Dear margarita, daiquiri or really any form of alcohol,

I really wish I could have some of you right now.  Maybe tonight but me drinking and cooking is a disaster waiting to happen.

I was hoping the dates would go into April when we want to go back to Vegas.  Oh well.

Worth moving it up for the savings?  Maybe?

  • Ok, I found it. I'm definitely talkin to Courts about this today. The airfare is was always gets me, this deal is too good to pass up!
  • I'm not seeing this deal--link or something?

Stephie - It was great. The girl I made it for claimed the top tier for herself and refused to share. I also made some of it into cake balls last night for my neighbors (along with chocolate regular cake cake balls) and they all loved it and had no idea it was GF.

I'm not sure where you're going with your gay marriage point. I think Julie was referring to everyone's claim that gay marriage would ruin the sanctity of marriage. Unfortunately though, this has already been done by Kim & Britney.

And Dash not make it in Dallas?? Have you seen North park?

(Sorry I meant to quote Kathleen)

I think society as a whole pretty much ruined the sanctity of marriage long before Kim, TBH.  But I've seen (not necessarily here.) comments like "They let her get married, but they won't let gays get married?" I don't think those two are equal and it rubs me the wrong way. I feel like it kind of implies that short marriages won't happen to the gay community. That's jmo.

Re Dash: Apparently my brain does not function today. I was thinking solely about surburbia. I completely forgot about North Park. I also hate shopping and try not to get out much though. I only go to the Parks if I have to.

Well, it is worth it, but I want to go during pool weather.  The pool for us is always a big part of any vacation, especially in Las Vegas.  We couldn't get enough of the pool when we were there.

  • My little sister is causing fb drama for me... it's kind of funny really.
  • Supposedly a production company has already been hired to film Khloe and Lamar's life in Dallas.
  • My neighbor was telling me about these acrobatic fitness classes - www.cirquefit.net - and I am so intriqued.  But also, afraid of busting my tush.  But I think I might try it.

Also, I can't browse at work, but can someone post a link to the $9 airfare deal?  I think I'll be discussing this with J tonight!

  • Here is the Travelzoo deal--you have to book by TOMORROW.

     From the Travelzoo Newsdesk:

DALLAS--DECEMBER 13, 2011-- For two days, Spirit Airlines is
slashing nonstop fares to seven popular cities from Dallas
to $9 each way ($39.40 roundtrip, including taxes).

Only eight dates per route, January-April, are available for
the $9 each-way price. But, with some flexibility, traveling
on these days cuts as much as 90% off prices on other
airlines -- even when factoring in Sprit's additional fees
of up to $35 per carry-on bag.

The $9 fares are available to the following cities:

    - New York City
    - Atlanta
    - Orlando
    - Boston
    - Las Vegas
    - Fort Lauderdale
    - Chicago

Click the link below to see exact dates the $9 fares are

A lurker jumping in - I think you have to sign up for their $9 Fare Club in order to get this deal ($60/year). Normal airfare is still really reasonable though ($50 - $60 including fees/taxes on the days I was looking).

ETA: I was looking at Chicago fares in February. I just looked at the Boston fares and they're higher.

I quoted it and it is not part of hte $9 Fare Club.  Just FYI.

Also, I missed this earlier, but

To those of you who asked -

The hypothetical situation is still an option....however I am about to tell them to go jump off a cliff.   I don't want to work for a company that handles business in this manner.

    Thanks for asking, though. :)

  • Tiffany, Maybe there are circumstances that you're unaware of that are making them appear to drag their feet?  I know that we were interviewing a girl, and management reallllllly wanted her, but it took a long time to give her an offer, because the VP who needed to approve everything was out of the country... and when I got hired, they took a while and also had to jump through some hoops then too... so, is there anyone you can touch base with to see if there is a particular reason for the holdup?  Sometimes, good things are worth the wait... and sometimes, the wait is just an indication of more troubles to come.  Either way, I'm sorry you're having to play the waiting game though.

Angie - I'm okay with a holdup.  What I am not okay with is my following up with the recruiter twice (each time one full week apart) and getting no response whatsoever.  It makes my blood boil.

Also, this whole process has been going on since October.  I'm really ready to just put it behind me.
