Re: Brag it up
Obviously, I'm pretty proud that I'm about to complete my first semester of law school! Regardless of the letters that show up in January, I've worked my butt off over the last three months and more importantly, I finally found the courage to face this challenge.
I can't wait to see everyone's posts in this thread!
I started this thread because I have something, and I knew others do to. Why are there so many views, and so few responses. Come on, pals... anything: did you save the world? Did you reorganize your linen closet?
My grade was posted. I don't think that Master's program report card have an A+ option, but if it did... that would be what mine said. I was really worried about this class. Until the last week, I didn't think I was really catching on. Looks like I did, just in time. Giving the prof feedback on his delivery method gave us 2 extra credit points.
You are a rockstar!
Growing babies and canning apple butter definitely makes you a rockstar
DP, I'm excited for you to be done soon. Every time I finish a class, I put a checkmark next to my program plans. You'll get to do 4! Great job managing school and a change of life.
GG: Having a little one, making another one, and dealing with the stresses that come with smaller babies and little fluid is a feat. Making a spread out of apples in the meantime is cool. Good job!
Mine's probably pretty boring to most people:
But I recently managed a successful media realtions campaign. I'm quite proud of this because a) it definitely raised awareness and increased business, and b) media relations is not something that I have a lot of experience in and it's not a strength of mine -- in fact, I've always found it rather scary -- so the fact that I succussfully did several media interviews is something that I'm pretty proud of.
Congrats to everyone on their recent achievements! You all are awesome!
I think this is awesome! I definitely thought of you as a local celebrity after this.
And fwiw, I think all of your jobs are insanely cool. In my head, people in marketing/PR positions are very hip.
I think of my program by semester (I don't even know how many classes I'll need to take--and it could vary because of differences in credit hours--but I think I need 86 credit hours). There will be six semesters total and as of Monday, I'll be down to five. That sounds totally manageable.
Aw, shucks.
I think agency types are very hip. Corporate marketing people like myself - not so much.
I lost 20 pounds this year. Still have a lot to go, but at least it's a start.
Oh come on, you're WAY hipper than nonprofit marketing people like myself ;-)
That is so awesome. I've been loving your updates.
That is so awesome. I've been loving your updates.
Isn't that an awesome feeling? YOU know you deserved an A+ :-)
way to go! (on both . . . but I'm most envious of the apple butter)
Wendy: great job! 20 pounds is a big accomplishment!
Deeder: I hope the decorating helps your hoiday spirit. I'll bet it looks great!
that's way more than me! Go you.
Man, I haven't done anything note worthy in weeks. Lately my life has been work, eat, sleep, cuddle with R. I've barely been able to keep my house clean
If I had to say something I guess it would be that I washed all of our bedding on Sunday. Yay for clean blankets!
WOP, I think managing your transition back from maternity leave is an accomplishment. Getting back to work and figuring out what that means for your family logistics is a tough act for the first weeks.
Kasa, it occurs to me that you may have been talking about one campaign and I was thinking about a different one. You've been a media blitzer!
Oh, good point. I was referring to the volunteer media campaign. My work's campaign was none of my doing (a hip PR person did that
).
Woohoo! That is a fantastic accomplishment.
Also more than me. Since we've traveled over Christmas the last few years, I've just skipped the whole decorating thing. We'll see what happens this year...
Nothing to brag about I don't think. But I want to give all of you a big high fives for yours! Keep it up ladies!
On second thought I'll brag that as on Saturday at 5PM I will be down to my last semester of law school. It won't kill me if it hasn't yet! Right? Right. I think I need another ticker.
Diana: double high five for you (high 10?). Congrats on getting that first one out of the way lady!
You guys are all seriously awesome. Way to go.
My piddly brag - I re-applied to my local community college. I plan on taking 1 or 2 classes this winter, and be on my way to an associates degree. Whoopty doo. I need 8 more classes to get this done, and I hope to be finished by the time I'm 30 (2.5 years...hehe - rough goal, eh?).
