I just booked my information session for the 2012 Executive MBA at Cambridge for the fall.
I'm stupidly nervous about it - getting rejected would be a huge blow to the ego. Gah!
Chronically hilarious - you'll split your stitches!

Re: Squee!
wow, exciting! Good luck!!
That's awesome!
Good luck!
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
It's kind of both, getting information about the programme, an informal pre-interview, etc. but I'm going in on a personal recommendation and my boss has arranged for me to meet with the programme director - they've spoken about me before, I'm a bit of an unusual candidate as I'd be going in off of experience and achievements more so that academic progression, so I'm nervous.
I know. What a stupid thing to be nervous about.

Yeah. I'm stressed about the other candidates as well, too. My boss is doing it right now, finishes in March, and his classmates include the VP of JP Morgan, the CFO of Disney, key management in the BMJ, etc. They don't take you if you don't have a certain level of experience. So it would be people like that, and well, me. I'm feeling small and insignificant already!

Ohh, GL!
Doesn't Executive MBA = part time while working?
Working + toddler twins + MBA = guuuuuurl, you're a better woman than I!
I haven't got a degree or a Masters.. ( hangs head in shame ). Well, technically I have a degree, but it's fake and says Rocket Science on it.
I did part of a degree, then farked off to China.
I also dropped out of high school. (buries head in shame)
But I exceed the experience requirement by a landslide, so I've got a fighting chance.
How come you're still posting under the AE for normal posts?

Don't forget diseased! ROFL.
Yeah, it's a 2 year PT course with a 2 week international stint (that part I'm not looking forward to. Just seems like such a waste of time)

That sounds awesome! Wishing you the best of luck.
Out of curiousity, what made you choose that programme? Is it because your boss had a good experience?
Also, let me know if you ever need refresher-style material in stuff like finance, accounting, etc, as I can help with that.
Thanks guys!
Yes, work would be paying for it - triple bonus indeed!
Ooolalolo - It's not so much that I've chosen the programme, but that my boss has chosen it for me. I haven't even looked at any other programs, the Cambridge brand is more than enough for me. He thinks it will be good for me networking-wise, as it has been for him. I've been working on a lot of his course work with him and it's been fascinating. He's starting to encourage me toward politics and we feel that a Cambridge EMBA will be beneficial for that, should it be something that I choose to one day pursue. He says that my mongolian fishing resort can be a "seasonal hobby".
As for finance, that's the only part I'm very worried about. Most of the modules are soft skills. Things like decision trees in Excel for management science completely do my head in, but thanks for the offer, I'd love to get my hands on anything you've got!
LSE has a diplomacy course that he is doing this fall and if it goes well I may follow as well - have you heard anything about this from LSE?
