Re: SA Wednesday
I don't think that it's silly but I do hope you recognize that a vacation can provide some good rest for your brain and body. There have been many times that Bill has been super stressed and taking a couple of days off for a trip here or there has helped him relax and made going back to work easier. It doesn't have to be a major trip and it doesn't even have to be more than a long weekend in San Antonio or something else within driving distance.

You are thinking of taking the baby to Boston?
Bio Good Times
No my mom said she'd watch her while we go. Not sure I'm ready to travel far distances with a baby yet. Mom is watching here while we go to Lake Tahoe for my brother's wedding in June also. She said she will keep her as much as possible!
Yesterday was the first day of the trial for my family member. The state brought out one of the worst possible angles for why things went down like they did and because it is a sensational story the local media is all over it. My family is hanging on by a thread and could really use continued T&P.
BL - I understand that feeling. I feel the same way about a trip when we are likely about to have some serious OOP costs for fertility treatment. DH got a bonus and we could completely afford a trip on it and have some left over but I feel like I would kick myself when it came time to write a check for treatment.
Being an adult = suck.
MY BIL who is in the Navy is coming home for 10 days on Friday.
We're all so excited! Stephen and I both agreed that we're gonna make him dinner one night next week. He'll come home for 10 days, then hes off to Washington state for 2 years. He was one of the ones that they thought were exposed to radiation in Japan earlier this year when the tsunami hit. His ship wasnt too far from Japan, so they went in and helped all the people that were evacuated.
Tonight I'm making chicken primavera for DH and my FIL tonight.
Best of luck. Prayers!
BL - we are doing kind of the same thing, but for other reasons then a house. I think we all decide what's best for us and go from there. I really wanted to take advantage of the deal but with the new job I can't. I'll have to get use to not having PTO.

Is he ok now?? Any long term damage? That's great that he'll be with y'all for a while and state side way longer.

Take it from me - leaving a baby that young will be nearly impossible. I'd probably take her with me, or not go.

Hes great! He hasnt felt any after-effects at all. When they found out that they might have been exposed to it, they said if they were, it was VERY little. So no harm was done. My in-laws are planning a trip up to Washington for next July, and I think we're gonna try to go. Stephen will have accumulated enough vacation time, so hopefully we can go, and afford it.
That's what I was thinking - PTO is a must for me! haha

Prayers for your family, Leslie!
The "I can't believe you just did that" moments keep coming today. Grown people can be such idiots.

I'm not too concerned. DH probably couldn't get time off. SD can't miss school. I really don't know if I want to take a bunch of weeks unpaid and then be stressed about money. He probably thought about it for a bit yesterday and then completely forgot all about it. Now in June I will be leaving her because it is a long trip, 3 hour plane and 4 hour drive and then everything going on with the wedding. I know it will be super hard to leave her but I know she will be in the best possible care so that makes it a little easier. Plus I'm not going to miss my brother's wedding.
Leslie,
Thinking of you guys!
Dana,
I used to live in that area. Where exactly is the wedding and where are you flying in and out of? If you're flying into Reno, then the drive shouldn't be more than two and a half hours.
I only get about a week a year. It sucks but what can you do? She said she would work with me since this job is so much better about time off. I don't think I can take time off for a while after I start though. It's weird cause I've been here for 4 1/2 years so it's hard to think I can't just take time off when ever. There is enough staff to cover here... there it's a single physician so if I take off I have to really plan it out.

It is at Aston Lakeland Village. We are flying into SFO because it's about $1000-1200 cheaper. The drive from there looks to be 4 hours.
Okay, then that makes more sense. It's too bad about the price difference because the drive from Reno over to Tahoe is very pretty. However, you'll have a fairly pretty drive over from San Fran. too.
I just spent about 1000 years working on a holiday card for my office...in powerpoint. When I volunteered to do it I was thinking about Photoshop, completely forgetting this is a construction company not an architecture firm and there is no need for Photoshop here.
I still can't get the damn printer margin at the top to go away so I'll probably have to trim all the cards. ARGH.
1. I am super excited right now because my last big project of the year just got a little easier, because I stumbled upon some helpful info. It'd be greek if I tried to explain it, so basically, just yay for me.
2. TN's ads are crazy. I keep getting popups for Maggie Sottero gowns, and yesterday it was a fairly graphic (for work) picture of breastfeeding. Thanks, but neither of those apply to me these days.... I thought ads were supposed to be smart enough to be relevant?
Ugh, I'm getting the Maggie one too but this is the first time. Oh man, this has GOT to stop--I get one every time I move the mouse. No bueno.

Just do it!
