Morning Friends. Yesterday's randoms went spectacular well. How about today?
I'm pleased to say that we are no longer flooding and shouldn't be anymore. I had a nice long shower and now have to deal with laundry and dishes.
Today is also the last day that all be car sitting. My Aunt returns this afternoon and I'll have to return her car which will leave me to share DH's car again. It was nice when it lasted. I enjoyed the VW Bug there are a few little quirks about it but over all it's a nice car.
Speaking of VW has anyone else seen the new VW commercial that has dogs barking on of the themes to Star Wars and the dogs are dressing in star wars characters? Bad us bust out laughing up until we discovered it was a commercial for VW.

SS brought home is final project from wood shop. It's a camp stool that folds flat. It really nice I'll have to show you all later when I get some shots of it.
Re: New Snow Thursday Randoms
Ditto!
We normally always go together. But we've been so busy lately, I think he was growing impatient, and hungry.
He actually did pretty well, considering. The only things he screwed up was not getting any fresh fruits and veggies, and getting all sugar cereals instead of some healthy ones. A quick trip to the store will fix that.
Traffic wasn't bad here, but based on radio reports I thought of you guys in GR. Sounds like it was pretty bad driving conditions.
I'm not happy that the snow decided to move in today through tomorrow. I'm just hoping that the roads are clear and heavily trafficked enough tomorrow afternoon so my drive isn't too bad.
Last Friday was fine until west of Coopersville, which I can totally handle. If I can make it past GR with clear roads, I'm a pretty happy camper.
I hear ya on this one. I had people going 20-25 in front of me on Leonard this morning on my way back from the bus stop.
They were driving roughly the same speed on 196.
I'm pretty sure that it's almost never necessary to go 25 mph due to snow. On my way home last Friday I passed a guy who was doing that on a less trafficked road than Leonard. 35-45 mph, I can see, but most people can go 25 mph on a bicycle.
Fingers crossed for good driving conditions!
I have to go about 8 mph in our neighborhood. There's ice under the snow. Was that the case on the highway?
We watched the Smurf movie 2 weeks ago. Henry would like us to call him Papa now. And so I have the Notorious B.I.G. in my head.
My Aunt is in for a shock when she get in this afternoon. When she left in Dec. It was green and nice now she come back to Lake Affect Snow and what I'm sure will be a fun trip back home to Ludington.
Did you girls hear about the civil war bones that were found in a house by a couple of teenagers? Weird discovery.
The roads were pure ice in North Muskegon last night. I was driving about 20-25.
I think it totally depends on the conditions. With the roads being icy from earlier this week + low visibility from the snow and the wind, I can see how 20-25 should be acceptable.
The section that I was on was salted. There was some snow, but no ice. It wasn't that bad.
Side roads were a different story, though, I admit. Downtown streets were pretty slick.
What? No. Weird.
Morning,
B has a flat tire this morning, so he is not happy. He may not come home this weekend because of the weather, so that's not good. But it's to be expected a bit in the winter.
Deeder, glad you got your long showers back!
DP- I hope you have a good drive tomorrow. What city do you live in?
Roads aren't so bad over here yet... YET
Within a neighborhood is different. I think it's okay to crawl through your neighborhood, where kids, dogs, cars can pull out at any time.
Henry and his nicknames kill me.
Throw ya hands in the air, if you a true playa!
I heard about this. Very cool. My history prof is going to have a field day with this, I'm sure.
Oh no!
GRSP, please teach Henry this line!
I know, I was just wondering about the highway. I haven't been on it in a few days and was wondering if they were icy.
I live in Norton Shores, right on the lakeshore, between Grand Haven and Muskegon. During the week I stay in West Bloomfield, but on Fridays I'll drive straight from downtown to home.
Molly, ice is totally different than snow. I think it's okay to go 25 mph if there is a lot of ice and you're on a side road with stops and turning traffic that requires stopping frequently.
Detroit fans:
Rapid Growth had a nice article today about some new and exciting happenings in this city.
OMG, I know! I gave up trying to get onto 196 and took the back way in from Jenison to GR.
I went to a really annoying club meeting last night. It is so disorganized and the worst part is there is such potential. Trying to decide if I want to volunteer . . . I already have so much going on but it would be nice to make a difference.
Happened in Union City. Family is renovating a old house that dates back to civil war era. I guess the house is the 2nd oldest in the city. Anyway in the process they have found some old items and the 2 kids went looking for more. They were in the attic and thought they saw an old doorknob between the floor boards and went to grab it and discovered it was a femur instead. They think it may be a female b/c they think they also found a corset.
Is it a full skeleton? Creepy!
I woke up at 4 am from the hall bath light glaring in my face (or so it felt..). H was sound asleep next to me.
So weird for him to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and leave the light on.
It took me an hour and a half to fall back asleep.
