Good morning!

How is your day looking today?  Any big plans for the weekend?

I'm working until 5:40 today because I have the ESPY awards for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 6:00.  They're in the building right across the street from work, so there's no point in leaving.  Clay was all spiffed up in a suit and tie for the awards and here I am in business casual clothes with unshaved legs.  Bahahahaha.

Re: Good morning!

  • Good morning!

You're pregnant, so I think you get a pass on wearing a suit and shaving your legs :)

No big plans today.  I'm working from home today (I changed from pajamas into sweat pants and one of H's old t shirts!), which is nice.  Tomorrow is H's birthday and I think I'm more excited than he is.

  • Morning! I am super busy this week with payroll tax returns and preparing w-2's and 1099's. The only time I can really get on is in the morning and on my small lunch break. I'm missing y'all! Hope you have fun at the awards thing tonight.

  • Morning! Today i am leaving work 3 hours early. 4pm can't get here quick enough. I think i am going to start wearing thermals to work. Our station is freezing!

This weekend we really dont have plans. It is going to snow Saturday so we are going to stay home. No plans so far on Sunday either.

  • Good morning!  Today is a wonderful morning!  In case you haven't read my many posts, we have a signed contract on a house!  YAY! We managed to buy the house for $7,500 under list price, so we're happy!

Now I get to spend the morning calling our mortgage lenders to see what comes next, and we actually have to choose a mortgage lender.  We have pre-approvals from 2.  And, I do have to get some work done.  Sigh.  I can't spend 8 hours at work only dealing with the house.

ETA:  I've also discovered a new way for me to eat breakfast.  We have omlets every day.  Egg, bacon, and sausage.  And I just couldn't eat it any more.  But, I discovered that by dipping the omlet into maple syrup, it balances the salt and spice of the bacon and sausage nicely!

  • Good morning.  I have grad class tonight, so I'll be teaching all day and then in class until about 7:30.  Then I'll go home and DH is playing in a poker night with some of his new work friends, so I'll be home by myself for a little.  I just keep trying to remember.... TOMORROW is Friday.  Thank gosh!
  • Morning!

I pulled a "Stoked" this morning and blew out a tire on the way to work. Sweet.  I'm currently trying to use what little planning time I have in the morning to find tires that are in stock, because no.one. carries my size tires, and I'm starting to panic because I need my car to get to work...

Hopefully the rest of the day goes better than this morning.

  • My morning was supposed to be awesome, since my amazing husband picked up a dozen donuts for me last night (he didn't know what kind I would want haha). Well I woke up and must have touched my face and noticed my hand was covered in blood. Apparently my lip broke open sometime in the middle of the night, ewww. Not a fun way to wake up. I think my lips were just too chapped. I've been putting chap stick on religiously ever since.

I think H and I are going to get our books for school when he gets home from work. That's going to be expensive! lol

  • Morning! This week has been dragging!!!

Today is my Mom's birthday, so the whole family is meeting at a local Mexican restaurant for dinner (which means I have to drive 35 miles home to get Hanz after work and then another 20 miles BACK to my parents' area and then 20 miles home again...UGH). Last night we pretty much perfected the living room and got some major headway on reorganizing & cleaning up the kitchen more. After we get home, I'm going to work on our dining room table (which is covered in junk mail, mostly) and H will finish the kitchen.

My cousin's son is turning 1 this week, so we're going to his 1st birthday party on Saturday afternoon and then immediately after my aunt & uncle are having a fish fry...not sure that we'll stay, but it is an option. Oh and my oldest sister is having a jewelry show tomorrow night, so I'm going to that as well.

  • I have a pretty busy day today at work, but nothing too exciting. After work I am going to put the second coat of paint on the half bath and install the new floor vent. After that I just a have to install the new towel ring and toilet paper holder. Saturday I want to get some moulding cut and painted to make a frame around the mirror. So glad it's almost Friday. We should have a pretty lazy weekend.
  • morning :) my day is off to a good start because i'm wearing my new ballets! it's snowing! and i have a "date" with my friend tonight! her hubby is in Belgium for work for 3 years so they only get to see each other a few times/year. he left in September so she went there for Thanksgiving and he came home for a few weeks at Christmas. I'm trying to see her often because she is lonely without him.

this weekend we are hosting 2 of DH's buddies from childhood. they are driving in from his hometown for a weekend of football, drinking, eating, euchre and board games :) i'm excited to have guests because it will force me to have fun and be less worried about laundry and cleaning than I usually am over the weekend.

  • *Stoked* Sounds like the perfect excuse to go shopping at lunch for a cute new top.

Our weekend will be groceries, a snoogle and a bella band...my darn pants started not to fit so well this morning.  Sigh, and so it begins.

  • Morning! I would normally be in class right now, but I decided to drop this particular course and take it in the summer instead. I spoke to a girl that already went through most of the program last night and it sounds like the professor I had was just extra ridiculous with workload and I wouldn't be able to keep up (without going insane). I'm nervous about if I made the right choice or not though, because don't want to somehow mess up my graduation date.

Otherwise I'm working a half day and going grocery shopping. Tomorrow we are going over to the IL's house and celebrating my birthday a little early. The rest of the weekend will be full of work, homework, and cleaning/organizing.

I read and am so, so excited for y'all!

PS- awesome breakfast idea for you that I used to eat all the time- breadless french toast!  Mix together eggs like you would to scramble them and add some cinnamon.  Cook the eggs and eat with syrup or honey.  They're awesome!

thinking of you and hoping that you get to work soon! what a stressful way to spend the morning!

  • Good morning, everyone!

This week needs to move along a little faster.  I'm ready for the weekend!  Work is okay today, except that I have several back-to-back meetings this afternoon that I really don't want to attend.  Sometimes I feel like all I do is go to meetings.  Tonight H is having dinner with his best friend, so I'm going to work on cleaning and perhaps do a little laundry so it's not all backed up this weekend.  It's always better to get work like that done when H isn't around.

I actually don't have any plans for this weekend right now, but that may change by the end of the day.  I'm hoping we're not going to have much to do because we're trying to save our energy for next weekend, when our schedule is going to be completely packed.

  • Hey ladies!   Andrea - those ballet flats are so cute! Do they have a fair amount of support?  I might have to order a pair if they do.

Beth - I am jealous of your trip to Jamaica!  Have fun!  Stay away from JB rum.   Our friends brought back some from their HM and the bottle has traveled between about 5 couples and there is still rum left.  And this is a group that really likes rum.

Maggie - Sorry about your tires.  I bought mine from Tirerack.com and I had them 2 days after I ordered them.  I know you need yours right away but I got them for about $100 less than other places in town (I bought 2 tires so saved about 50 bucks per tire).

I am tidying up the house, making some food for H to have while I am gone, and packing.  I am so excited to go home (not excited for cold weather).  I planned my trip back around my friend's baby shower so I am excited for that as well.  I just hope the weather is cooperative for my 10 hour drive.  Have a great day ladies!

  • Cayres and Hydrangea-thank you so much for the kind thoughts and well wishes!

A co-worker was able to come get me so I made it to work.  (Hubby would have too, but he was already at work and it was actually easier to see if someone from work could since I wasn't very far away)

And my day is looking up-our BM's step-dad runs an auto shop/tire warehouse and just happened to have my size tire in stock (shock!) and is giving me a deal on them b/c of my connection-so I will have 4 new tires by the end of the day for only $360.  I am one lucky girl!

I'm wearing a shirt I just cut the tags off of this morning. :(  I just don't have many clothes that fit currently. ha

  • Maggie- that is great news!

Cassie- the ballets do have a decent amount of support, especially considering that they are ballet flats. J Crew makes incredible shoes; they are definitely worth the money.

  • Good morning PST!  I have work all day today and slept not so great last night.  Tonight Tim and I are going to go see a production of My Fair Lady with my grandparents.

I think we're going to try to go to Pismo this weekend to visit Tim's parents, but we'll see.

Beth- So jealous!  What's the weather going to be like over there?

Maggie- ugh.  Car stuff is so annoying, especially when you have some place to be!

Kim- good job cleaning!  It's amazing what a little motivation can do :]

Stoked- It's winter and you're pregnant!  The unshaven legs are ok in my book.

Thanks everyone! It's a picture from our rehearsal dinner.  I totally forgot about and rediscovered it when I was going through some of my files.  I LOVE it!

  • Good Morning!! (It is still morning in OR) I think that winter finally arrived in OR this week.  It is pouring down rain, and hasn't stopped in days.  The rivers are all swelling and there have been a lot of accidents in the area.  Last night there was breaking (heart breaking) news of a family's car that got swept away through a culvert due to a flooded parking lot.  The family was inside and only 2 people survived, the rest are missing.  Keep them in your thoughs, as well as all the others who are dealing with flooding of their homes.

Maggie - I'm sorry to hear about your car!!  I'm glad that you're alright, and it sounds like you are getting a smokin' deal on some new tires!!

Kim - I don't know how you can drive that much!!  I would be exhausted all the time.  In one day you're going to have driven 100+ miles, that is outta control.  I mean, I know that everything is bigger in Texas... but do you guys have to space everything out so far?

sounds like you are making good progress on the house cleaning/ organizing!!  We have piles of mail in our office - its supposed to be H's job to organize and file it but he never does. It drives me crazy!

  • Good afternoon!   Today is a normal work day for me.  This morning flew by so hopefully the afternoon does too. Tonight I have yoga so I always look forward to Thursdays.  And I made goulash for dinner Tuesday and have leftovers to eat tonight so no cooking too!

We don't have any plans yet this weekend but usually by the end of the day Friday we have the weekend booked up.  Looking forward to a relaxing weekend after all the house issues we had last weekend!

  • This week it's been mid 80's... I hope it stays that way next week!
