Re: I need some activity here, people.

  • I've been thinking the exact same thing. Unfortunately, I'm working from home today and with H still sleeping...I am seriously tempted to crawl back into bed and forget about working today. I'm in baby planning mode right now and am about to start looking for clearance items online to add to the baby box...lol

I'm so jealous you get to work from home.  It kinda makes me not like you on Mondays.  ;)

  • The only problem with it is the fact that I don't think our heater blows air into our office. My fingers are like ice! lol

What are your snacks for the day? H got me some mini babybel cheese things, they are delicious! I'm considering grabbing some carrot sticks to hold me over until lunch..or maybe some sugar free hot cocoa...hmm.

  • Are your vents open in the office?  I was freezing in the nursery the other day and remembered I had closed the vent.  It's all good now!

I just zoomed through a bowl of fruit- pineapple, strawberries and grapes. I have some carrots and ranch for this afternoon.  I love the babybel cheese, but get so mad that they're gone so quickly. hahaha.  They're even better with an apple!  I love apple and cheese together.

  • I'm here! Dare I remind that I work from home too? Haha.

I'm having a hair crisis. I want to chop off my hair because its annoying me but I know I'll regret it! I'm also incredibly distracted by my freelance work when I should be focusing on my job. ACK!

I also really want to shop for spring and summer stuff, but I have no money. First world problems, anyone?

  • My snack this morning was some leftover fresh mozzarella cubes from our homemade pizza last night.  Sooo good.  I'll probably have yogurt and/or almonds between lunch and dinner.  I've been trying to eat healthier snacks at work (I have a mild obsession with chips and candy).

I bought babybel cheese at costco over the weekend and ate one this morning for a snack! yuuuummmm!

I shared my snacks (babybel, almonds, clementine) in the morning post because I'm trying to plan my meals and snacks starting today! When I dont pack a lunch and go out I end up getting pop and sometimes even chips or a cookie. not a good plan!

  • Yep, the vent is open. I think it is because of the positioning of the windows in the room, our bedroom is probably 5-6 degrees warmer right now.

Apples & cheese is an awesome combo. I'm most definitely having that for my afternoon snack! Your fruit salad sounds yummy too!

Joy - Would a trim or a new style (without whacking it all off) ease your need to chop off all of your hair? Usually when I am in the mood for a haircut and know I'll regret it, I go in and get an inch or so trimmed and feel better (I guess it feels healthier?). lol

  • You all are making me hungry!!  And also made me realize I forgot to soak some black beans for dinner tonight.  Crap.

I just spent the past 40 minutes practicing oboe for my auditions, and I am SO out of shape it's not funny.  I hope I can pull my audition pieces together!   My pooch has a vet appointment in a couple hours and then I'm bringing her to speech practice.  The HS kids are going to love on her so much, she'll be exhausted tonight!!

I might yeah! I have yet to find a salon that I love - so I always get a little nervous that they won't do what I ask! You know?

The apple/cheese combo reminded me of this awesome sandwich I used to get at a deli at my college: toasted ciabatta with grilled or fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack or provolone cheese, apple slices, and honey mustard.  Some of my friends used to get it with bacon too.  Soooo delicious.

And I agree with Kimberet.  I cut off a ton of my hair after the wedding because I was annoyed with it, and I still haven't been able to grow it back to anywhere near that length.  I look at honeymoon pictures and miss my hair!  Maybe just try a new style?

Be a Mommyblogger. I could totally see you doing that ;)

I used to hate working from home and now I'm a total advocate. I get to play career woman and homemaker at the same time.

I'm actually looking now.  I'm trying to get on with Pregnancy & Newborn magazine too.  I've done freelance articles for years, so maybe that combined with Etsy could suffice.

  • I work from home too. I have been kinda lazy lately though. I just woke up about a half an hour ago. Oops. Guess who gets to work all night now?

I chopped off all my hair about a week ago. Kinda like Ginnifer Goodwin's. Somedays I love it and somedays I am not sure what to think.

I really want to start shopping for spring/summer clothes but it is only January. I think I need to hold off for a little bit.

That would be so fun!  I love writing and wish I could contribute somewhere (for money). I just started writing for Ladies of Craft Beer, and it's fun, but wish I got some cash for it :)

  • I'm having a hard time staying awake at work too!  Stupid interrupted night's sleep. I had an hour meeting this morning that all I contributed to was occupying a seat.  And this afternoon, I have to go work in a place with no external stimulation. Just people talking.  No internet.  No music.  No nothing.  Sigh.

Joy ? I would just go for a trim.  That always seems to make my hair feel better.  And it gets it out of my face
  • Work at home ladies: any tips for how to make the most of it?  Especially Joy, since you said you used to dislike it.

I work from home one or two days per week, and sometimes it's great but sometimes I find it hard to motivate myself and end up surfing the internet a bunch and then get really stressed around the time H is supposed to get home trying to finish all my work for the day.

  • I'm so jealous of all of you who get to work from home.  Unfortunately, teaching doesn't really lend itself well to the idea of that.  HA. Although, I really am in no position to complain because come May 28th, I will be at home every day for almost 12 weeks-without work, but WITH pay.  Last year was my first dose of a real summer break (until then I'd always worked a 40hr/week job during the summer), and I don't think I could ever turn back.

Everyone's snacks sound delicious too! I love cheese and apples too-and I totally forgot about babybel cheese. YUM! I've turned into a fruit hound too lately.  I've been loving fresh pineapple and my favorite dessert has been vanilla bean ice cream with cut up strawberries and raspberries on top.  With all of this food talk, I'm now off to go eat lunch!

  • I also want a job where I could work from home, our furnace is out here and I'm freezing today. I'm wearing gloves, so it's hard to type. I will be working from my parents house on Friday, which will be nice.

Kim-are you and Hanz TTC? or just getting ready?

Snacks today are carrots and dip. I forgot my pineapple at home :( I'm having soup for lunch, needed something warm. I may go over to the library later today, hopefully it's warmer over there.

  • @ Stoked (I forgot to quote and hit reply by accident)- That'd be awesome if you could swing that! Good luck!

We're currently getting ready...I am one of those "I am overprepared for everything" kind of people. It'll probably be a couple of months before we actually start trying, but I've been charting, so hopefully we'll get pregnant on our first try. Also, we don't want to be in this house with a baby for very long. Since our (current) office doesn't get proper circulation, the baby would be in our room until we move.

  • I am super jealous of those that work from home. I wish I could. We booked our 1year anniversary trip last night I am SO excited!!

  • I would love to work from home but I don't think I would stay motivated or on task.  Especially if I had kids running around too.  But it would be nice if it was more of an option.  We are working on paying off our student debt so I can stay home for 6 months to a year when we have kids. Then I would go back to work or at least part time most likely.

All your snacks sound soo good! I didn't pack a snack today.  I need to go to the store tonight and I have added apples and cheese to my list!

Where are you going? I can't believe people are booking anniversary trips already, we still need to go on our HM!

We are going to the grand sunset princess resort in Mexico (Riviera Maya) Nicole suggested it. I researched it all day and we booked last night to lock in with their amazing promo that was going on. We are going for 5 nights, all inclusive. We got a premium room right by the beach. They even come and re stock your fridge in your room with drinks. I am SO EXCITED! Now it's crunch time to drop some weight. But I am so excited! We were not even planning on doing this, but for the price we are going to spoil ourselves before we decide ttc.

I feel like doing the happy dance whenever I think about it!

This is for everyone (especially the expecting mothers, I suppose)...wouldn't it be cool to do a Juneville baby shower for the expecting mommies (and new mommy, dmcphee!)?? I know with Babies R Us you can have them ship gifts and that way addresses don't necessarily have to be exchanged (if that is a concern). Anyway...just a thought! I obviously love buying baby things...so Juneville ladies are a perfect excuse :)
