to need a treadmill tomorrow.

I had my cake topper made by an etsy seller from an alchemy request, so I just went back and messaged her.  She is only charging me $18 plus shipping and had it done in like three days.  let me know and I can pass on her info, dont know if she will be able to do one but she might.

I am still hoping Lauren will make mine.  ;)

Mine would match my tree since it was all white.  I'll probably do it at some point.  It is so hard for me to spend money on myself during the holidays.

LOL, if you didn't have such a beautifully detailed cake I would totally give it a try after the craziness of the move.

  • Ironically, I had the plainest cake ever so I think it would make for a bland ornament. Our cake topper was fun though and sits on our mantle.

I just spent an hour interpreting the Florida Building and Plumbing Codes. I kind of missed my old job and the craziness of it for about a minute. Then I remembered having to leave class to talk clients off the ledge at 8pm and decided I'd much rather just keep doing what I am now.

I am doing something tonight for someone as a favor for their daughter and I am really not looking forward to it.

ETA: Lacey - I sometimes think about writing a blog but I am not sure it would be any good/if anyone would read it.

  • I would read your blog Leslie!  I was never really big into blogging (or even really knew what it was all about) until the wedding.  Since then I love checking out all types of blogs including home/decor, travel and even babies.
  • Leslie-  I would totally read it!  I heart blogs!!!
  • Leslie - I would read it and I think it would be great.

Speaking of blogs... there's one I used to read ALLL the time that hasn't been updated in SOOO long.  Ahem.  That is all.

    Leslie,

I think a lot of people would benefit from your blog if you started one.  I've wanted to start a fitblog just to keep myself accountable.

Happy Early Birthday Deepthi!  I probably won't be on the boards this weekend, so I wanted to say it now.  :)

    Thank you!

Marissa got me into a blog about crazy MILs that hasn't been updated in two years.  I deleted my bookmark for it the other day.

Yeah.  There were some really great stories....

  • AW city: DH just texted he got both a Christmas bonus and a raise today!!

I am leaving here in 20 minutes to meet friends for happy hour then we are going to an early dinner before I have to make cake all night. Yay!!

I will think about this blog thing...between the weight loss, starting the infertility journey, finishing school and just random things that happen to me I should have enough to write about to keep it interesting. Hmmm.

I stumbled on the blog by the wife of a guy I'd gone to highschool with.  It was about their fertility struggles, and by the time I found it, they'd had a baby girl, but I still read it from the beginning and it was amazing.

AH! I wish it was updated!

We just had another wild phone call from MIL.  DH said he takes what she says with a grain of salt.. but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt..

IDK what to do now. She's the mom that took her daughter to the hospital bc she bumped her head on the monkey bars and had a bruise.   This is her 3rd "cancer scare" in a year. Over the summer she said no one could know about it but that she had a stomach cancer scare. Now she called to say she has  a tumor the size of a baseball on her brain. YET, no one else knows about it. and she hasn't gone to a specialist yet. just a regular doctor in their small town. I truly hope she is okay, but its weird.  and she calls to say everyone is worried for her, like dh's dad, but we don't ever hear from him. IDK!!!

  • Okay, now I have a flame:

We're in a brand new school, right?  At LEAST once a month (seems more, lately) we get an email from the principal or the office manager basically BEGGING us to take better care of the furniture.  They ordered tables and chairs that are designed to be moved around so students can collaborate, and really neat, comfy furniture for the common areas, but it keeps getting broken.  It's like, "Come on, people.  Watch what your kids are doing and tell them to stop sitting on the back of the chair!"

While I do hope she is well, could this be more about getting attention?  The holidays are coming up.  Didn't you recently decide to stay home and do your own thing for Christmas?  Sorry if I'm mixing you up with someone else.

My experience with MIL's and hospitals/health are a little jaded as my MIL typically uses "health issues" with anyone in the family as sort of a punishment for DH.  For a normal person, I would be freaked out, worried, etc. that someone has a baseball sized tumor but with my MIL, I would take it with a grain of salt, just like your husband is doing.  I'd be leery as all get out and just not make a huge deal about it or fawn all over her.  Take your DH's lead.  Call your FIL if you feel the need.

  • maybe its just my friday-itus but i swear - brianna...your ticker still said raspberry when i came in this morning....lol
  • Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! We didn't end up going to the zoo since it was chilly & cloudy, but we went to lunch and did some Christmas shopping, it was fun!

Leslie, you should start a blog! I really really want to start a cooking blog, but I can't come up with a good title for it. I might poll my FB friends to see what they come up with.
