How goes it.
Today is my day off and I have dance class with the kids. I have a cold again (blah!) and I have to come up with enough energy to get moving. Our shower is out of commission so I can't take one and I really want to take a long hot shower to clear my head a bit. Wahh!!! Brian had to take out all the grout between the tiles last weekend and will be putting new grout in. I can't wait for this project to be over.
Re: Good Morning
Awww man, that's the worst! I loooooove taking long, hot showers.
Feel better soon, MB.
Morning!
Dance class sounds fun - bummer on the shower though. :-(
I finally slept normal last night w/o the aid of sleep drugs - I took those Saturday and Sunday to ward of jet lag. Hopefully I'm back on Michigan time now. :-)
Welcome back! NZ was amazing, was it not? So beautiful. Tell us about the highlights of your trip.
Hi!
Feel better soon, MB!
JuliD! I was beginning to think you were never coming back! I hope you had a wonderful time. Yes, like Molly said, highlights, pelase.
It was amazing. It was perfect. It was our favorite trip ever.
Highlights:
The Kepler Track in the Fiordlands was my favorite hike. The second day of the hike was almost all along a ridgeline with views for days.
We took an overnight cruise in the Doubtful Sound. We got to kayak, fish, eat lobster pulled straight out of the catch pots, watch fur seals play and relax.
Winery visits in the Nelson area - including biking to various wineries. Fun and indulgent after roughing it for most of our trip. :-)
It's nice to finely be able to check-in here! Thankfully MB had made that Check-in thread and I think that got me up to date on everyone. :-)
It sounds fabulous and dreamy. So glad to hear that you had a great time!
Morning girls! I have both kids home with me today so I doubt we'll be going anywhere. I wish I could just get Hudson outside but I have no idea what I would do with Gemma. I thought about maybe putting the baby carrier on under one of Jim's big coats, but it seems like a lot of work. =P
Juli - Your trip sounds amazing! I'm glad you had a good time.
GVSU - That sucks about your shower. I hope it gets completed soon!
What about when she is napping, would you feel comfortable going in your yard while you have monitor on?
Last weekend we were at my parents house. I told the girls to go to the bathroom before we started the trip. Amelia wasn't cooperating, so I picked her up to sit on the toilet and sat her down. Something looked odd and it took me about 5 seconds to figure it out. When I went to sit her down, she stiffened up her legs and rather sitting on the seat, she ended up going straight into the toilet. She was basically sitting in the toilet.
I had to pluck her out, dry her off, and run out to the car to get a new set of clothes.
Now she keeps saying "Mom, you put me in the toilet." or when I tell her we are going back to Nana's this weekend, she says "mooomm, just don't put me in the toilet." luckily she thinks it is silly that I did that. That Monday I was waiting for a call from school saying "Mia keeps tells using that you put her in the toilet."
You have the funniest adventures with your kids. Oh my goodness...lol.
Its all sound amazing but this part would be incredible for me. Glad you had a great time.
Maybe. I'll have to see how far our monitor goes.
Maybe. I'll have to see how far our monitor goes.
Poor you. At least I can take a quick one. If its under 10 minutes the basement won't flood. I do have a bunch of dishes and laundry pilling up.
I hope all water issues are resolved soon.
Mol, good luck with the two-ness.
I don't normally follow celebs or blog celebs, but I just read that Dooce and Mr. Dooce are seperated. Sad.
That happened to me about six months ago! Such a creepy feeling.
Did class ever end up being cancelled?
I'm having a weird week at work. A huge project was recently completed, and now, I'm having a hard time transitioning to other, less urgent matters.
GVSU, do you have an adjustment period after your big events?
Class was not cancelled. Even though the roads were a little scary and I didn't get all my reading done, I'm glad it wasn't cancelled. I'm very much looking forward to getting my first semester back over with as quickly as possible. It's nice not to have to make it up at the end.
It's almost perfect for what I need it for. My only complaint is that it is huge. But, to get a smaller one, I'd have to fork over more money and I wasn't willing to do that. So far, so good!
Kasa, I remember those days. We would always have a bunch of reports to write up in the week after, the the transition wasn't as jarring. I hope you find the leap today.
D&M: I wonder if we have the same model? Mine is wide, but it's because the screen is bigger. But it's not very thick - I think.
Ask her about it. I'm sure she will be glad to tell you all about it.
Kasa,
I always need transition time after events. The first day is clean up day (desk, decorations, supplies, etc.), the 2nd day is catching up on emails, etc. It usually take a week to get back to "normal". I think you almost need to schedule a day off a week after the event. You can't do it right after because you need to that to wrap things but, you you need a mental day to regroup.
