Your TV(s)

Answer only if you have a flat screen:

What size TV(s) do you have and are you happy with your choice?

I want a new one, as we still have one of those huge tube ones, but I can't seem to pick a size.

TIA

Re: Your TV(s)

  • We have a 60" downstairs and I love it. We watch most of the Huskers fb games & some movies on it.

  • We have a 42" in the bedroom.  Our room is pretty big, so it works.  I was happy with the 27" we had in there, but DH wanted something bigger.  The 27" is now in my sewing room.

There is a 56" in the upstairs living room, and I'm happy with the size.  I think the size works well with the fireplace it sits above.

In the basement we have a projector, and the screen size is something like 120".  I thought that was going to be ridiculous when we were finishing the basement, but I really like it.  It's great for watching football games and movies.  It's nice when we have people over because everyone can see the screen from anywhere in the room.

  • We have a 27" in our bedroom.  It seems so small but we rarely watch it.

We have a 56" in the living room and love it!

We have a 46" (I think) downstairs on the wall and it's perfect for our space.  The room is longer than it is wide so we couldn't go much bigger.

  • We have 2, 32inch TV's, one in our bedroom and one in the family room. And we have a 42inch in the living room. I think it really depends on the room and how close you are sitting to the TV. BIL has a 60 inch and it's WAY too big, IMO. I think our 42inch is the biggest I would ever want to go.

  • We have a 26" in the bedroom and 32" in the living room. I personally think the 26" is fine, but Devon thought it was too small for the living room. I think the flat screens tend to look bigger than their tube counterparts.
  • We have a 50" LG Plasma tv. We love it!

  • We have a 46" in our living room...and it's the perfect size as we can't really go bigger with the trim we have above the mantle where it hangs. We have a 32" in our bedroom and like that size for in there. We have a 20-something one and a 19-ish one too. Our basement one is a 60....It really just depends on usage, space, and preference!

  • We have a 46 inch in our living room and at first I thought it was way to big (going from a 25 inch tube) but now that I'm used to it I don't think that I would want to go smaller.

I think that we are going to get something in the 30's for our room next year and one for C's room with a DVD player built in next year as well.

  • We have a 46" Samsung in the basement and it could be a tad bigger but it works well.  Our bedroom has a 32" Vizio which is a good size for the space.

  • We have 1 flat screen tv. It's a 32 inch in our sun room. It's a Sony. Energy Star. Great picture. We're very happy with it. We have it hooked to our mac mini and use it for internet tv watching only. We never use it for regular watching.

  • Well, I think this thread has helped quite a bit. I now want a gigantic T.V. because all my internet friends have one. Gee, thanks guys. Stick out tongue My husband and wallet aren't pleased with any of you.

No, in all seriousness, thanks to the advice, I've decided to do more research and have measured the space between where the T.V. will be and where people will sit, I think I have determined that I will want a bigger T.V. than I first thought. We have an open concept house and I don't want to be squinting when I am walking around.
