    But seriously:

Reds - I love good zins, merlots, and syrahs. I am currently off pinot noirs.

Whites - I also love New Zealand Marlborough sauvignon blancs.

Bubbly - yes, please! I love Schramsberg (we're club members). This is at Mumm, which was lame.

I don't care for beer, and booze I guess my preference is vodka (tonics and other fruity cocktails).

    Abstinence - only when pregnant.

  • T&C, the Eroica Riesling is one of my very favorite white wines! It's not sweet like a lot of Rieslings. Another favorite of mine is Cloudy Bay sauv blanc, but it's too pricey for regular drinking for me.

i am going to ask my bff to look out for it, i haven't been to fairfax in awhile but that's her regular wegman's. i've mostly looked at leesburg and lanham. i really liked the bully hill sparkling wine but i think it was like $14 so obviously $6.99 wins!

who the hell is that effing lady buy up the cheap, good bubbly?

Ugh. I don't know.  The last time I went to FFX I called ahead and had them hold a case for me. It seems like I always want my champagne a day or two after she shows up and cleans them out.

It also seems like they never stock more than 4 cases either.  Which is crap, since it's in high demand!

  • i've put my bff on the case! that lady better watch out. don't get in the way of nesties and their sparkling wine, b!tch!

  • Red.  Right now I'm loving Aramis Malbec.  DH just brought some new bottles from France home that I'm excited to try :)

I'm also a seasonal wine drinker, but I would choose red overall. I like big reds, like zins, cabs, syrahs, and malbecs.

    why we are friends. :)

and T&C - glad you made it out there, and if you're visiting your BFF, bring me some of "her" wine -- still the best tasting we had there last April! (so good we came home with a "surprise" bottle we don't even remember buying!)

You know what's sad? We didn't even go to Duckhorn because the tasting room is closed this week for renovations. BUT, my friend gave me a (very belated) wedding present--a Howell Mountain 3 liter from 2007 (the year we got married. But she made me promise not to open it for another five years at least.

I want to *like* this. I so wish the Nest had that feature, instead of making me quote the whole thread. Anyway-- have a great trip! and drink lots! and get some Praeger port, if you can....

  • I prefer cocktails over anything else and don't like most wines. I do like sweet whites like riesling though. There are very few reds I actually enjoy but I never remember to get the names!
