My vet has put my cat on Buspar for her anxiety issues, and she's doing really well. She's a lot more laid back and not so skittish, she actually retracts her claws now (she's 12 years old, and I've NEVER seen her retract her claws. I honestly thought she had something wrong with her and couldn't), she's not going outside of the litterbox, and I can give her meds without needing stitches, lol She's a lot more loving now, which is great. I haven't seen any adverse affects from the medication.
But...uh...I apparently misread the dosage instructions. She's supposed to get a half a pill (2.5mg) twice a day. I've been giving her a whole pill twice a day (5mg).
Is 5mg still an OK dosage, or am I overmedicating her? is there any good reason I shouldn't keep giving her the 5mg twice a day, if my vet will change the script?
