Yeah, I posted about it a while ago when we made the decision, but it was sort of buried in a weekend thread. Right now we're basically just "not preventing," but we'll probably get more deliberate about it in a few months.
Yeah, I missed that. Well, yay. It sounds like you are going to go for the same age gap that we are.

Nursing is going well, I totally get why people want to give up In the first couple weeks though. I swear to god it's like hearding cats sometimes.

Our basement renovation project is supposed to start either this month or next month (my money is on next month at the earliest). It's not a huge project, but I imagine it's going to take forever and cost more than I want it to. We'll be moving the TV and stuff upstairs while it goes on, so I'll be watching a lot of TV in bed.
I feel like I've got some crazy PMS going on right now. Yesterday I had a random crying bout which is completely unlike me. And I was super impatient and overly annoyed when my H started talking to me about work (because JAYSUS ALMIGHTY, it's foffing Sunday and he wasn't even going in today so why do I have to hear this crap I don't care about?!).
ETA: Also, I am stoked because my oldass ipod (that I got from Roses back in 2006) might catch on fire so Apple is sending me a fancy new replacement. Hooray! See? I'm in a glass case of emotion. Crying, raging, and happy-dancing.

CMC, that all sounds pretty standard in the infant category. Sounds like you got yourself just a standard boring baby. Of course.
All of this was me just before I found out I was pregnant, so I'm predicting one of the two of you is already there.
I have lots of randoms and they're pretty stupid. This semester I'm taking 7 classes. I don't know WTF I am thinking but I'm trying to get it done and 5 of them are online. Plus once I'm done with these 7, my next two semesters will be easy-peasy and I'll be done. In the meantime, I have 6 essays due on Sunday. Currently I'm waiting for a slow-ass video to buffer on Ethics in the workplace. Shoot.me.now.
In this midst of this school craziness, we're closing on the condo this week. If it were move in ready, I'd be excited but there's painting and some electrical stuff, plus we have to pick out all of our appliances. Which sounded fun until I spent 4 hours at the store yesterday trying to pick out a damn oven. (First world problem, I know). I also have no desire to pick out paint colors. I need SB to come over and decorate my house. Also, I don't want to physically move. Thankfully it's literally from my back patio door to the place next door.
Also, my nephew is staying with us a few days a week. Which is fine, but I always feel pressure having a houseguest, even if it is family. Like last night when Emmett woke up at 3:30 and was screaming his head off. Oh yeah, and I've also been up since 3:30 since I couldn't fall back asleep.

my random is probably pretty flameful.
after reading the hoopla on ML the other day about getting young married, and where would you be if you married the guy you were with when you were 18, on a whim i tried to find him on facebook. i've been FB friends with his little brother for a while, so i just browsed his friends list. this time i found him, i guess he only recenly joined.
my flameful is that i unpleasantly surprised myself by having a visceral reaction to his profile, like i think i full on blushed. i am kind of angry at myself for how this flustered me. i'm certainly glad he isn't in my life today, partly because he broke up with me over the phone like a coward, which completely blindsided me, but also because when we dated he butted heads with my parents (thereby causing me to waste a lot of time being pissed at my parents) because he was completely handsy grabbsy and inapporopriately PDA-y in a way that in retrospect bordered on creepertown.
but i'm pissed that i look at this dbag's face again after ten years and i still effing blush. ugh. how embarrassing.
there there katie. It's ok.
I have made several posts in jest (or not) about having fenton stalk the guy who I would have married at 18. He looks the same. he was attractive. I blushed.
And I feel all awkward having the boring baby comment flapping out there.

Katie -- I had something sort of similar recently. A friend of mine on FB just reconnected with some of her old friends, and one of them happened to be the older brother of the dude I lost my virginity to. I hadn't thought about him in forever, so I clicked to look at his profile. Upon seeing his picture (which was of him and I'm guessing his daughter), this wave of emotion washed over me and made me feel exactly like the insecure teenager I was when we were together. It was really weird. I couldn't tell if it was bugging me to see that he had a life and a kid and not just floated into limboland, ceasing to exist once I was out of his life.

I did an informal survey of my Facebook friends list the other day because I was noticing I know a lot of people who married their high school boyfriend or girlfriend and are still married. Among my friends, those who married a high school sweetheart or someone they met in college are less likely to be divorced than someone who married a person they met later in life.

I'm on leave until I find a job : I was on a contract that ended at the end of the year, so I'll be looking as soon as we get settled into a routine. I'm expecting some opportunities at the same company, thats what I'm really hoping for.
