QOTD Wednesday (2012)

2»

Re: QOTD Wednesday (2012)

  • 1. TTC #3, hopefully with a BFP sooner rather than later.

    2. If TTC doesn't work out, run another marathon or at least a half marathon.

    3. Also if TTC doesn't work out, lose another 10-15 pounds.

    3. Increase our savings so we have more of a cushion when DH's political appointment runs out in 2012 in case he doesn't find another job right away.

    4. Take a vacation with DH and at least one family vacation.

  • I'm kind of embarrassed to post these because some are such "duh" things that a real grown up (especially a parent) should already do, but here goes:

    -Get a will

-Get real life insurance (beyond the one year of salary kind we have through work)

    -Find myself a PCP

-Take care of all the piddly sh!t around the house that bugs me and really get it prepped for rental

-Hopefully, upgrade to house #2 but I've been saying that for awhile now, so it's kind of lost its impact . . .

    imageHey Jellisy:

    Think about having another LO

    Weeeee!   Yes

Thank you.  I'm ready, but we decided to wait till this summer to TTC for purely terrible reasons, I want maternity leave when it's warm out and so I can pull DS from DCP before preschool starts in the fall and have DD skip summer camp.   The finances are so scary for daycare - I have no idea how you do it - thank god it will only be for a year before DD goes to kindergarten and the $$ reprieve begins.

  • 1. Lose these last 7 lbs, finally!

    2. Pay off all or most of our credit card debt

    4. Take a big trip with just me and DH (haven't since our honeymoon)

    3. Go off birth control (!)

    4. Run the Cherry Blossom 10-miler in the Spring, and maybe another 1/2 marathon in the fall (depending on how #3 goes...)

  • -Get a Wii Fit and exercise 3-4 days/week

-Go on a cruise with DH

-Start TTC (this is more like my hope, because we won't be able to unless DH gets a permanent job and we get a decent health insurance plan)

-Finish my quilt (already been working on it for 2 years!  yikes!)

    -Move to a bigger apartment

    -Start a grad program

-And last and least likely of all, quit my job.  I'm not very happy there, and it's not even full-time.  My dream is to be a SAHW/M, but it won't happen unless DH can get a better job.

  • Late to this game, I've been out of town. Anyway:

    1. get back into fitness and healthy eating. I was able to really focus and get to my goal weight in July but since then I haven't been as good about going to the gym (although I've managed to eat OK so that I haven't really gained weight)
    2. conversely  . . . get pregnant again and have a healthy pregnancy
    3. somehow get out of our condo (either refinancing/renting it out or selling it) and moving into a new place, whether we rent or buy it
    4. stay credit card-debt free
    5. pay off one of DH's student loans
    6. as for work, take some more training/expand my skills and maintain my high evaluation rating
    7. spend some time de-cluttering the house (especially if #2 happens)

  • My biggest hope/goal is that we can get our financial house in order so we can decide if we're going to be child-free or TTC in 2013 (realistically, we need a year of good, solid savings before we do).

I also would like to get back to running, or at least walking, now that I am rehabbed from my back/hamstring issue of the summer and get confident enough with riding a bike to ride with DH.

    5) This is kind of my big crazy dream, but I want to start taking classes to become a certified lactation consultant. Because I have no science/medical background I need to start from scratch, basically taking biology, anatomy, physiology, nutrition, etc. So in the summer/fall, I hope to start taking one class at a time. Breastfeeding has been such an important experience for me, and I really would love to be able to help women work through the challenges they may face in the beginning.

This is great! I actually looked into this, too. I think if I was asked one of those "what would you do if you could have any job in the world"-type questions, this would be my answer. You'd be a great LC!

Thank you! I kind of figured out a timeline and it will take at least 4-5 years probably. Yikes! But I decided to start out with the academic classes to see if I can even get through them, and then I'll work on the rest.

  • To sell our current place and buy a new place tops the list.

For DHs health to improve. He is doing everything right and keeping a good attitude so I hope it pays off in 2012.

Not really a goal but looking forward to traveling again. We have two vacations planned and I am so excited :-)
