Re: Brag it up
Isn't it supposed to get easier as you get closer to the end? Lie to me if you have to...that's what I've been telling myself to get through.
This is seriously awesome! I know you've been thinking about this for awhile. The first step is the hardest and you rock for deciding to take it.
And knowing you're taking advantage of MCC will make me feel a lot less bitter about the crazy millage we pay to help support that place
Double win!
Of course it gets easier! you learn the game as you go along. You figure out what they are looking for, and by your next to last term, you hear yourself saying "C me and free me". I can't imagine what I'll be saying once April gets here. And a friend who passed the bar said "There's a reason you only get two months between graduation and the bar- everything isn't important". I take comfort in that :-) I know you did well!
Not piddly- Awesome!! You will knock that out in no time.
C me and free me is awesome. That reminds me of undergrad senioritis.
I'm not quite done yet--still two more exams to go (torts on Thurs and contracts on Mon). But thanks for the vote of confidence! I've had so many people rooting for me over the semester and words cannot even express how grateful and touched I am for that. I think all of these wonderful people (many of them on this board) will never know what a difference they've made to me over the last three months.
Haha. I should try to get them to deduct the amount I pay off of my tuition bill (yes, I know, I am a super cheapskate.) But I pay that millage times 3! Haha.
Because of your rentals? Three times is a lot. Since we re-fi'd we no longer escrow, which means a closer look at the tax bill. L practically had puppies when he saw that millage.
You could try to get a deduction, but I think the reason that the millage is there is so tuition can be so affordable. I'm not sure what it is there, but if you want to feel a lot better about it check the tuition rates at any of the 4 year universities in the state.
Yes because of the rentals, and I was totally kidding about getting a reduction in tuition. Hehe.
Getting tax bills in the mail has been super interesting to me the past couple years. The ISD millage is high, and we also pay RP Debt (Reeths Puffer debt) for 2 of the houses - that one is annoying! Especially since we don't ever plan on stepping foot in the RP school system. But I know our taxes are a lot less than if we lived in the NM school disctrict, so whatever.
Plus school of choice might now work out (gasp!) and we may be sending a child or two to Puffer. Until we get in to NM or buy house in NM, whatever comes first...
Amachuta, finding recipies for the whole family to enjoy is huge! Congratulations!
B&G: awesome! Here's hoping the remainder flies by.
Des and Mol: yahoo! When I read yours, I couldn't stop grinning. Yay for you!
Complete side track from the point of this post, but I find the tax situation interesting, if somewhat annoying as well.
We also pay school debt. I think for MS. So our situation is very strange. We pay property tax to City of NS, but live [barely] within the GH school district, even though we are [barely] over the MKG county line. We don't pay taxes to any regular school district (other than the debt thing). I don't know if this is because we don't have children or because we don't live in MS SD. Either way, we don't get a separate tax bill from GH SD.
My former CW lives in Fruitport where taxes are ridiculously low (like seriously half what we pay). If everyone in MKG Co. is paying for MCC, how is it possible for her taxes to be so crazy low?! Shouldn't everyone within the expected range of MCC pay the same millage?
You have a very interesting situation!
And yes, I would think that everyone in Muskegon County should have to pay the MCC millage - including Fruitportians. That seems like the only fair way to do it.
And if I had my choice, why not just charge the residents of Orchard View school discrict with the MCC millage since that's where the school is located?
Our situation used to be even more interesting before NS got to use its own name for mail delivery and our mail came to SL. Although it might be even weirder still because we have the SL zip code, but now our city is listed as NS.
We sometimes buy Ottawa Co. park passes at the resident rate.
I totally agree with you on charging residents of OV the full cost of MCC. We should both run for our respective city councils on this platform! There is nothing better than serious passage of the buck!
Come on, Missy Na. Share yours!
