How so? The writing on the card is closer than the writing on the poem (I dion't usually dot my "i"s or have my sentences line up all nice and pretty). You have no idea how long it took to write that out so you could actually read it. I have the most awful handwriting ever because of the cramps and spasms I get in my fingers.

Mostly because it was thin and slanty and elegant? I don't know, it just seemed plausible.

Mara said I have nice handwriting too, which is weird. I have pretty awful regular handwriting, though my math/physics handwriting is nice.

YAY! Thank you so much! Seriously, those are all things that I would have gotten for myself. When I posted them on FB, my sister was like "Wow, someone knows you well" haha.

Oh, and I posted this on TK wonky thread, but BK is right, I was her SS. It was so much fun shopping for you, BK, and I'm so glad you love the Tea Rex because he is awesome. The website I bought him from was FredFlare.com. They sell lots of cool, quirky stuff like that. I even bought flowers-in-a-can from Fred Flare for my BMs gifts for our wedding.

I know who I was SS for knows who I am because I completely suck at being sneaky.

I was tempted to avoid return addresses altogether and drop it off on your doorstep (I was literally in your neighborhood on Saturday!), but I decided that might be a little creepy, lol. I'm really glad you liked it! I told H you said you liked useful things so he helped me shop, because he does too.

I just AW'd on SB this morning: LINK!

My SS took DMills' suggestion of a conservative/liberal gift exchange to heart , and sent me an "Apocalypse Cakes: Recipes for the End" cookbook to warm my heathen heart, and a 365 day calendar called "Strange Brew: Bagging on the Tea Party." I'm trying really hard not to flip through it, because I want to enjoy it one day at a time next year. There were also two adorable snowmen, cat and dog toys -- one for each of my two cats and four dogs! -- and a Christmas sweater t-shirt for H, who has been boasting of his newfound freedom to "bare arms" (now that he is an honorary American, lol). I love the entire gift, and everyone who has seen it -- I've been AWing it around work, too! -- thinks it's hilariously appropriate.

I know from the card that she's a Republican and the return address that she's in Ohio -- so I'm going to guess DMills?

You would be correct I'm so happy that you liked the stuff. I loved that cookbook so much. It's so wrong, and bad, but so funny. I thought you'd be able to appreciate the humor in the way it was written.

Your picks for favorite cakes are also two of my favorites, and as wrong as it is, I laughed pretty hard at the BP oil spill cake.

And I know exactly what you mean: I laughed at the Hurricane Katrina Superdome Cake... and then felt so guilty about it that I actually kind of looked around to make sure no one noticed! (The cat did, but he's half demonspawn himself and didn't care.)

Also, confession? After we got into it on SB about OWS, I was all "OMG, what if she's my SS!" -- not because I thought you'd stiff me (I didn't!), but because my biggest fear going into this was someone being disappointed to draw me. I was so excited to draw Girlie that I actually cheered, and I didn't want to provoke the opposite reaction in anyone I may have offended, since know I can be kind of a snarky b. (and the b. doesn't stand for "bride" *cough*) in political threads. Since then, I've paid much more attention to your posts and have come to admire your ability to inject humor into politically tense -- or just tense -- conversations. As soon as I opened the gift, I knew it had to be you! I'm only sorry I don't have a baby to send you, in lieu of a thank you note.

Yay! I am proud of myself for guessing right. My 6th sense, and the fact that IN is in your SN are spot on. I love it! I use my new mug all the time. I also hung the snowflakes on our front picture windows with little suctiony hooks, everyone has been complimenting them. Thank you so much.
