How do you hang yours?
We used to have cute stocking hangers but I can't seem to locate them. When we moved in here, there were nails up from previous owners so we used those last year. I've also seen some used screw-in hook under the mantle, but I wonder if they might lose their gripping if removed and replaced each year....especially since our stockings tend to get *loaded* down.
Re: Stockings
We had nails in the mantle in our last house.
This house DH built a gorgeous mantle for us & we don't want to put nails in it, so stockings have not gone up yet.
I bought mantle clips from Target but our mantle is too thick. I don't like the things that just sit on top, because I can see someone pulling the stocking down and that thing on her head. Our mantle is brick, and rrr doesn't want to drill into it.

For now, none of our stockings are hanging, especially as mine is only 1/3 knit. It's a good thing we won't be here for Christmas!
We use stocking holders. We don't put anything in them when they are hanging. On Christmas morning, they are all on the floor next to the pile of presents/Santa gifts.
Stockings are pretty much the best part about Christmas presents. Although now that I had to fill four this year, I realize how much work/money went into our stockings every year. Thanks, Mom.
ditto the bold.
hmm. Good idea. Never thought of that as ours were always hanging.
This.
My baby isn't yet tall enough to pull on the stockings. I gave big brother a stern warning about the stocking holders. They have been up for several weeks, and he has only pulled one down once. Our holders are heavy but not super heavy. They're from Target, and I suspect pricier ones would be heavier and thus more dangerous. I wouldn't put anything in the stockings because these would fall down.
