Re: Friday...
I have been so tired this week! I took 1 1/2 naps each of the past two afternoons.
Is anyone else coming tonight to the G2G? Let me know!!!
This morning has just not been my morning! Everything is going wrong! :-(
I just have to make it through today! I realized today that I have lost (and kept off) about 7 lbs since the December before my wedding. I'm pretty proud of that!

Julie - I'll be there. I have to run some errands, but I should be there by the 6:30 time we have set.
Sara - Congrats!
I'm ready for the next 8 hours to just fly by. I really don't want to be here at all. There isn't a whole lot of work so it's going to be incredibly boring.

What type of lettuce are you eating? I've discovered that I cannot handle much ice berg lettuce but Romaine, spinach and pretty much anything other than ice berg, I'm okay. Plus ice berg does not have many benefits as other types of lettuces.
That is something to be proud of, Sarah! Hope your morning gets better.
Julie - They say Everything in moderation. What kind of pain? Hope you feel better.
Does anyone else listen to 106.1 and get really annoyed with the DJ who talks about his wife Rebecca getting laser hair removal? I don't know why but I normally change the station with that stupid commercial
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home D
I really dislike advertising on the radio in general. And all the commercials seem to focus on either laser hair removal or LASIK. "I did it so you should too!" No thanks.
I hate that commercial too! Especially because I wonder what type of woman actually shaves her legs everyday and takes twenty minutes to do it like the commercial says. :-P
I especially hated the one where he was saying she was able to get the good deals on black Friday because she didn't have to shave her legs. I would just not shave them and then I'd be there on time! :-P. Plus, I've had laser hair and it didn't get rid of all the hair :-(. Sorry, end rant!

Yea.. I had laser and It really didn't help. I keep thinking she got it for free because you run the ad every 20 mins or so.

I agree to the extent of the peeing & details of exams - but I do like a little update of "had an exam, everything is fine" or nursery details... the fluffy stuff about babies, I guess. The gory details? That's what the bump is for.
I'm working from home today, and I rolled out of bed at 9.15. James left this morning, and I haz teh sadz.
I'm sorry you haz the sadz, but I'm extremely jealous of you being able to sleep that late. I nearly fell asleep during my zero period. Bill is usually not "Mr. Late Night" and while 10:30/11 PM isn't all that late, going to bed that late when we have to be up at 5 AM has made it very difficult on the sleeping schedule.
Since Angela brought it up, I'll add something. I don't mind the tickers (Deepthi, even yours doesn't creep me out like some of the others but I also like the fruit ones a lot; it gives it some perspective). I like to hear some of the updates as well, but I feel that some of the discussions that went on before we had "Oh Baby Wednesday" hurt some feelings and made some of the girls who are pregnant not want to discuss their pregnancies or how things were going. It made others really uncomfortable. I am extremely jealous of those girls who can have babies of their own, but that's the extent of my feeling towards them. I am also extremely jealous of the girls on here who still have both their parents, but I don't hate them and I would never say that when, a) it's a little harsh and b) that's not how I would actually feel about people I have never met or know only in passing. I got very emotional on our cruise last year when the bride and her mother had a private moment in the spa while I was getting my pedicure. I was jealous that she still had her mother but I was glad that her mother got to be there for her wedding.
We came here because we were tired of the wedding talk but we still wanted to be able to chit chat. We decided early on to make everyone feel welcome.
Lastly, the first semester was over last Friday. Why are these people asking me if the second semester starts on the 23rd?
I completely agree Angie! Sorry your hubby is gone...but I'm glad you're coming tonight!!
Julie - I might not be late anymore. I am only working a half day so hopefully I will be on time!
Argh. All you people working from home and getting half days. Makes me think about private sector jobs. Glad you'll be able to make it on time though, Lacy.
I agree with Angie--I don't want to ban it. I think it's exciting. And there haven't really been any "gory" details until now, and that poster is just excited, which is natural.
Heck, if we ban it, pretty soon there will be no one here!
Is anyone else having trouble with Pinterest? I couldn't print one recipe yesterday--including the sausage pinwheels which I wanted to make for book club tomorrow.

Just do it!
Stephie - I haven't been on today, but it worked ok for me last night. For the pinwheels, you get the bigger size of crescent rolls (or the uncut dough - they sell that now!) and roll it out. Brown a pound of sausage & drain. Mix the sausage with a package of cream cheese. Spread it over the rolled out dough, and roll up. Freeze for 20 minutes so it will be firm, then slice and bake until the dough starts to brown. Ta-da!
Julie, not to rub it in or anything, but I may or may not still be in PJs...
I was on yesterday for a little while and couldn't get to one of the recipes I wanted to check out before pinning. I got so frustrated, I took my nap.
**Please don't blast me for rarely posting and now having an opinion.**
It was my impression that the nest is for chit chatting about married life. For many couples, this eventually means children are thrown in to the mix; one way or another. Not allowing pregnancy talk on a married site is like not allowing anyone with a wedding budget over a certain dollar amount to post on TK because it may upset people with smaller budgets to hear about your lavish dress, flowers, venue, etc.
Just my $0.02.
This seems to be a diverse community where we are all in different stages/situations, but can find a lot of common interests, and I think that's great.
Thanks! Ugh--the freezing for 20 minutes part may mean I'm bringing pigs in a blanket instead. What temperature do you bake them on?

I agree that major updates aren't a problem. But I do agree with Angela in that I feel people who are pregnant still need to be sensitive to those who aren't able to/are having trouble getting pregnant. I was not happy with the whole person posting and saying "oh look how quickly it happened". That's all I'm saying.
On another note, how is everyone doing on their fitness goals?
Deepthi- did you think the laser hair helped much at all? i feel like it did in some areas but hardly any in others :-/

Stephie - you could probably set it in the fridge for 20-30 minutes too - just to cool it off so that when you slice them, the roll doesn't smoosh. I think it was more of a suggested step than a must. I think I cooked them at 350' - that's my default for everything
I'm sad to hear this news about the laser hair removal - I bought a groupon (that I have yet to even call about using, oops) and I was hoping it would do some good for me.
I had a friend (blonde) who said it didn't work for her because her hair was already so light. I apparently works better for darker hair (I've also read this). My MIL is getting it because she's having a hard time using her tweezers now. I am jealous of MIL. I think I might get it the next time there's a Groupon or something.
BTW, one girl's ticker said that she's been breastfeeding for longer than her child has been alive (or at least that's how I read it and I like to think I can read).
What area of your body were you wanting to get it on? Some do better than others!
Yea, the areas I did had darker hair. My lower legs had a little blonde hair that didn't go away. I couldn't do my upper legs because the hair was too light.

Re: fitness goals. I have given up on actually losing any weight. I am working out as much as my body and my schedule will allow and the scale never moves. I've decided just to focus on not gaining, being healthy, and being happy the way I am.
I think I will refrain on commenting any more on the baby talk versus no baby talk because I don't think my opinion will be a popular one.

I agree with that 100%. To add though, sensitive to those that have had a loss. 1 in 4 women have lost a baby, so it's probably safe to say that I'm not the only one. And when the randoms and newbies show up to announce their pregnancies... that has been enough to drive me to tears on two different occasions, and I'm not a cryer! It could be that everything is so raw and fresh to me, but it hurts nonetheless. And to ask about cramps and how they scare you - that was like adding insult to injury. I know that pregnancy is scary, but there are bump boards for the details, ESPECIALLY that detail. I want to shake her and yell.

I have this warming dish thing that can hold two separate dishes and can keep them warm by putting a tea light underneath it. I can have that set up for Book Club if anyone needs it. Please just let me know.
Also, if Pinterest isn't working, I may bring toast.
There are still a couple of people who haven't signed up for anything. If you aren't signed up and don't mind, I think we still need drinks and plates. If no one signs up for it, I don't mind bringing it. Thanks.

I agree! That made me think of both you and Sara :-(. It was unnecessary information.
