Re: Wednesday Randoms

  • Awesome GRSP. That made me giggle.

Charity. Crawling under a rock is only allowed on Tuesday and Thursday. Sorry but you will have to wait until tomorrow. ;)

DH is going to try Jude's Barbershop. Anyone have their DH go there? Yay's / Nah's?

My husband goes to a Jude's.  I tease him and say he just likes the look of the girls.  When Jude's started, the concept was hot girls with scissors and a beer with the cut.  The beer is gone now, and it seems that there is less of a focus on the looks of the stylists.

Jim says he goes there because it's close (2 blocks away), I still tease him anyhow.

I'm enjoying the benefits of a steamer. My rice cooked doubles as a steamer and so far I've steamed Salmon for the boys, Corn on the cob, green beans and broccoli. It's the little things.

B&G: You bring cupcakes and your welcome at my place anytime.

Ok so you all see this right? Don't turn me away when I show up with cupcakes one day:-) I guess we know the way to Deeder's heart...and home lol

  • Sure she meant to say health. ;)

GRsp - I love that you made a scarf with Willa out of an outgrown shirt. So smart. Her sense of pride and accomplishment is the real benefit. I just love that.

Also -  Justice Sotomayor was on Sesame Street. She heard a case between Baby bear and Goldilocks.

  • Happy early bday, BnG!  And woo hoo on getting your last grade!  Huge congratulations on being so close to finishing!  I can only imagine how awesome that must feel.

A friend of Mike's goes there and he seems to like it.

  • My housemates also always laugh at the use of the word "steamer."  I think there is a secret 12 year old boy inside of everyone.

This is so awesome.  I'm a complete SCOTUS nerd, so I find this of particular interest.

  • L goes to my salon a few times a year and then gives himself haircuts in between.  I would not peg Mr. GRSP as a typical Jude's client.  You can't really argue with convenience though.

Why thank you! Now I just have to keep my head in the game for about 10 more weeks... Jeez! It feels like foreeeeeever.  But it's nice to know i'm really going to finish this thing

All: the shirt scarf was from Pinterest.  Here's a link.  If you have a sewing machine, it's really quick and easy to do.  http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/super_easy_tshirt_scarf

I love that S.S. was on Sesame Street.  We didn't watch today.  How did she rule?

  • My cousin updated her FB with a mention that her daughter's preschool teacher mentioned that she (the kiddo) doesn't know her shapes or colors.  She's worried.

I said, "well, now you know what to work on for a while."

One of her friends posted this gem: I promise you she will know all of her shapes and colors before she graduates from high school. What a stupid teacher for saying anything about it. Just love her and teach her to knit and how to be a good sister and daughter and it will all fall into place. Don't stress yourself or her about it.

    WTH?!

Ah, what?  Huh?  The whole response is odd.  But, the knitting part in particular.

    That's awesome!

  • My cousin is a big knitter, so maybe that's how they know each other.

Still, while I don't advocate for pushing your kids too crazy, that's setting the bar pretty low.

    LOL.  What a quack-a-doo.

  • Has anyone made chocolate lava cakes? I think I want to try making them for Valentine's day.

Seriously.  I wonder if that commenter is a parent.

Really, it's not hard to teach your kid shapes and colors.  T knows a lot of shapes and colors.  And that's mostly from playing games, singing songs and reading books.  Something hopefully every parent does with their children.

I seem to remember a conversation about someone making them at some point.  Maybe TheWop?

I missed the decision. The case was about Goldilocks breaking Baby Bear's chair.  I am sure there was a call for an apology and forgiveness. :)

Uh, yeah. And calling the teacher stupid?? Totally out of line. That drives me crazy.

Her FB pic is of 2 kids, so I'd guess yes.  What bothers me more than anything is her comment that it was stupid for the teacher to mention it.  Um... that's her job!

  • I have to go console Henry who just realized that -despite his highest hopes - he is not nocturnal, and therefore does not have nocturnal eyes.  Then we're going to get something for MIL's b-day.

    BNG - Happy Birthday :)

    Thank you lady!

  • I have a really stupid question.  I'm sure I'm overthinking this.

I had my blood drawn around 3:30 yesterday.  They told me to wait 48 hours and then do it again.  Do you think I could go on my lunch tomorrow (would be about 45 hours later) or should I go on Friday morning?

The u/s tech (the one who issued the lab work order) told me to come in Thursday morning and they would have the results Thursday afternoon.  But Thursday morning is also not 48 hours.

Part of me wants to wait to make sure I don't screw up the results, and the other part of me is pretty much dying to know the outcome.  See the dilemma?  Stick out tongue  WWYD?

  • GRSP - Love the stories of the kiddos.  Always give me a smile.  Along with cheesy riddles.  So here's my contribution:

What do you call a pony w/a cough?

    A little hoarse.

How many Mexican's does it take to change a light bulb?

    Just Juan.

I hope everyone's days get better!

I would probably go on Thursday at lunch. And a late lunch if you can do that. You will only be 3ish hours short so if your numbers are a bit short it would be explainable. Waiting for Friday morning would make me nervous that I wouldn't get the results that afternoon and would then have to wait through the weekend.

  • JuliD! How 'bout them Tigers?? My FB feed was going nuts yesterday with the Prince Fielder news.

Oh, ew.  That would be pretty awful.
