I worked as a lifeguard at an overnight summer camp but ended up getting pneumonia and sent home. My sister worked at a day camp <1 mile from our home and after I started feeling better she mentioned they could use a lifeguard/swim instructor for the last 2 weeks, so of course I jumped at the money making opportunity.
Met DH. He was nice, funny, and great with kids.

2 months later I was planning to go to Kenya for a missions trip, but then bailed because my fundraising efforts sucked. He messaged me on FB to ask if he could donate to my trip and I informed him I was no longer going but we started chatting each other up...
then BAM. he put a ring on it.
I actually met DH when I was in 8th grade
We both went to Oakland Christian and its a K-12 school. DH was a teacher's aide in my earth science class and I just thought he was the CUTEST guy ever. His beautiful blonde hair (which has since darkened) and beautiful blue eyes just sucked me in. Not to mention, he was always a gentleman to me.
We didn't start dating until 2 years later, when I was a Sophomore and he was a Senior. But here we are, 7 years later, married and high school sweethearts
and he is definitely my best friend.
DH and I were high school sweethearts. I played soccer and he was ran track. I tore my ACL the first week of the season and he had bad ankles, so we ended up spending a lot of time in the athletic trainers office together. I had actually dated one of his friends, so we kind of knew each other before the trainers room. As the season progressed we talked a lot more and started flirting
One of our other friends told him that I liked him and we had our first date the day before I had my ACL repair surgery! The rest is history!

A coworker of mine who I was training introduced us. As a joke, I told her that she wouldn't really be a manager until she found me a boyfriend.
A few days later she gave DH my phone number and he said he would call me at 9:30 AM on a Sunday morning.
It was my day off and I was like whatever he wont really call so I slept with my phone on silent. When I woke up at 10 I had a missed call from DH at 9:30 one the nose.
I thought he was worth giving a call back.
Um totally! Any guy that does what he says he is going to do, and on the time he says he will, is worth checking out!
I played soccer and DH ran track when we were in high school! That's pretty cool
He was best friends with my best friends boyfriend (now DH) but he was dating someone else at the time. When they broke up I was dating someone else so that gave him time to see a couple people (he had dated his previous GF for 6 years). Once I was out of that relationship he wouldn't leave my best friend alone asking her to see if I was interested in him. The four of us ended up going out shortly after that and he walked me to my car when I left and asked if we could see each other the next day. That's about it!!! That was 9 years ago and we've been super happy ever since!!
We met on New Years Eve 05/06 at a friend of a friend's house party. It's pretty unromantic as stories go....we were both pretty drunk and at one point he puked on the floor next to me.
. I had to leave early to be on TV (another story) and I never got his number 
. Puking aside I thought he was cute.
So a few days later I texted a mutual friend (the one who invited us to the party) and asked for H's number. I then texted H with a lie - said he gave me his number lol - and that I had fun, blahblahblah.He is the first/only guy I have ever "chased".
Well we ended up making plans to go out but he had to cancel because he had to work. Which at the time I thought was a lie, but he still says he really did have to work. So about a week later he calls and says him and his friend are at a bar and me/my roommate should meet up with them. We did and started actually dating after that and are now married (duh).
Cute twist to the story, my college roommate and his buddy who was at the bar that night hit it off too and they are now married.

He's not my DH or FI (yet!) but I'm going to jump in here!
I was in Detroit for work and I was there for 8 days. Over the weekend, my coworker (also a good friend) convinced me to go to the Eastern Market beer festival with him and his wife and meeting up with some cousins. I don't drink beer, so I was pretty reluctant, but I went anyway, with a DD ticket (complete with 2 giant blue sharpie Xs on my hands!). We met up with his cousin and they were talking to some friends so we ended up in a big circle. G was there with the cousins, and he and I just kind of drifted away from the group. He asked where my cup was, and insisted that I needed a cup. So he left to find me one. When he came back (cup in hand) we drifted farther from the group, and ended up talking and walking around for about 3 hours. His ride was leaving, so he found another ride home so he could stay there longer with me. He asked if he could take me out the next night, and here we are 15 months later! I still get all warm and fuzzy thinking about that story.
We met on MySpace.
He found my profile by clicking through other people's profiles. He messaged me because we kind of worked for the same company. We talked online for three months. I also shot him down three times when he asked me out, but eventually decided to say yes. It will be six years ago this March that we met in person for the first time!

We met at a house party in college. I normally would never talk to guys at a party, I'd just go to hang out with my friends. But that night, the two friends I went with ended up bailing on me (one left the party, the other found a guy to dance with). So I was all alone, feeling like a total looser, considering going home, when DH came up to me and said hi. I thought he was cute so we started talking, then dancing, then making out on the couch, lol. Yeah, it was a classy night!
I gave him my number before I left and he called a couple days later. That was 8 years ago next month!
Funny side note - I actually turned him down for the first date he asked me out on because I had tickets to a hockey game. He still teases me about that, but hey - a girl has her priorities! Luckily he picked up on that and our actual first date was ice skating at Yost. That's how I knew he was a keeper.

DH cancelled our 2nd date on me and gave me some random excuse. I totally thought he was blowing me off but he insists to this day that he wasn't.
