I know, I know, Christmas isn't all about presents.

But I always like to see everyone's loot anyway. Any terrific gifts, tangible or otherwise? Any complete surprises? Any totally bizarre ones?
Re: Christmas loot?
I'll play. Here's what I got:
Mom and Dad got me this lovely rose gold watch.
H got me a comfy hoodie from my favorite band with this nifty illustration on the back. He also got me a Kindle Touch and a cover, which I'm already addicted to.
I know Vera Bradley stuff is slightly old lady-chic, but I'm loving this hanging organizer my brother and SIL got me. So perfect for traveling.
Okay, this wasn't something I got, but I bought H this manly iPhone case from a website called Kara's Kustoms. He. Loves. It.
We got SD a Nintendo DS, and she hasn't gotten to open it yet, so I'm looking forward to that.
No big surprises for me this year. My big gift was this from H [that we picked up during black friday sales and i have been using since i got it three weeks ago]:
He got me a new OSU shirt and hoodie, too. Love the hoodie - it's super comfy.
My parents got me a new Coach bag, some awesome jewelry [buckle ring, blue topaz ring, a birthstone set in JJ's birthstone and three sets of earrings], a new throw for my couch, a sweater dress and some work clothes. The coolest thing I got from them, though, was electric salt and pepper shakers. Love them. They were also going to pay for part of my trip to a bowl game, but since I'm not going, that got tossed out the window - they got me Thunder tix to a couple of games instead.
My sister got me a new set of cookie sheets, mixing bowls, K-Cups for my Keurig and a 2012 planner. The mixing bowls are super cute and my fave gift from her.
My mom got me: vanity chair, full length mirror with a jewelry box behind it, new dinnerware to match our new kitchen, and various other smaller things.
H got me: beautiful cowgirl boots, a few outfits, and some Miss Me jeans (which I'm taking back. I'm just not that into them)
I also got a ton of Amazon gift cards for my Kindle and a new pressure cooker.
H got me a Kindle (which I'm loving!), pjs, scarves, and Urban Decay naked palette.
My mom and the ILs got me a lot of smaller gifts (robe, socks, slippers, lotion, coach perfume) and some gift cards and cash.

I finally got the Urban Decay Naked Palette - I have tomorrow off of work and plan to spend all day in the bathroom playing with it (and watching You Tube tutorials).
I also got my bag!!! The Chanel Chain Me hobo - I love her so much (this is from purseblog, I did not take this photo)!
Ignoring the "stuff" though - this is the best Christmas I have had probably ever. Between SD and how much fun we had with her (especially after the Thanksgiving disaster) to Christmas weekend which started out depressing due to not being able to go to my grandparents...it was so much fun. We rotted our brains on Saturday by watching the RHONJ, made a ginormous dinner of PW Spaghetti and Meatballs Saturday night, I made a turkey on Sunday and then we had a fabulous dinner at the Skirvin Sunday night. We went to Dallas on Monday to hang out with our friends...it was just the best.
My SIL (who works for Fossil) and BIL got me a watch
In-laws bought us a glider that looks like this and a new camera
I got a new eye palette that I'm loving:
and the parents surprised me with a diaper bag that I never would have bought myself
From all sorts of family, I got some lovely scarves, a couple of B&N gift cards (score!), pj pants that I'm wearing right now that are a perfect fit, a really soft throw, and some small books, a few kitchen things, and free movie passes.
H is getting me new floors, and that should happen soon.
You can't throw this on out there and not give more details. DETAILS!
H and I are going to go pick something out together for the house rather than buying each other gifts.
My favorite gift was an Avett Brothers hoodie from the ILs. I also got a shirt I wanted from Tree and Leaf (awesome local company), a really cute headband from Collected Thread, and some comfy yoga pants.
The ILs also got us a family gift of Mario Kart for Wii along with two inflatable carts that you put the controllers in. The kids and H have had a blast with them.
My grandmother on my dad's side is super crafty and always does great handmade gifts. My favorite from her was a personalized journal made from one of those composition notebooks, along with a bookmark that says, "Life is short. READ FAST."
Woohoo!
I am so not the person to ask, as I'm a total newbie to the DSLR world. MIL picked it out, but we decided to keep the one she got us. It's a Canon Rebel T3, which is Canon's entry level DSLR. We thought about upgrading to the T2i, which is the next step up. I talked to a couple of people and decided that the T3 really fits our needs (baby pics, family shots, keepsake stuff) and that we would save the extra money for another lens or two once we get the hang of using this camera. I'm not looking to become an amateur photographer. I just want nice, clear photos of baby boy and memories that I would be proud to hang on our walls or put in Christmas cards. Apparently one of the reasons TO upgrade would be the increased megapixels on the higher level DSLRs, but we're not going to be blowing anything up beyond 8xll or so.
Another camera that was recommended to us was the Nikon D3100 as a good beginner DSLR.
Maybe blinking or jlimberg can add more...?
kayleeb - Which Kindle did you get? I had researched different Kindles and Nooks pre-Christmas and getting overwhelmed, so I was relieved when H just bought me the Kindle Touch. Now I don't have to make the decision, and I really love it.
critti - Yay for band hoodies! I need to pick up an Avett one too.
Also, LOVE Tree and Leaf - which one did you get?
Oh, sorry! Well, when the house flooded back in November, we never put the carpet padding back under the carpet in the hallway, because we knew we were planning on re-doing the flooring in there. It's just laminate, an extension of the bedroom (cat-room) flooring we installed when the house flooded the first time. We have a friend who knows how to install laminate, so he and his able-bodied friend are going to help us install them.
Nothing fancy, but at least it won't be dirty. We'll do the hallway, entryway, and my office (a small 4th bedroom) for sure. It depends on how much it costs us to do that much and we'll see what we do from there
From the office: bracelets, Starbucks gift card, restaurant gift card, candy, monogram bag, foot massage cream and fuzzy socks, home decor
From DH: Just Dance 3, pjs, lounge pants, a cute scarf and mittens set, a trash can and doormat (I really needed these, lol!), Winnie the Pooh DVD, iTunes gift card, book
From parents: restaurant gift cards, money, sweater, candy, socks, pjs (my dad got me red fleece Mickey and Minnie ones...kind of ? but they are comfy, lol), heating pad, blanket, lotion
From ILs: monogram bag, BBW set, wine, scrapbook kit, jewelry, money, candy, office supplies, lunch tote
Yay! You will save mucho dinero by installing it yourselves.
I got a nice watch from my sister. The FIL and MIL gave us a Kindle Fire- but H has already claimed it as his new toy so I probably won't use it much. Other than that, we did mainly small presents. I got lots of socks and chocolate. My favorite gift was the $1 rubber doorstops my mom gave us, after I told her we were propping the bedroom door open with a cardboard box!
MIL gave everyone baseball hats with LED lights under the brim. Sounds bizarre, but it will be useful for walking the dogs after dark.
MH got me the kindle touch.
My parents basically gave me money because we had some family emergencies pre-Christmas that kept my mom from getting her shopping done. I also got a few shirts and a kindle gift card.
We still haven't done Christmas with the ILs.
H gave me a belt with a little tiny pouch on it to put my keys in when I run...kind of like a fanny pack, except much, much smaller. I'd been storing my keys in my sports bra before, because I have room to spare in there.
He also gave me The Help, a book about running, and a gift certificate to my favorite make-your-own-soap store. We kept it really tight this year due to the house-saving thing.
My parents gave me some running shirts, a North Face moisture wicking fleece jacket, some Urban Decay eyeliners, and a couple of OU shirts (which unfortunately I must exchange for a different size, boo).
From the in-laws, I got some money and an Ann Taylor gift card. Yay! I like that store. I've already spent the Christmas money on my first pair of knee-high black boots: http://www.amazon.com/Clarks-Womens-Cardy-Boot-Black/dp/B001W6RSUG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325181793&sr=8-1
I think they're pretty classic looking, and they got rave reviews online. I hope they last decades.
My sister gave me a pair of REI running tights, which I sorely needed, and her bf gave me the exact same reflective running vest that I gave him, except he'd included Swiss chocolates in his package. We did some modeling of our new vests.
What book did you get bluekid?
Also, before I started running, I totally made fun of my sister for her fanny pack. Yeah, I've recently upgraded to the double pouch ifitness belt. Hypocrisy, party of one.
HA! Wendy, when I opened it, he said, "I swear this isn't a fanny pack! It's to put your keys in." I used it yesterday, and I love the blasted thing already. It doesn't move around or bounce or anything. The book he got me was Runner's World Complete Book of Women's Running: The Best Advice to Get Started, Stay Motivated, Lose Weight, Run Injury-Free, Be Safe, and Train for Any Distance. Longest title EVER, huh? It looks like it'll be a good one.
I've eyed that book for some time. Let me know how it is!
H and I never buy each other gifts, but this year we decided to buy for each other.
He TOTALLY surprised me with this:
It meant a lot to me though, because he used some of his Christmas bonus money (which he had planned to spend on something for himself) to buy this for me (instead of just using "our" money).
I bought this for myself with some money the IL's gave me:
My parents bought me this:
and this (I need a new one for home BADLY):
And other miscellaneous clothing, jewelry, gift cards, books...
Dang girls we really made out this year!
McGill--love the rose gold watch. I was debating between two tone silver/rose and solid rose when SIL asked me to pick a watch. I think I want the solid yellow gold like that one for my bday. Also, I will always like some Vera Bradley, despite the haters. I blame it on my small town Texas roots and sorority girl background.
Blinking--girl, you scored this Christmas! Awesome loot.
Wendy--Thanks! I was totally going to get a gray, functional messenger diaper bag that DH wouldn't mind carrying, but then when I got this one as a gift I couldn't stand to return it. Looks like baby boy and DH are stuck with a flowery bag. I'm in love with the glider...that was my one expensive "want" for baby purcases. You're going to love the Naked palette. I got it last January and have gotten sooo much use out of it.
Kaylee and Puppy--Like I just said to Wendy, you're going to love UD Naked! I use mine all the time and it's just so versatile. I thought being fair it might not work for me, or for conservative daily wear, but nope! I use it almost every day.
Thanks! I love yours, too. I had the toughest time picking one out. I almost picked the rose gold one with one row of crystals around the dial, like yours. Love the solid gold one, too. Fossil watches are great!
McGill- I just got the most basic Kindle. I'm glad H got it for me, I don't think I ever would've bought it for myself, but I love it way more than I thought I would! Now I have to find a cute case. Anyone know where they sell cute Kindle cases besides online? I checked Target but their selection isn't that great.
Lizzy- I am completely in love with the Naked Palette so far! It's so incredibly easy to use! I've been wanting it for a while now, but wasn't sure if it was worth the price. I definitely think it's worth it now that I've used it!
Wendy & Blue - I used to tease MIL about her running "fannypack" until I started running and got one for myself! Those things are awesome! What kind did you get, Blue? SpiBelt? FuelBelt?

Ive had a few, but my favorite is the iFitness belt. The fuel belt flopped around too much. This is the one I have.

I have the 3rd generation (keyboard, 3G + wifi) kindle and I found a better case selection at best buy.
I completely agree about the Naked Palette. I've had it almost 2 weeks now and I love it.
