Good morning!
Weekend plans?
Re: Finally Friday
window shopping a bit today and going to the airport to p/u BFF's Boyfriend who is home on leave from Army training camp. Dinner tonight and then Christmas with them during the weekend.
Wendy - Sorry to here about DH's grandma. Has she been sick?
We are hosting an Ugly Sweater party tomorrow night. Other than that, I have no plans. Hopefully can squeeze in a nap or two.
My uncle was taken the the ER again last night, and this time they admitted him. He will be staying there till about Wednesday. He was having trouble breathing and was in a lot of pain.
My <other> uncle called me last night to keep me updated. He told me "I just don't see this ending well."

I told him not to give up, and that we all think about them everyday and pray for them and are pulling for them.
We sent the care package on Wednesday and it won't be there till Tuesday. I'm glad that my uncle will have something special waiting for him when he gets home from the hospital.
Oh no, T&P for the uncles.
Grandma had increasingly worsening alzheimers, then a couple of weeks ago parkinson's, just generally getting weaker and weaker, I think there was a fall in there. So no cancer or anything, just in general wearing out :-(
T&P for you too.
Sorry Wendy and Mol for your ill family members
T&P's to you both!
I am picking my little brother up from the train station tonight - he flew from Finland to Paris, Paris to Chicago, then the train into GR. I haven't seen him in 2 years, I am so excited!!
Fun! That is very exciting.
That is awesome! I love picking up people from the airport or train station. I always get really excited. You must be thrilled to see him again...have fun!!
Freeburger, what does your brother do in Finland?
Wendy and Mol, thoughts and prayers for your families.
He moved out there for a girlfriend (exchange student high school), and started college. It's FREE there, once you are a resident. Up to a masters degree I believe. He has since broken up with the girlfriend, but is staying to finish school. It's been hard to find work for him, but he does odd jobs here and there and lives with some friends he has made.
My weekend plans? Studying for the contracts final on Monday.
I decided to stay on the east side all weekend because it's probably better for my studying and just seemed to make more sense. I'm a little sad about it, but really trying not to focus on it being a "weekend" and just get in a lot of studying over the next three days. It will be be over before I know it and then I get to home and celebrate the end of semester #1.
FB--yay for seeing your brother!
Wendy, sorry about your husband's gma.
Molly--continued thoughts for your uncles.
DP, sounds like a good (though hard) choice.
Henry is going to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa T today while Jim and I finish up shopping for Willa and Henry, and then enjoy a kid-free lunch.
This weekend, I'm baking, and cookie exchanging with friends, and wrapping and making the (still undetermined) dish for Sunday's family celebration. You guys gave me some great suggestions. Thanks so much.
I'm officially a student!
I signed up for a PE class (blech...and I need 2 of them!) and I'm on the waitlist for Anthropolgy. Hopefully I can get into that one too.
I only remember 4 out of the 8 classes I need (2 PE's, Anthropology and Philosophy...and I probably only remember these because they are the ones I don't want to do...ha!), so I tried getting into those first since the semester starts in a few weeks. I need to see a couselor to figure out the other classes I need....
The only PE classes they still have open are Pocket Billiards and Leisure Games. Ugh! Seriously? Gross.
I totally signed up for pool. Ha.
I think it's SO annoying that you have to take PE classes to get a college degree, and even MORE annoying that pool is considered a PE class. They should get rid of that garbage and offer more of the walking, jogging, running classes.
YAY you! You might really like anthropology, if you have the right prof. If it's cultural anthro., it's like... academic people watching.
PE in college is silly. I don't get that.
Hang in there, you are SO close!!!
Congratulations!!!
I don't remember if PE was required for my UG degree, but I did take one PE class in my last year. I think it was physical fitness and I took it the semester before my wedding. We did a mix of things from plyometrics, weight lifting, running, to occasionally playing kickball. Between that class, my regular workouts and planning stress, I lost a ton of weight that semester. There was a one month period where my waist dropped three inches. My mom (who was also my dressmaker) wanted to kill me.
My brother took a bowling class at his CC.
Thanks for the encouragement, Molly and GRSP.
One of my classmates said law school finals are like running a marathon with your brain. That is a perfect description of what it feels like. I'm getting plenty of sleep, but still feel so unbelievably worn out and exhausted.
I was reading the class description and it sounds SO much more interesting to me now than it did when I was 18.
My sister had this same teacher and she said she was awesome.
That's so odd, where are you going again? I'm pretty sure I didn't have to take any sort of PE at GVSU. I did take a music appreciation class for 1 credit just because that one credit would tip me over into being able to register for classes in an earlier wave. I had everything mapped out, I was determined to get through college as fast as possible. Even took summer classes. Did it in 3 years, yay.
It's Friday wohoo. I am think I am going to leave laundry to do until tomorrow since I will probably just do all my chores tomorrow. I have an interview for a part time position (this would be a 2nd job) at the bowling alley after work. I hope I get it.
That is pretty incredible!
I took a lot of summer classes, too and finished in five years, but I took a couple semesters off and sometimes only took 9 credits in a semester to accommodate working a lot of hours.
That is seriously awesome.
It will take me about 11-12 years just for an associates. Ha! All I cared about when I was in college (17-19) were friends, boys, and partying.
So mature.
Wendy, I'm going to Muskegon CC.
Don't be too hard on yourself. You're doing it now, that's what matters. We all are ready for different stages of life at different times. Even though part of me wishes 1L were five years in my past right now, I firmly believe that I'm in the right place at the right time.
You do what you can, when you can and there's no point in dwelling on what's in the past and unchangeable. Think about all of the wonderful things you did during those years--you bought a house which set you up to become a landlord now, you traveled a lot, you had a son. All of that has put you where you are now.
Very exciting, D&MJ!
Mike comes home tomorrow!! I am so excited for him to be back. A week isn't very long but I still missed him.
We have his Dad's family Christmas party on Sunday. Still not sure what I am going to bring. My MIL told me not to bother bringing my cheesy potatoes that I normally make. Whenever I bring them, the whole pan is emptied. I know the family likes them, but she said that people really prefer her macaroni and cheese. So she will just make 2 pans of that. Whatever, lady.
I half-hope that Mike feels too much like a zombie to go and that we can stay home instead.
Oh my!!! Is she normally like this?
