Re: SA Wednesday
What about Jay? Do you like that? ..or Jim. We have a James called Jim at our office.
ETA: I just realized that my post has nothing to do with what you asked. Post Fail. (See? this is why I should avoid conversations that involve progeny)
Well the wrapping paper for one. I would strain to hear what she told Santa....then later she would think of something else and write Santa a letter (which of course I had to open and read). One year I paid $24 to have something she asked for last minute overnight shipped to us so it would be there--it was a huge pink puppy dog from Blue's Clues if I remember correctly. Me and ex-hubby ate all the cookies and drank all the milk left for Santa (but we would be sure and leave some crumbs and stuff on the plate to make it look legit). I think one year ex-hubby even made reindeer prints outside or something.
Stuff like that.

Tiffany - no, that is helpful also! Jay is on my list of options, but not Jim, because MIL's a-hole husband is Jimmy (nn for James also), and I don't want there to be any confusion with him thinking that he influenced our future child's name in any way, shape or form. But, nicknames of James are okay too!
I'm not exactly answering your question but I'm saying it anyways. My friend is naming their kid David something after some relatives and since there are so many David's in their family, they are calling him by his initials: D. H.
Other options for James III: Initials JT or whatever, Jameson or JJ. Jacub, for J^3 (J-cubed). There's also Jim or Jimmy.
I'm currently listening to George W's book and the thought has crossed my mind how Barbara differentiated between the two George's at home growing up.
Yep, James and Jacob are both the same word in Hebrew. If I had paid attention in class, I could tell you what they were but I'm a slacker.
OMG!!!! Something moderately similar actually happened last year when they came to visit. They were mad at both of us because we each ordered our own individual pizza and had dessert just to kind of rub it in. This. is. awesome.
Daniel's dad and younger brother are both named Gary, and to this day, even though his brother is 25, we still call them Big Gary & Little Gary. Kinda weird now that you mentioned it.
Julie, I swear I woke up laughing this morning at this! In my dream you were just telling us the story but I was also seeing it as it all happened.
I thought the whole thing about the pepperoni rolls was hilarious since so many people have been talking about them.

LMAO.
This is so sweet and gave me ideas on things to do with my son. I always use different wrapping paper than the other gifts. This year we are going to start the milk and cookies since he understands who Santa is. Thanks for sharing.
This just happened to me. Cadence saw Santa yesterday and came up with gifts that she has NEVER mentioned before.
I had to go to Amazon this morning and order more like a mad woman!
Bio
I got presents from Santa up until my mom died. Last year was the first year to not get presents from Santa and it was really hard. My parents asked us several years ago if we still wanted presents from Santa and my brother and I both said yes (we never got presents from our parents).
My brother was devastated when he found out about Santa--some jerks in his class told him and then made fun of him.
I just finished making one of my mother's ambrosia cakes because my brother loves it. I have never tried it but now I kind of want to. It was pretty easy to make so I may be making it more often.
Andy's family has a Big Mark, Middle Mark, and Little Mark. "Little" Mark's mom told me recently that they also used to call him "IBM" for "Itty Bitty Mark." Now, at 26, he's the tallest of all three.

They did. We're on there. Befriend me? We had fun this year doing them!
so we found a perfect house on friday and put in an offer. we got the counter offer today - its not only $6k over what we originally bid...but its also over the asking price. turns out the seller can't go any lower than THAT number - because that's the amount left on the loan.
we have to retract our offer because we can't afford the upped price, down payment - and we know it'll need a few slight repairs.
talk.about.disappointed.
Ahhh, I'm so sorry, Ashlee. You'll find one, I just know it.
Hee, I've been there! Oh the things we will do for our kids!

Ashlee- ah that's a bummer! house-searching/buying is no bueno.
Leslie, stay positive! prayers your way!
As for Santa, I totally see the magic in the illusions and stuff, but, I know I was SUPER upset when I heard Santa wasn't real.. I'm not sure about how I feel just yet on that. Maybe still have the santa presents, aka the BIG one unwrapped and ready to go.. but without the santa title.
Lastly, went to a referred dermatologist today as my surgeon from last wk wanted me to have an area of my skin on my "cleavage" area checked out. Thought it'd just be a check-up like thing, and then 2 minutes later they are giving local anesthetic for a biopsy. Ah! So thankful the lady gave me extra anesthetic just to make sure. I'm a baby when it comes to a razor blade looking thing near my boobs! haha. DH was there to hold my hand, thankfully. and keep me from looking.
I like the Tripp option! but i'm one for odd names.
Oh, I've heard of parent's doing that before so it's not that out there like I was expecting. I think it's all cute!
