How many strollers did you/do you have?
Re: How many strollers did you/do you have?
We have 2 strollers, the Baby jogger City Mini and a Bob Revolution. We have the car seat adaptors for both, for the Chicco Key fit 30. DS is also small, he was 4 weeks early and 5lbs 10oz. (Im small too!)
We had the City Mini from the beginning, love it for shopping, easy to steer one handed while going around Kroger with a basket, and to get through doorways!! Easy to fold up and put in the car etc. Car seat adaptor works reasonably well. Oh and I use it when we go for lunch and I don't want him in his car seat. He was ok in the actual stroller from about 6 weeks, but that is mainly because he was so small. It reclines pretty flat.
We were always intending on getting the BOB, and got it when DS was about 2 months old when REI had a 20% off one item sale (its worth keeping an eye on REI as they have them a couple of times a year I think). Got the car seat adaptor for that one too. I use it for bootcamp, and we use it for walks. Still easy to steer, haven't tried it around shops though, and being small I might have a problem getting it through doorways while opening the door at the same time. It reclines pretty flat too. I have him in the car seat still for bootcamp (although you aren't meant to run with him in it then, as it is top heavy). Car seat adaptor works well, Id say better than the City Mini.
We could probably get away with just the BOB. But it is nice to have a smaller stroller. Im not sure what we'll do when we get to air travel, we have debated taking both (well one of them on the trip but either of them) but depends on the destination. We may well end up getting a smaller umbrella stroller at some point, but I think the city mini would probably be not much bigger anyway.
Another factor to think about is how much you are likely to wear your LO. If you are happy wearing them then you are less likely to need a smaller stroller. With the car seat adaptors you are less likely to need a SNG/ travel system (in my opinion)....
I would definitely check out Baby 1st furniture, they are very knowledgeable and have the majority of the popular ones. And Im not 100% sure but I think they will price match anyway. And as I said REI is a good place to get the BOB or bike trailer type strollers too especially if you can get them on the 20% off sale!
