Re: Tuesday randoms

  • I'm taking care of all of my randoms before closing the computer up for a while.

Henry is really missing Willa today (it's her first day back to school).  He's asked me a few times "when is it time to go get Willa?"  We've been busy with Matchbox cars and coloring, but I'm no Willa. ;)

  • I've been browsing the Gardening Board on Pinterest also.

Our living room is back to "normal" I was going to do the outside but if is friggin cold so I'll hold off on that. I need 1 more large container to pack up what is left.

  • Nick and I found out on NYE that SIL is "talking to" a married man.  Surprise Stupid, stupid, stupid.  There are thousands of single men running around, why consider a married one for even a second?  We had to pry it out of her on why their relationship/friendship is "complicated" when the conversation started.  Both Nick and I did not speak kindly to her about it, and I don't feel at all bad.  She's an idiot.  I will not feel bad for her when/if things go badly.  We insisted she end whatever is going on STAT.  Hopefully she took our advice.  I'm pretty sure she won't though.  She's naive.  *sigh*

  • Happy New Year!

This will probably be a quick check-in from me since my to-do list for this week is pretty long.

We still have our Christmas decor up--I'll probably leave it up until Sunday.  We didn't put up our tree this year, though, so it shouldn't take long to put it away.

Our vacation last week was great.  It started out with Christmas day visiting my family in Flint, on to Cleveland to visit L's friend for a couple of days, then on to Virginia for a few days (where the highlights were wine tasting and visiting some dead presidents' homes--Monticello and Montpelier), and finishing with New Year's weekend in Indy visiting some of L's family (including our two oldest nephews).  We put on a lot of miles, but the time together and visiting friends and family was just perfect.  L is back to work today and I miss him, which almost always happens after we've been together 24/7 on a trip.

Still waiting for my grades (which I might not get until next week or the week after) and now it's time to start preparing for classes again.

It sounds like everyone else had a pretty good holiday, too!  Yay :)

All of Christmas is tucked in for 11 months here, except for the tree.  That might have a few more days.

We did that last night too, the tree is even gone.

And I said to H "Think we can organize the storage room next weekend maybe?" and he got right up and organized it last night.  It was so wonderful not having to nag!  :)  It was a big job too.  Eek.

    Party!!!  Yay 2012.  Party!!!

It's going to be a good year of changes.  I'm looking forward to it.

    Yes

Are you referring to any changes in particular?

School and starting the "new business".  :)

  • I just got an email from someone that began with "G'afternoon,".

Uh, is that a thing now?

The email was from an executive director of a local organization.

  • I finished putting our Christmas stuff away yesterday.  I usually leave it up until the second weekend in January, but I was ready to get rid of it this year.

Diana, I'm glad to hear that you had a nice vacation!  I was wondering how it went, since I know your were originally a little unsure about the destination.  How was Monticello and Montpelier?  The history/political nerd in me would love to visit them.

  • Woot!  One step in my "reclaim my life and decrease stress" plan has been approved.

For the past year, I've been attending an evening yoga class which really pretty much blows the entire evening due to the timing of it and the fact that it's on the other side of town.  Losing an entire evening every week was really sucky and often had the opposite effect of what a stress-reducing yoga class should be doing.

But my boss just approved a change to my schedule which would allow me to leave work early once a week to begin attending a late afternoon class, which would then get be home by 6:00.

    Happy.  Smile

    Whaat?

Nick started talking to me in text speak.  For example I asked him about something last weekend and he verbally responded with the letters "IDK".  Indifferent  I told him he couldn't talk to me in text speak.  LOL.  Now he does it to annoy me on purpose.

Yes  Yay.  Did you have to give up a lunch or come in early or anything?

    Ha!  That's funny.

Curb Your Enthusiasism did an episode where a character started saying "L.O.L."  It was hilarious.  B and I now say that sometimes because we think we're funny.

I'll be leaving 45 minutes early one day a week.  I proposed that I work 15 minutes late three days a week to make up for it.  She agreed.

    Good deal!

  • Kasa, I'm so glad that you have that (oh no, I'm sorry for where this is going) work flexibility to maintain and increase your personal flexibility.

    Nice work negotiating this set-up!
