Clicky Poll: Student Loan Debt

Re: Clicky Poll: Student Loan Debt

  • My parents paid for what scholarships didn't cover for all of my education and I worked through most of college so I didn't have any loans. S had a little bit in loans that we paid off a few years ago and then we cash flowed the rest of his education.

  • Oh heck yes we do. We both have law school debt - I think between the two of us, it's about $85K. It'll take us a while to pay those suckers off.

  • I don't -- undergrad was paid for entirely by scholarships, and we paid for my M.M. out of pocket. He, however, still has a mountain of loans for law school, but there really isn't any other way to afford it unless you're loaded, so it's no big deal.

I do look forward to the day when he's done with them all. He's actually putting more than the minimum toward them each month so they should be done sooner than originally planned. That will free up soooooooo much money lol.

  • DH doesn't have any student loan debt, but I do. I think we still owe ~20k and my interest rate is around 4% (I think it's 4.25 but I'm not positive).

I don't even want to know what I'd owe if I had more than a B.S. My mom finished her Master's in nursing last year and mentioned that her payments now are ~$1,000/month Indifferent. Made me feel a heck of a lot better about the $200/month we pay.
