  • I got to have drinks with my MOH yesterday, who I'm really not very close to anymore. No animosity there, we've just both gone through major life changes and we kind of drifted apart. It was SO cool to be able to just sit and hang out... it was like nothing ever happened. I need to make more time for girlfriends.

  • I'm ready for the weekend too, Sarah!

This morning I was at the squeezing point of putting toothpaste on my foundation brush instead of my make up.

This week's episode of Mike and Molly was so similar to how the mom/dad/dad's wife drama played out in our own wedding drama it was creepy.

  • Do any of you watch Modern Family?  I thought the episode last night was so funny and I think it's crazy that everyone was making such a huge deal over it!

Also, how could someone get through DFW security with a gun?  I can't even get through with change in my pocket!

  • I so ready for the weekend too. We are going to take to boys to the stock show/rodeo on Saturday. I think they will love it.

I think I read that it was in her bag and once they saw it on the scanner she had already picked it up and headed to her gate.

  • I actually have an AW this week.  H and I helped out our photographer last week by letting her photograph us for her street photography vision.  Here's the blog:

    http://kandsphotography.net/2012/01/14/a-dallas-love-story-dallas-wedding-photographers/

I'll probably post it on TK, too, because I think street photography would make for an awesome engagement session.  IMO.  I'm excited to get copies of these photos so we can hang them up in our loft.  I think they will go great with our industrial/loft theme.

  • Yea for the weekend! I can't wait to start the weekend and almost woke up thinking it was Friday. Now I think it's Wednesday. My days are obviously off.

I get to see my best friend's tonight! They just got back from their formal engagement in India and I can't wait to see the pictures. I feel bad not being there, but after going to India last year, the wedding, and everything it wasn't going to happen.

RE: Airport - She apparently was suppose to go to a "second" security check. She grabbed her bag and got on her plane. They said they had her picture and checked her plane twice before letting it taxi. They turned all the flights around and got all the ladies off the plane and figure out it was her. Aww, Lacey, those are great!  They look like something out of a magazine.

I'm not necessarily ready for the weekend.  While I had to come to school on Tuesday, there weren't any kids here so I kind of feel like today's only Tuesday (maybe Wednesday).

    Sarah,

I thought "Modern Family" was hilarious last night!  And I don't necessarily see what the big deal was either.  However, we watched the most recent "New Girl" last night and I was appalled that they had a keg and a stripper pole on a school bus (they turned a school bus into a party bus).  Bill thought it was funny though, so I guess to each their own.

Also, last weekend, when it was 78 or so, I turned on the air in our house.  It was stuffy and the windows can't be opened (I don't know why, that's just what Bill says).  However, it wouldn't blow cool air.  We had a repairman out yesterday and were holding our breath that it wasn't going to be a new unit.  It was just the fan motor!!!  So, only $500 as opposed to $5000+.  Yay!

  • Lacey- I love the pictures!

Julie- I thought new girl was pretty funny and I didn't even really think about it being a school bus even though it was haha. I just didn't pay enough attention I guess!

  • I love that the lady's excuse for the gun was "I forgot it was in there."

James told me last night at bedtime that he's leaving tomorrow morning - so I'll be coming to both the G2G and Book Club, for sure.  He's going to Houston for about a week, then coming home next weekend, and then back down there for ~3 weeks.  I'm trying really hard to be positive and supportive for him, but I'm totally bummed.  I'm so worried that this will mess up his career-job prospects, like by making him miss a deadline or something, and also that he won't be home for my birthday.

Lacey - I LOVE those pictures!  My favorites are the umbrella ones, and the one kissing under the street lights.  So cute!

I didn't think that was appalling. I thought it was sweet that Jess found the only bus she had access to, and tried to make it as cool as Schmidt's party bus would have been otherwise. I DID think it was pretty awful that the school's principal "enjoys" all the confiscated drugs, but that might have been mainly because I hate that actress so much.

I did think that it was sweet too, but I guess I just didn't think it was all that funny.  Bill thought it was hilarious.  I also thought it was bad that the principal behaved that way too.

  • I must just not watch enough TV.  I don't watch any of the shows you ladies are always talking about.  By the time I get to sit down and watch tv at night I'm so tired I usually fall asleep during whatever DH starts to watch. We have a few shows we watch together but usually that is Saturday and Sunday nights when we can catch up on them.  I will say that if Lily on HIMYM has her baby before me I'm gonna be sad!  She hasn't been pregnant long enough!!!

Lacey I love those pictures!  So cute and what a great idea.  I might suggest that to my sister for her engagement session.

I found a newborn photographer (sorry I know baby talk but it's the only AW I have today) and DH told me it was fine to go ahead and book a session with her so I can get all the cute half naked baby pics.  So excited!

I'm also really excited about our new carpet.  The carpet in the bedrooms right now is the cheapest stuff and it is an ivory color and shows every spot of dirt.  So ready for carpet I don't feel dirty walking on barefoot!

  • Thanks Ladies.  :)

Angie - I'm glad you'll make it to Book Club, but I'm sorry J is going to be gone and miss your birthday.

I looked kind of sideways when I saw the weed thing, but mostly I remember it's TV and ahve the stuff we watch is just for entertainment sake. Or I hope it is. I personally loved the episode I was cracking up most of the time. The segment at the end with Smichdt(sp) was the best.

Angie - glad we get to see you, but boo to him being gone so long. Hopefully it won't effect his job prospects.

  • I don't watch reguar TV.  Like at all.  And when I hear stuff like this, it makes me feel like I'm not missing much.

Jaymi, LOL!  Glad you were able to stop yourself.  It reminds me of a hilarious story of a lady I know that had her electricity go off while she was putting her makeup on to go to work.  When she got to work, she realized she had lined her lips with her black eyeliner, not her lip liner.

    Lacey--so cute!

I am AWing my dinner from last night--it was soooo good.  I posted the recipe on FB and I have it pinned also.  It was fish with black beans and corn and it was so easy to make and clean up.  Every morsel of it was organic too (except for the Rice A Roni I served with it).  I can't wait to eat it again tonight.

  • Jaymi - It sounds like you need more sleep LOL.

Lacey - Those pics are wonderful!!  I love all the black and white!

Julie - I loved this week's New Girl!  For Halloween two years ago we got a party bus.  The one we requested was broke down so they sent a hot pink school bus that had been turned into a party bus, complete with stripper pole, and it was AWESOME!!

  • Lacey, great pictures!

I LOVE Modern Family, but haven't watched this weeks since I'm waiting for DH to come back into town.  It is one of the shows we watch together.

I gave up on new girl after about the 4th episode.  Just wasn't that funny.  We also gave up on 2 &1/2 men.  I just wasn't funny anymore.

Angie, sorry Jay is leaving and not goignt o be around for your birthday.  :(  I hope he is still able to continue with his job prospects here.

They said they had her picture and checked her plane twice before letting it taxi. They turned all the flights around and got all the ladies off the plane and figure out it was her. She was 65 and seems like she really didn't mean any harm. I'm more worried about our security then her at this point.

I'm not so concerned with the lady.  As long as she has a concealed handgun license (I haven't heard either way).  If she does, she needs to be more responsible, HOWEVER, I can totally see myself not thinking it over and forgetting that it was in my bag.

My bigger concern is the security.  I mean every time I see them find an "illegal item" (ie, a tube of toothpaste or chapstick) they stop the belt, call someone over to confirm and deal with the bag and then send the bag out of the scanner.  If you see a gun, why would let the bag out of the scanner without someone there to confiscate the bag and deal with her.   Boggles my mind.

This is what got me too! They never flagged the bag because she just picked it up and went on her way. I've had lip gloss thrown away because it was in the bottom of my purse and forgot to put it in my "liquids" bag. It was good lip gloss too!

  • The airport lady had a concealed handgun license but it was expired.

I was so excited to get today's Groupon to the Hiatus spa--until I read it's only good if you haven't been there within the past 12 months.  Grrrrrr!  Thank goodness I read the deal thoroughly.  I'm still mad though.

I don't put my lip gloss in a baggie although I have a little make up bag.  If I have lotion, then I do put that in a baggie.  I remember the workers at Love Field taking my bag aside and asking me about the lip gloss though.  They acted a little like I was going to take down the whole airport with it.

The story I heard was they flagged her for a second search but she just walked off.  It does concern me though that a TSA worker wasn't standing there with her to escort her to the next stage.

  • DH said it was a disaster waiting to happen, lol.  I took a mini nap last night and I could have kept on sleeping but I chose to get my butt up and workout.

We have to replace both AC's sometime in the near future and I'm scared of how much it will cost us.  We replaced the heater's a little over a year ago.

Wonderful pics, Lacey.  Umbrella's make everything much cuter.

  • Lacey those pics are very cute!

I am home for the day thank goodness.  The IUD went fine but wasnt fun by any means but I was okay.  At least until I stood up.  I was very shakey and my anxiety was through the roof, so within a min or so of standing everything went black and my legs started to give out from under me.  Luckily I felt it coming and got to the ground on my own.  They made me lay down on for about 30 min before they let me get back up and I feel very weak in my whole body now but thats about it.  I think I am going to try and take a little nap.  Thanks for all the good vibes ladies!

I just had a chopped beef bbq sandwich for lunch, and it was delicioso.  Now I have to make a phone call for work that I've been putting off for, oh, a month now.  I hate calling people I don't know - I always feel dumb on the phone with them!
