Teachers and Moms - gift question

Would you rather get a gc for a mani/pedi (they both live near school so I can get one right there) or a DD gift card (also DD is right across from the school but I have never seen them with coffe, LOL, so I am not SURE they would like it)

TIA!

Re: Teachers and Moms - gift question

  • The thing with mani/pedi GCs is that - although they are nice - they may have their "own" place... I know my mom is really nervous about getting manis/pedis anywhere other than the spa, and I will only go to certain places. So DD might be a better option... or a spa finder GC could work, too...

Hmmm . . . I did not think of that.  I only checked to make sure neither one has tips/wraps.  Good point!

  • if their nails are regularly done then they prob have their own place like pp said.

but for me who can't afford to get my nails done regularly (if ever) i would LOVE a mani/pedi gc over coffee anyday!

  • I think I'd be equally thrilled with either!

  • I know this is not what you asked, but we just get them amex GCs or the like, that way they can use it on whatever they want in case they don't like coffee, or manis, or whatever.

Although I would be happy with both, I personally would prefer a mani/pedi b/c I have no problem stopping to get myself a coffee but rarely treat myself to a mani/pedi.

  • i'm a teacher... i think the DD gift card would be better. the mani/pedi GC is a great idea, but its kind of a personal thing. they might have their own place they go, or just might not like getting them.

DD has a lot more options- if they don't like coffee or donuts, they can use it for hot chocolate, a bagel for lunch, i think they even have some other lunch type stuff now, too...

  • I looked on spafinder and there are very few options in my immediate area.  So that doesn't really make sense for me to do . . .hmm.

  • Mani/pedi - I drink tea. ;)

I go regularly, but I don't have a 'place'. Sometimes I go near work, sometimes near home.

  • DD - they can get other foods and drinks there too.

i love mani/pedis, but most people are pretty particular about where they go for one

  • Ask the school's director (this is DC, right?) - they should be able to help w/ GC preferences. My directors help me every year with this. :)
  • Honestly...neither. I don't drink coffee/tea and I won't get my nails done after a horrible experience I had.

This is why we did VISA gift cards. You just never know what someone is going to like unless you've physically seen them in the salon multiple times or with a DD cup in their hand every morning.

  • I'm also a neither girl, but DD is more universal.
