What did they give you?  I was given Progestin (sp?) and I had to take it for five days and then wait.  It always worked.  I think something in my new vitamin triggered mine to come off schedule.  Blah.

I'm not wearing my contacts today because my head was hurting last night and I think I wore them for too long.  I just hope that I'm not setting myself back with my progress and ability to get them in and out.

I'm not sure why I did it, but I watched "United 93" again yesterday and sat on Wiki reading article after article about the planes, some of the people, etc. for most of the night.  I'm a pretty morose mood I guess.

  • Sorry Sarah :(

Sorry to hear about Cosmo, Tiffany :(

I flame my boss for being such a biznich because I took some sick leave yesterday for an appointment; no one else gets this crap and they take more than I do.  OMG the world is going to blow up.  I will be so ready for the day to end.

Oh, no!!!!  Are you going to take him to a vet here in town?  Prayers to you and Cosmo.

  • I didn't sleep well last night.
  • Lacey, I thought I did, but I'm so sleepy now that I'm realizing that I must not have.  Sucks.
  • Julie- Its metformin. I've taken provera to bring on my periods and it always works but I was hoping the metformin would help my body do it on its own so I didn't have to take the provera again :-(

    Tiffany- im sorry :-(

I'm confused.  I thought metformin was a drug for diabetics.  Huh?

No, he already had a checkup scheduled with his regular vet tomorrow morning, so I will take him then.   He maneuvers the house and yard really well, so it is hard to tell what he can see.. if anything.  However when I give him a treat.. he doesn't seem to know it is there until I lead him to it, which tells me something is seriously wrong.

Metformin is used for a variety of things.  Many people assume because you are on it, you are diabetic; this was an ongoing battle with my stepmother, who is a nurse.  Usually those with Type 2 diabetes are on it because of the insulin resistance, which can also be an issue with PCOS and that's why a lot of women with PCOS are on it.  That's why I was on it, not because I was diabetic.

  • Sarah - Sorry to hear! Hopefully it'll come soon.

Tiffany - Oh no! Did you call the vet? Hopefully it's temporary.

  • Oh no Tiffany I am so sorry, I'll keep you guys in my thoughts that this isnt the case. :(

I am in a really good mood today for no apparent reason.

If it is blindness, is that a side effect of diabetes?

    It can be.

Thank you guys for your kind thoughts.

I hope that I am somehow wrong, but yes it happens to most diabetic dogs eventually.   I knew it would happen, I just didn't think it would happen this quickly.

  • Oh Tiff, I'm so sorry. I hope you get some answers from the vet.

Our boot camp was rescheduled this week and next week... Wednesday, Thursday, Friday instead of Tues-Wed-Thurs. I don't really mind, except that it's a long break in between, and it's hard to stay motivated.

  • Tiffany - maybe, if he's maneuvering well, it's that he can't smell the treat & doesn't realize what it is?

I have lots to do today before I leave, so I won't be on much.  Yay, Friday!  Florida, here we come!

  • Tiffany-  I am very sorry about your pup.  Thinking of you.

Sarah-  Isn't a pain that you only get your period when you don't want it and don't get it when you want it?  Hoping the meds kick in soon.

I had one of those dreams last night where in the dream someone makes you so mad that you are still mad at them when you wake up.  The person I was mad at was DH and I kinda wanted to junk punch him when I woke up!

Oooh, I get those all the time! My husband is SO wonderful, but dream-husband is a bit of an a$$. I wonder what causes those?!?

  • Tiffany, I'm so sorry about Cosmo!

I feel like this week has been kinda long (even with only 4 days), I'm so ready for the weekend.  DH found the fitness section of dance central yesterday so we had some fun doing that yesterday.

I wish.   He has never missed a treat in 11 years though.  I could hold up just about anything and he would catch it and swallow it whole, regardless of smell.

It could however be that he is blurry or unable to focus on smaller things, but can see walls and furniture.   Guess I will find out tomorrow.

Good thing I'm alone in the office. I burst out laughing both times! I don't have a dream husband.. How do I get one?

Ohhh, I've done this too. The lowest I ever feel is when I get sucked into those stories ... it's just so impossibly sad.

I'm already in a pretty bad mood even without reading any of that. It's been a rough week at work, and it's affecting me after work as well. I'm hoping I can get some things finished up in the house this weekend and take some "after" pictures. I know that would cheer me up a bit, at least.

  • It's Friday and I found out today I only have 5 more weeks of work!  The company requires you to take the week off before your due date because they don't want anyone going into labor at work if they can help it!  (sorry I know that should have waited until Wednesday with the new format)

DH and I are going to the Mavs game tomorrow night.  I'm really hoping they play better than last night.  I'm excited!  I miss basketball games!  Sunday is also my mom's bday and we are taking her out to lunch.  Other than that I don't plan on doing much of anything this weekend even though I need to clean the house some.

  • My in laws are coming over tomorrow. They've only been here once since we've been married (almost 4 years) and that was a few days after Dot was born. I know I've told y'all how THAT visit went.

Things seem to be on the up and up, and our last few interactions have even been pleasant, but man... I wonder how long it'll take me to not dread seeing them.

The only upside to the "mother in law approved cleaning" I'll be doing all day is that Monday & Tuesday our best friends are coming in to stay with us. I have to get through one to enjoy the other.

    imageimg
  • Good luck with the visit Chelsea!

Speaking of in laws, I was starting to feel like I should reach out or something since it's been over 6 months since we have talked to them. I don't know if it's because I wish deep down that I had a positive in law relationship like others or if the holidays were making me feel the love.

This was all until I saw on FB that DH's sister wrote that her "only brother" was coming to Texas for a visit. One of her friends even questioned her (because she has met DH and I) and she restated - yes only one brother.  How childish of her, it's like she learned nothing about putting the family business on FB status from before. After reading that I remembered all of the hurt that they caused me and re-read the book that DH wrote for our wedding day and remembered the way that they treated him all of his life.  It probably is better for DH to just have space from them right now.

  • Lauren, that breaks my heart for you and your DH. Why don't people realize that acting like this can cause generations of hurt?
    imageimg
  • Lauren and Chelsea,

I'll be keeping you guys in my prayers over the next week.

Bill just texted me saying he has to go to Vegas next week for a conference.  I could probably go because it's exams but I also know that the kids can be somewhat crazy.  I told him to go and have fun.  I also asked him for money for pizza and wings and if I could order Wrestlemania (if you've seen "Stepbrothers" then you'll get my comment).  I love my husband dearly but it'll be nice to have some time to myself in the house.  Anyone up for an impromptu GTG on Wednesday maybe?  Big Smile
