Nothing wrong with Cozumel, Puppy! I say go for it as long as you won't be overdrafting your checking account or something. I'd kill to do Christmas on a beach!
Oh, my FFFC: I judge when people gush about how much they love the song "Baby It's Cold Outside." Seriously, people, that song should be named "Baby I'm About to Date Rape You."

Well, my uncles are OFFICIALLY being unhelpful so...ugh. I am so mad. Like bawling my eyes out. I am so annoyed to be stuck here for the next four days. Like annoyed enough I will probably end up at work on Monday. goddamn it. I HATE THE HOLIDAYS!!!

I saw you guys mention this on FB, but I don't get it. I don't see it at date-rapey at all. He's trying to convince her to stay, sure, but talking someone into it isn't exactly rape.

To me, it just seems like he's very pushy to the point of not being quite right. She's trying to get out the door, but he's pulling out every trick in the book to get her to stay. Not to mention, on the score the different parts are called "Mouse" and "Wolf."
Oh, and that "Say, what's in this drink?" line... that's the one that really gets me and screams "date rape."

I can see your point with the drink comment, but I don't think the guy trying to talk the girl into staying is all that uncommon. You can't be talked into it if you don't want to stay.

VENT:: I am/was thrilled to have a child to spend the holidays with these days but who knew that would make things so much more difficult. My MIL is effing nuts! For some odd reason she just really does not understand that Christmas morning is Mom, Dad, child(ren) and our own private gift exchange! I invited ILS (grandparents, and parents) over to our house and cooked a hell of a meal on Christmas Eve to try and please her and get her to understand that they are not welcome at our home on Christmas morning. B got 2 gifts yesterday, (and I know how sh1tty this sounds) that maybe totaled $20. We spent at least $30 per person X 5 people. The reason B only got 2 gifts.... I sort of demanded that FILs mother be invited because IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO! MIL did not think it was appropriate to give B the original gifts from her and the other great grandparents because they do not exchange gifts with said grandmother. What?!?! I am of the belief that when it comes to gifts on Christmas the children come well before any adult. They also left without helping Jesse and I clean up or take care of any of the dishes. I honestly started bawling 5 seconds after telling them goodbye.
My stove/oven/range bit the dust yesterday... Just after I took the bread out. Thank goodness everything was cooked, it has no power to it at all and the part to fix it, costs 30% of the original price. No thanks, time to go shopping tomorrow!
My mixer also bit the dust yesterday, about half way through whipping the potatoes.
Christmas Eve this year was just a freaking mess, I was happy to go to sleep last night and start a new day.
AW: My DH and my parents took such great care in making today super special for us today. B got to enjoy her first Christmas and we got to start some wonderful traditions. I seriously do think that children make the stress of the holidays all worth it (for me at least... yes even when thinking back to my first vent)!
B is sick, and has been off and on really since Thanksgiving. Ear infections suck! She now has a terrible yeasty rash from antibiotics that didn't really come up until Friday night. I really think it is crazy how kids get sick just after normal business hours on a holiday weekend. It is terrible to see plain water hurt your child. I have become an even crunchier hippy mama this weekend and I really believe that breastmilk has special powers, that *** is amazing!
I also scheduled B's birthday party and I CAN NOT WAIT! I am so freaking excited to see it all come together. I am determined to not be a mama that cries because her baby turns 1.
Wait, so your MIL got mad that someone else got your kiddo a gift and not just her?
To be fair though, I dont think it's a given that Christmas morning is only for parents/child. We invited the inlaws and all of my siblings over to see Connor open gifts and such on Christmas morning and that works great for our families.

Oh I agree but but it has been laid out that DH and I want Christmas morning to be just us without grandparents or other family.
