Do you ever sleep separately from SO?

Re: Do you ever sleep separately from SO?

  • I have come out on the couch if I'm coughing too much or can't sleep to watch TV.  BF doesn't like it.  If either of us are sick I offer to sleep in the spare br.  He doesn't want me to because it isn't comfortable but he offers to.  I don't want him to so we end up together.  I say to each their own.  I need a good night's sleep but I rarely get it with or w/o him.
  • Sometimes we do if I am restless I will get out of bed and sleep in the other room or during finals when I am up extremely late and dont want to wake him up when I am coming to bed or getting up. There are some nights I want to sleep in the other room just because i want to sprawl out on the bed and use eleventy billion pillows but I usually just crawl into bed with him. Honestly, there is something oddly comforting about crawling into bed and having him roll over into me and let me throw my legs or snuggle into him.

  • Only when one of us is sick or his snoring is too much to handle. Currently he's in the spare room because he has hurt the side he sleeps on to stop the snoring. We figure that there's no point in both of us being cranky so he'll sleep there until all is well... Other than that, we're always together...
  • When I'm sick I sleep on thecouch because he's a super light sleeper and my coughing wakes him up. I slept on the couch a lot late in pregnancy too, because it was theonly way Icould get comfortable. We've had a good number of separate trips, too.

  • Sometimes. I think the only time I do it is if he's moving around a lot and I can't get to sleep, or if I have insomnia and get up to play Minecraft or whatever and just end up falling asleep on the couch. Never because of a fight, but we don't really fight all that much (I can count the times we've actually fought in 8 years on both hands).

It always seems weird to me when couples have separate bedrooms, but whatever works, I guess. It doesn't mean one side loves their spouses more than the other.

  • Just when he snores so loud I can't sleep, or if one of us is up sick all night (like last night for me, bleh), so as not to disturb the other one if we're getting up multiple times. Otherwise, no.
    Oh, FFS.
