I know we're supposed to talk about babies and all but.....
1. Dad, I get it. You like the rain. But you don't drive anymore and you don't have to deal with the side effects of heavy rain on the roads. Please don't lecture me.
2. I'm glad my stomach and I are starting to get along better.
3. I feel very lazy today. It's not a great idea for me or the kids to be lazy so early in the new semester. I will persevere on.
Re: Oh Baby Wednesday!
I worried about Mel until she got to school. It is pretty much flooded here. My drive home last night was awful--a guy lost control of his SUV coming around a corner 10 feet in front of me. All I could do was pray he didn't hit me.

I love, love, love, love rain, but I certainly am also glad I don't have a lengthy commute to work, because I'm certain I would love it less. I just want to curl up in bed with my one dog who's brave enough to come out of my closet during a storm.
My first through fifth period classes are taking a test today, so I brought thank you notes to see if I can get any done. Unlikely, but I'm hoping I can at least write the ones for my coworkers and slip those into mailboxes.

Angie- I love having an early schedule I work 6:30-3:30 and being home with the gym out of the way by 5pm is so amazing. I also get more work done in the morning with no one bothering me than my peers can.
Stephie- Oh no that must have been scary, I hate almost accidents they usually leave me shaking to the point that I have to pull over for a min or two.
I slept SO good last night! I went to sleep around 8pm and woke up at 4:30am in the exact same position I fell asleep in.
My phone is not receiving incoming calls this morning. Verizon has a ticket thing open and I hope they fix it soon.
I'm so jealous! I wish I could work these hours!! I love getting off early and getting everything out of the way, but I don't have that option here :-(
I ended up getting to work early because, surprisingly, there was no traffic! I even left early since the past two days have been bad and I thought it for sure would today since it was raining. I was surprised! :-p

I love the rain but I hate the idiot drivers that are going 20-25 mph! I didn't speed, I wasn't even going to the speed limit but come on 20-25 mph is just going to make things worse! I don't think either one of us want me to have to slam on my brakes in this weather.
Nothing new on the baby front except that I'm still itchy all over. I took 2 Aveeno Soothing Baths yesterday and as long as I was in the bath I was fine but as soon as I got out I was scratching again. Benadryl only works enough to make me fall asleep but according to DH I'm still scratching in my sleep, a lot! I have a doctor appointment at 10:45 so hopefully they can give me some kind of answers.
Caroline has grown about a pound since our last visit and I didn't gain anything. Doctor said that is totally normal in a bigger person so I'm just happy she is healthy. Also Benadryl makes Caroline NUTS! I take it and she is more active then she has been. I need to keep this in mind for future! I am about to pass out and she is donig flips in my tummy trying to keep me awake. Tylenol PM helped both of us get some sleep last night but as soon as I leave the dr I'm going home for a nap.
Deepthi, are you still going to the Mavs game tonight? We will be there also!
I'm frustrated. I need to go to my doctor because both of my knees & ankles hurt and I'm afraid I might have rheumatoid arthritis. I have benefits since day 1 at my new job, but since I'm not technically in their system yet I can't get anything to prove that I have insurance. So my doctor's office wants me to pay it all in full up front, and then I'd have to file a claim myself and pray that I get it all back. I don't have much faith in getting my money back.
Did anyone see the story about the Dallas PD officer getting arrested for a DUI? Yea, that's Dan's good friend & the guy that hosted the poker night that we went to a couple of weeks ago. I know everyone is going to hate on him for it, but I feel really bad for him. His wife died last year at 35 and he's been having a really tough time. (Not that that's an excuse for drunk driving) Dan says he's definitely going to lose his job because of it.
Tylenol PM is just Tylenol & Benadryl.
Julie - I'm glad your stomach is finally starting to feel better.
Stephanie - I had that happen to me once in ice and I turned around and went back home.
Dana - You are so close! Yes I'm still going to the game! Maybe we will bump into each other. We are getting there as early as possible so we can get prepared for the ring ceremony. I'm over the moon about it and can't wait until 5pm to get going.
I don't really have anything baby related either. Our appointment to hear the baby heartbeat is next Wednesday. We can't wait, but it also mean I probably have to tell work about the pregnancy soon. I've just been doing research on baby items, but I haven't bought anything. I have a ton of "symptoms" and I really don't think anyone wants to hear about those.
I enjoy the rain too, but if it wasn't for DH checking the pool this morning and draining it we would probably be going home to a flooded house.

You shouldn't have a problem getting your money back. It's very common for things like this to happen. If you need help just tell me.

I will! Thanks so much!
We are riding the train and will be pulling into Victory station at 6:05. I'll be the crazy pregnant lady in the Barea jersey, maybe with a sign. No promises. I am so excited it worked out that we could go to at least 1 game this season. Normally we have gone to about 3 games by now but things just didn't work out. We are in section 124. Maybe we will bump into each other, who knows!
I have no clue what section we have since it's a friend's season tickets we were lucky enough to get. We are leaving from T&P going to Victory as well. I'm so excited it's ridiculous! It doesn't help that I'm bored out of my mind right now.

I'm lazy today too. Heck I've been feeling lazy this entire week during work hours
I get my stuff done but I just don't want to do anything and I don't want to talk to anyone about work stuff.
I made turkey bacon wrapped jalapeno's last night for one of our student's who is pregnant and has been craving them. Of course, I made me a couple but they are sitting in the fridge right now and it's tempting to just go eat them.
My BFF from HS? Her ex-husband is the fire fighter who got drunk and set a fire on Hwy 175. He lost his job. He didn't really have an excuse. He was high all the time, was stalking several girls that he dated after they divorced along with my BFF, and just being an all around jerk.
Deepthi,
Me too. I think I'll hold off on salad for a few more days though. Just to be on the safe side.
I finally found something that scares Rascal: the vacuum cleaner. It's hilarious to see an 18 lb cat run like a baby!
This is a great visual. Our shepherd is also afraid of the vacuum cleaner, but chases the lawnmower. She is not a smart dog.

hahaha. My poor old cat was afraid of practically everything. We put a ceramic cat in the living room one time and she freaked out! She hissed at the poor cat and finally ran away scared. She avoided the living room for hours before she realized the cat wasn't there any longer. I had to hide it for her own well being.

My dad's little cat that he rescued out of a bush is, uh, mentally challenged. During thunderstorms, she thinks the house is rattling itself and goes outside. She has done this for years. She still can't remember that it's the storm she's running into. Also, you know how a cat will wash its paw and then behind the ears? Well, she doesn't really lick her paws but then "washes" behind her ears and then licks the air.
This is such a funny mental picture that I can't stop picturing it and chuckling to myself
Morning Ladies! Not much new around here - just grateful that today is my day off and I didn't have to make the drive from N. Dallas to Fort Worth this morning! Oh, and our pool overflowed this morning from all of the rain -- lovely.
Deepthi & Dana - DH is going to the game tonight too and I am SO JEALOUS (Although I'm a wolves fan - sorry!). I keep trying to make him feel bad for leaving his pregnant wife home alone, but he still hasn't offered up his ticket to me yet. Hmmmph. Have a great time!! Go T-Wolves!
Wanna know what I hate??
I hate having something to say that I KNOW you ladies would find absolutely hilarious/awful (yeah, at the same time), and not being able to say it because it's somewhat public and could reflect badly on me. Stupid world wide web.
I'm not sure we can be friends anymore. He was going to make it a "boy's night" without telling me, but he knows I would have gone crazy if he left me behind especially when they are getting their rings.
We were really worried about the pool overflowing. Did it do any damage?

Luckily the girl that checked me out at the drs office took pity on me & let me leave without paying. Unfortunately, the dr does think it might be rheumatoid arthritis and I fit the category for it (which is apparently young females, I had no idea). So I have to wait a few days to see what my blood tests say. I have so many problems, I feel like I'm all defects. I should have a 'return to sender' stamp on me some where. It's really sad that my cvs pharmacist knows me by name & birthday.
Oh no Angela, I hope this isn't the case! Sending good vibes your way! And you are not "all defects"--you are beautiful just the way you are.

Ha! Well, if it helps at all - I cheer for the Mavs when they play any other team....just not my home team!
No damage - luckily the patio was built well and slants away from the house with quite a few drains around. All is good!
Angela - I'm praying for a good report for you!
Speaking of pools overflowing - I almost got nervous, but then remembered that our pool has a serious leak, so it's down about 2.5 feet. So, overflowing isn't a worry, unless maybe my whole house has washed away... yay for playing the Glad Game, right?
