I quit my job last week.  I was the youngest person in the history of our county to ever work that position and I hated it.  I'm 29 and was treated like I was 15. I went to school for over 8 years and have hella school loans, I feel like I should have sucked it up.

    So what's the plan now?

  • Also I really need to use Wikipedia.  Protesting sucks!

How do you quit your job without having another one?

  • 90% of what Sean has eaten the past 48 hours has been pistachios or edamame.

Could be worse. At least they're unsalted.

Duckis, around that time my BP started creeping. Just after I had Connor I ended up back in the hospital for ridiculously high BP, so I'd say it's definitely important for them to be monitoring that even at 39 weeks.

I figure that's their biggest concern. My BP has been fine all along, but I know that can change quickly. Mostly I'm just a lazy a-hole, and since I have no other reason to leave the house today I'm annoyed that I have to put on real clothes for this.

  • Holy sheez, how are you 39 weeks already, Duckis?!

Yeah I developed pre-e in labor so it can happen late. And I didn't even know it. No real symptoms other than high bp.

I don't KNOW, but at this point I'm hoping to make it to at least 41, if not 42 weeks before she gets here. I've done such a good job of preparing myself for her to be late that I've pretty much planned for it. Not. Ready. At. All.

  • I think an appropriate protest of a useless dr. appointment is to go in your pajamas.  I will fully support that.

That's what I thought most people do. If nothing else, pregnancy is a time you can wear whatever and get away with it.

Yeah, at my first OB's office even the husbands and other kids would come in their jammies too in the afternoon. Ah, Kentucky.

I don't "need" another job.  We are fine financially.  It's just the fact that I'm not using my degree that I've paid so much for.

This is where I'm going to sound really stupid.  I bought a spray tan machine a couple years ago and do it on the side.  I actually make pretty good money and it's quick.  My mom owns a salon and spa so I think I may rent a space from her and do that for awhile.   It will be mindless and stress free, which I think I need for awhile.

Eh I can get this. There are some days I wish the hardest part of my job was to remember to say "do you want fries with that?"

This reminds me:  I saw an obituary recently where a grandchild of the deceased was named Venhea.

I get this, but then you do have a job. It's just not a job that's in your field. I did the same thing. I left social work after getting physically attacked by a client and being put in the hospital. I felt I needed a "mindless" job for awhile, so I became the manager of the tanning salon I worked at part time all through college. It ended up being a good career move actually. It was the stepping stone to the coolest job on my resume. But, I knew I had the manager job before quitting my social work job.

How long will your docs let you go before they want to induce?

We got a snow day today.  The whole city and surrounding areas are pretty much shut down.  I'm so happy, I feel like a kid about the day off.  There's not even that much snow, but I'll take it.

I'll be happy if we have a snowless winter.

How do you know if your house in counted in the nielsen ratings? Do you still need a special box or it is all Big Brother now where they somehow beam satellite at your house and just know what you're watching. I don't want to support The Chew and The Revolution at all but sometimes I leave my tv on ABC all day/night and while the tv is off, the cable box is never off.

Ha, you still need a box. We were a Nielsen family a few months ago, we had to write down everything we watched for a week. It was a pain. But we got like $30 bucks for doing it, so whatever.

Thank you KB. This is obviously a huge dilemma for me. How did you get picked?

I think it's random. We got something in the mail not addressed to us per se but the house.
