Hey,
I thought I'd start a weekend thread and see where it goes. Good morning to you. How are you? Did you sleep well? My sleep pattern is so weird and it gets on my nerves. I woke up about 4 times last night. this is very normal unfortunately. I think my body thinks it's time to get up so I wake up and look at the clock and go back to sleep. Quite annoying. I'm hoping I get better at this sleep thing once my stress level goes down.
I'm sitting in class. I SHOULD be paying attention. But no. God bless the professor. He's 80 some odd years old. Been a lawyer since 1961, and a judge since the 80s. He's so sweet. But this class is soooooo boring.
So tell me something good?!
Re: Good Weekend to you (Randoms)
Ticker question? I have no idea.
I good have slept better. I didn't feel that great and had strange dreams through the night.
To night is my Vitalie's Night. I'll head up and have a drink or 2 with a few friends and it give the boys some time together. Last night we all watched Inception. Really good movie maybe a little too deep for SS but he still liked it.
My kitchen is cleaned up nicely went through and moved this and put others in "storage". So it looks a lot less cluttered and a bit more orderly. Next I need to tackle the dinning room.
Good morning! I just got up, so yeah, I slept good. :-) I loooove lazy Saturday mornings.
Weirdly, I had a dream about my parents' old dog, though. The one who died about six years ago. I dreamed that she was alive and well and she was our dog. So random.
Awww Deeder. I hope you sleep better tonight. Good job on organizing the kitchen though!
Inception was good. I agree it's deep.
Yay Kasa for good sleep!
Posted twice. sorry!
I'm at the library in Spring Lake, studying as per usual. The workload this semester already feels overwhelming. I can manage it, but it just requires a lot of discipline to keep on top of it.
Kasa, I want to print out some of our photos (particularly some from our travels) to frame or order on canvas to display in our home. I know what you mean about feeling like the project is huge. I think mine is going to wait until after school. We want to do a pretty major remodel at that time anyway, so it might work out well.
I'm still struggling with the new window treatments I've been hunting for for our kitchen and living room.
I think we decided to get this shade for our kitchen. But we can't decide what color to get. I hate trying to find coordinating wood tones! Our cabinets are a mid-tone cherry. The pecan and walnut would be darker. Oak would be lighter. And then there's white. I have no idea which of the four would look best.

I was stalking some firms on Martindale last weekend and my jaw definitely dropped at how long many of these attorneys have been practicing. It's crazy to think that lots of these guys graduated around the time my parents were born!
Okay, enough of a break. Time to read for Property...whee!
Tickers...I would go to Lilypie or a website like it (Google free tickers) and make new ones. When you make them they will give you a code to make them the small or large version.
Inception...I saw about 60% of that movie. We went to it when I was about 36(give or take) weeks pregnant and I was having contractions every 10 minutes or so. So I kept drinking more water trying to get them to stop, only making me having to pee every 8 mintes.
I really need to see it again, as I got so lost. At the end my DH said "wow" and I said "huh?'.
DH and I are going out to dinner tonight for our Anniversary. Bar Divani sounds yummy (we could double date!)....but I think we are going to go for Hibachi/Sushi in Grandville. I miss living close to downtown GR.
I am overwhelmed just reading this. I got about 9 frames and want to do a photo collage...they are still sitting in the packages since I don't even know where to begin. I think I need to start with our wedding and progress from there. We have had so much happen in the two years we have been married, we need about 25 frames!
Good luck! This is a big task. I have to admit that it took me five years to order wedding pictures. They are still sitting in our office, not in an album, almost a year later. And Henry has no baby book. I fail at managing our memories.
Happy Anniversary!
Being close to downtown is one of the few good things about living in Wyoming anymore. If you're going to Kobe, check restaurant.com they usually have certificates for Kobe.
Old school lawyers are a fascinating breed. For whatever reason, lawyers seem to have a hard time retiring. In most other professions, people retire and they're done. Lawyers gradually cut back their practice and that can take 10 years or more for the ones who really don't want to let go. It's like they don't know who they are if they're not practicing or something.
That being said, some of those really old guys on Martindale may no longer be practicing at all. Some firms keep their founders on as of counsel and continue to list them on their website and Martindale even though they may not have actively practiced in years.
This does not sound anything like watching Downton Abbey.
I have a very large college frame that I'm trying to fill. It isn't going so well. It's 28/36" and I'm not sure where to place it. Right now it is sitting on my landing to the upstairs.
Thanks for the tip! They don't have any right now, but I will check the next time we go. We like to go for Sushi. They had some for Bar Divani...hopefully you got one!:)
Hello. I'm at my parents this weekend so TH can focus on the bathroom project. Before we left, we went and saw the Lollipop Concert with the Symphony and Ballet this morning. It was cute and we had fun. Allison was more into than Amelia, which is understandable based on their age.
(Ha, Allison is over my shoulder and spotted her and Mia's name and asked why I'm typing their name)
I hope I sleep good tonight. Amelia has been sleeping like crap this past week and waking us up on an hourly basis. I just ordered a stuffed owl that lights up a pale yellow color at night and then when it is ok for them to get out of bed, it turns green. I'm really hoping that helps.
My parents are at a Pistons game tonight (gluttons for punishment). I hope the girls go down easy tonight so I can get some work done. Our yearly report is due in two weeks and I haven't started it yet. However, I was without my work space tuesday until Friday and was only given two hours notice on Tuesday to pack up. It has been a frustrating week at work.
I was tempted to pick up some wine at Target for when I work tonight, but I didn't want my parents to think I've turned into a lush and can't handle not drinking. hee hee
Good evening. Back from a long day of class. I meet my first client next week.EEK! I will be doing her will and power of attorney. Excited to get this thing going ( and over with lol)
Thanks for the ticker help.
Yeah some lawyers don't know when to give it up. I can't decide whether it's because they love the profession or they just love the money.
GVSU, B and his mom went to the game too. They have season tickets. He said next year they will probably get really good seats and just go to a few games instead
Remember how I told you that I had a surprise Kindle Fire show up on my door and I emailed Amazon about it. They told me to return it and tell them how much I paid for shipping and they would give me the money back. I told them no, that they could send a pick-up tag to my work. They replied back and said they would to email them my work address. I waited a few days because I didn't want them to send the tag early while I was on vacation. So when I got back to work, I emailed them my address and never heard back from them. I kept the box at the front desk for three weeks waiting for the pickup tag. I figured I did my share....looks like I have a new Kindle Fire.
Wow. Huge screw up for Amazon turns out to be a huge win for GVSU. You will have to let me know how you like it.
DH and I are looking at migrating me over to a new iPad soon. We have a few clients that are using them now and I can't say I wouldn't mind having one again but I still like having a laptop too.
DH woke me up b/c he has a migraine and his writhing in pain. Wish there was more I could do for him. I'm not sure what brought this one on but it's the first time he was woken me up like this. At first I thought he was dreaming based on how he was moving and the noise he was making but nope he was in this world.
Is that your field of study. I was telling DH that he needs to think about putting something together. I don't think he thinks it is necessary b/c de doesn't have anything.
Ah, that makes sense. You know all of those behind the scenes details.
I got an iPad 2 through school and I LOVE it. What a great gadget. I loved it so much I bought the H one for Christmas so I don't have to share hehehe
I'm in the Estate Planning Clinic. Our school has a requirement that we do an internship somewhere or do a clinic- which is a class based internship. Since I work, I had to do the clinic. I wouldn't mind going into it as a career though.
I think it's a good idea to get some estate documents together. You can always change them. Good for you for suggesting it. I've been nagging my parents to do theirs. I worry that something will happen and we won't know what they wanted.
