Tuesday will be good.

Dudes.  I opened my email, and just sitting there was a message from a former (and future?) local newscaster.  I'm pretty sure it will change the face of Grand Rapids. ;)

Actually, she has a committee role with the organization my small job is with.  The email wasn't exciting, but it made me smile and feel that I should share.

Re: Tuesday will be good.

  • That's very cool, GRSP!  Neat way to start the morning.
  • I'm glad your moring was a happy one!

Mine was not.  First the shirt I had planned to wear to our meeting today had a big spot on it, so I had to find another to wear.  Then Renee spit up all over the new onsie I put her in not 30 seconds after I snapped the last snap.  Then because I dropped her off a few minutes early to daycare I thought I would have time to stop for a good cup of Sbux coffee (thinking it would help improve my mood), but everyone was driving 15 under the speed limit (30 in a 45).  I did make it to Sbux, but they didn't have the coffee I ordered, so I had to wait.  When I got the coffee out to my car, I tried it and it was AWFUL.  Worst cup of coffee I've ever had.  Someone brewed something wrong, it was super watered down.  At this point, I'm already late (and ready to cry).  I hurry to work, and thankfully my boss wasn't in yet. I ended up calling the Sbux and complaining about my coffee.  I don't often get the chance to go there in the morning and going there was supposed to be a treat for me.  It's only a $2 cup of coffee, but it was still a waste of my time and money this morning.  And I have meetings all day today and tomorrow.  And I won't get to see Renee after work because I have a company dinner to attend Crying

  • Wop, sorry to hear about the rotten start to your day!  That's so frustrating.

The last time I went to Starbucks, I got a bad cup of coffee too.  I took it back.  Annoying, though.

  • When my alarm went out off this morning, I thought it was the weekend was some reason. Blah.

  • Wop, did Sbux do anything about your coffee?  I would expect a free drink coupon or $5 gc for that.  Threaten to switch to Biggby Wink

I only have about another week left of my free coffee mug.  I'm really going to miss my daily Sbux.  I'll still stop in occasionally, but not every day.

GRSP, exciting news about the new face of GR!

  • I hope your day gets better Wop. I'll be third on the bad cup of coffee at Starbucks train. Last time I got it, it was bad. All the sugary, syrupy goodness was at the bottom.

Good morning. I made an appointment to meet with the career people at Cooley's GR campus on Feb 13. I had planned to take that Monday and Tuesday off to visit Bryan for V-day anyway. Added bonus! I hope I can find something.

Sweetpea, that was a nice email to see in the morning

  • Hey DP, you'll appreciate this- or at lease commiserate with me: I'm STILL  waiting on a grade. Yep... I'm in my last term and it's the 4th week of class.. and I'm still a grade short. i'm about to go off on the registrar. This is SO ridiculous Super Angry

  • Here's hoping to a better day than yesterday! Actually, after work it got better--my herbal home study course was waiting for me. I can't believe how thick it is. I think it will take me a year to get through it all.

  • No way GRSP! That would be a fun email to have. :o)  And, yes, I think you are correct about the future newscaster.

Sorry about everyone's bad Starbucks. I stopped going there a long time ago due to constantly getting bad drinks. Blah!

Today has been o.k. for me so far. I'm feeling a little better, so that's good. :o

How does this work?!  How did you get free coffee?

Yuck.  We still don't have final grades for two classes.  One of those I got an A in so nbd because I can't get a bump.  The other is my B-, so a bump there would be awesome but I don't have my hopes too high.  We are also past our last day for 100% tuition refund.

One of my classmates kept threatening to roundhouse kick the registrar people while we were waiting on grades.

It is the best thing ever.  Before Christmas they were doing gift ideas and one of the things they sold was a special mug for $20 that could be filled with brewed coffee for free every day in January.  There were only a limited number and they sold out fairly quickly, but L picked one up for me in Holland.  The side benefit was every time I filled it up with my daily fuel, I thought about how amazing and wonderful my husband is Smile

  • I am wondering what happened to this snow they said we were supposed to get last night.

    That's neat!

  • Yeah a swift kick might do them good! I still can't figure out what takes them so long.

I cant imagine what it must be like for you all to wait for what your grades are. I remember waiting for my grades each semester for my bachelors degree and they were pretty consistant - not drawn out like you all are having to deal with. I feel sorry for you both!

  • I'm frustrated for you grade waiters.  Grrr.

The email made me crack up more than anything.

WOP, I'm sorry about your rotten start.  Hope the afternoon treats you well.

I just spent an hour doing jigsaw puzzles.  Henry got 5 different ones mixed up. I put them all together to make sure we had all of the pieces. They're now zip lock bagged and labeled.

  • I love a good puzzle! I spent last night doing one with my mom, instead of doing homework. Oops

  • Yeah, it was kind of fun to mentally check out for a bit and just put the puzzles together.  But these were 24, 50, and 100 pieces.  Zip, bang, done.

I just got my mail.  The saga of my neighbors continues.  Jim noticed he's not been around for a while.  Today, I figured it out via a letter addressed to our other neighbor.  The return address was the Kent Co. jail, with his name on the inmate line.  I guess sentencing has happened.  I hope he's not asking her for more money.

    That's so awesome!

  • Hi.  I have an ultrasound today at 3 to determine my due date.  :D  I think I'm about 6 or 6.5 weeks.

Morning sickness hasn't started (yet?) so I don't really feel pregnant yet.  I'm not complaining, just kinda nervous!

  • I'm hoping that they find that little blip right away for you, D&M.  I understand why you'd be nervous.

Willa 4.6.06 and Henry 10.18.08 Camp Sinki
  • Hope your appointment goes well, Molly!  Very exciting.
  • I feel like something fishy is in the air here (at work).  My boss has been acting weird.  She's in a good mood, but she's being kind of secretive and anti-social.

Enjoy the ultrasound and fingers crossed that morning sickness skips you completely.

Henry woke up at 5:15 am. Yay! Awesome start to the day. He is a little cranky from missing out on 2 hours of sleep so I took him to get a haircut. I figured that we might as well get all the tears on one day rather than spreading it out. He stopped crying as soon as it was finished and then he got a chocolate milkshake.

Hopefully you find out what the deal is soon. These kinds of situation drive me crazy. I have a very active imagination and would begin to obsess about what it could be.

  • Kasa, I forgot to review the Ides of March for you.  It was... okay.  No, no.  It was good, but I think my expectations were high.  There were two things that bothered me in/about the story, but it didn't ruin the whole movie for me.  When you watch it, let me know.

Me too!  I'm feeling paranoid and uneasy.  Tongue Tied

    Really, it's probably nothing, though.
