Re: let's talk baby names!

  • I totally thought you were pregnant.

I love Stella.  For the next babe I am thinking Mia or Natalie.  If I have another boy I am at a total loss.

  • dh and i have discussed a few times.  here is what we have come up with.

girls- margaret helen (nn peggy or maggie- i seriously love peggy), claire rose, lucy kathleen

boys- finbar patrick (nn fin).  not 100% on this one but we do like it.  patrick will be incorporated somehow and i am going to veto topher- those are the only definites.

  • lachute - i love nico! love!

i have not thought this far ahead...

  • this baby factory is closed! but the remaining names on my list that went unused: Christian or Jude, Charlotte or Sophie. maybe for our dog if we ever get one

    David John 4.19.01
    Jonathan Dean 4.5.08
    Anna Capri 5.4.11
  • We are probably not having another but if we did my name choices would be

    Claire and Jude or Jonah.

Emma was this close to being named Claire anyway.  Then we only ditched Emma Claire so we could save Claire on the off chance we have another.

  • No, I am not KU either, but I like:

    Girl- Isabella, Holly, Kelsey, Sophia

Stella and Olivia are variations of my grandmothers' names (Estella and Olive) that I have also considered putting together

Boy- Michael, Julian, Luciano and DH likes Gabriel

I have an Irish married name, so I am not so sure if some of my Italian themed names will work :-(

  • Lachute--I love stella, however, its popularity is skyrocketing so Im a little hesitant  personally, but its a great name! A friend of mine just had a baby girl named NICA, so you can switch it up if you have a girl! I really like it. Her brother's name is Novak (nn is Novi) so it goes together well.

Our "leftover" names that I still like for a possible #2 are Morgan or Evelyn for a girl--I love Eleanor (nn Ellie/Ella /Annie/ Lena) but not sure that DH will go for it. Im not really thrilled with any boy names but my favorite so far is shane patrick.

    Jubilee Shalom

There is a multiple page thread on P&CE about this.

We are years away from procreating, but right now winners are Sophia Eleni for a girl and Joseph Isaac if it's a boy.

  • Also I know nico is a boys name but I like it for a girl too.
  • when i hear nico, i think the velvet underground.

Me too which is why I like it as a girls name.
  • Girl --- Stella (Oliver would have been a "Stella" if he were a girl...I've loved this name for like 10 years, but now it's becoming pretty popular. If we have a girl next time, I may still consider it). We also liked Lucy.

Boy -- Graeme (I want to have another boy just so I can use this name), we also like Samuel.

  • I'll make my return to the board to play. And no, not KU'd either.

Girl - Sophie (family name although hesitant due to popularity of Sophia) or Elliot (nn Ellie). Either way Patricia will be the middle name.

Boy - Andrew. Middle name either Eric or Samuel. (all 3 of those names being family names)

  • Also not KU but I like Daniel Patrick for a boy and Amelia Patricia for a girl (nn Mia)

  • I was so glad when we found out that Danica was a girl because DH and I could not agree on any boy names. I like Wyatt but DH hated it.

For girls, I'm digging the boy names for girls lately. I absolutely love Charlie for a girl and I also love Evan. I'm not sure I have the balls to name a girl Charlie but in my dream world I do. I also have been liking the name Courtney lately. Spelled with a C though. Sorry, KK.

  • 0602 - my niece is Amelia and we sometimes call her Mia. So cute.

Heather - you could name her Charlotte and call her Charlie. Clearly, I agree as Elliot is at the top of my list. Charlie is cute :)

I actually super love Elliot as well. I couldn't sell it well enough for DH though. Maybe next time.

How do you pronounce that-- Graham? if so, I like! It reminds me of another name I like --Grayson/Greyson, nn Gray. I dont know why but I really like it. DH would double the usual level of hair eyeball for that one though so its not going to happen unless we get a dog!

  • We like Cecilia Mary for a girl.

We fought over boy's names a lot. We both decided "Michael" should be somewhere in the name after some important family members, but I didn't want it for a first name (mostly b/c I had a seriously long relationship with a douche bag drunkard by that name). So I think we're leaning towards Leo Michael.

  • If we were to have a kid, I only had a girls name picked, Margaret Beatrice.  Dh's mother, and my grandmothers names.  She would have gone by maggie, since I don't like Margaret.

We never talked about boys names.

But alas, we are not spawning.

Would you mind having two kids with "l" I love a bunch of m names but feel ruined by the kdash family.

No, it was actually intended. That boy name would share all 3 of Big Lar's initials.

Also, we wanted names to reflect our Italian heritage. It's hard to find good L names that match those criteria.

ETA:  I also can't say I really cared if people like/liked our names. We were at a Christmas party with Big Lar's family a few weeks ago and were talking about names for eventual #2. He told everyone what we were thinking. They all liked Michael (b/c it's for their grandfather) but they were meh about Leo. I think he regretted spilling it but it didn't really bother me.

  • Ruby.

weirdly, my mom got Max a Halloween book about a sister and brother-Max and Ruby

First I love the initial thing

Two I love Leo! Both l's name and Leo run rampant in my family.

Re Italian names: my maiden name being so Italian often brought on comments in my work world. I never enjoyed the mafia comments etc which I oddly received often so I try to keep the names netural culturally. I know it's lame.

This is a show on Nick Jr! They are bunnies and they have no parents. Well, I'm sure they do, but they are never around

  • oh, this makes much more sense now.

  • There will be no numero cinco baby here....even though you bishes keep trying to jinx me. (January 13th is the big V day and it can't come soon enough).

Penny was going to be Adam Lucas if she was a boy.

I was shocked when DH said he liked the name Elliot. I thought for sure he'd say hell no. He did mention that he felt like people would think we are super weirdo Scrubs fans (which we kind of are) but I reminded him that by the time we have a kid and that kid hits school..none of her friends would know what Scrubs was.

LD - I super agree with you re: what people think. I couldn't care less what people think of the names we like and I think if anyone had the nuts to tell me, I'd probably have the nuts to tell them their opinion doesn't matter. Our families though would never say anything no matter how weird the names are. Thats just not their style.
