Re: Babies and bumps (to-be)
So, IUI #1 is done! I just got back from the doctor and everything went well. I had an u/s on Tuesday and there looked to be 3 pretty good follies that could mature, had my trigger shot yesterday and the IUI today. My dr seems to be pretty positive about our ability to concieve, since everything seems to indicate we're a fertile couple. I just hope it works.
Can I please have some vibes, juju, baby dust, etc. that this is it for us? I'm feeling optimistic, but am afraid I'm just setting myself up for a big disappointment.

Things are going well! Today marks the start of the 3rd tri which is just redonkulous.
Bump pic from yesterday:
Looking at this next to last weeks, I think the bump might have moved up a bit? No idea. It's rounding out some now, but there's still a dent where my belly button is (which is still nicely an innie).
Sleep is good and bad. Most nights I'm up at least twice to pee. Some more, some less (last night was only once, which was awesome!).
Right now we're trying to decide if we're going to do maternity pics. I really want to, but Derek is hesitant because of the cost. At the very least there WILL be newborn pictures.
Nursery paint will be bought this weekend, hopefully I can get things painted next week!
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Lots and lots and lots and lots of vibes and juju and fertility dust and alllll that stuff! GL! How long till testing?
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Sending along lots of baby jujus for you sushi. That's super exciting!
We may have finally figured out a bedtime situation that works. I've been doing a pretty good routine once I get home until Jackson goes to bed. He gave us 12 hours last night, and I couldnt' be happier, especially since it coincided with our normal wake-up time. He did 11 hours the night before, so I think this might be it. I just hope it's not another fluke like we've seen when we've changed it up before. FX.
We went to the doc yesterday for his 6 month appointment. 16 lbs., 25 inches, and a giant dome. haha. It puts him in the 25th% for weight, 2% for height, and his head is in the 95th%. Thanks DH for that gene. Really? I also think we're switching docs. I wasn't a fan of their cleanliness practices, and it seems like they just have way too many patients to stay on top of things. Plus, they're not very flexible with us on how we want to raise our child. He's already eating solids, so for you to tell me it's okay to start cereal now is a bust. I just want them to advance along with us, not hold us back. 3 months before he needs another appointment, so we should have plenty of time to ask around.
For your viewing pleasure, here's some bub love.
Good luck Sushi! Fx crossed for you.
Things here are pretty good. I'm now 13w5days. We got the results of the first tri scan on Tuesday, and we're officially telling people. The head of my dept at work is out until Friday, so no coming out at work until then. I want to tell him soon though because he's leaving for an entire month on vaca in February. I'm super nervous about telling him and can't wait to get this part over with.
Unfortunately the ms has stuck around, but I'm hopeful that it's almost over. Aside from that, we're starting to plan a vacation, aka baby moon.
Sushi - Good luck, I am praying this is it for you!!! Lots and lots of baby ju ju.
Raynes - you look fabulous, and look a little higher.
Zach did great with STTN last week, but the past 4 nights, not so much. He ended up in bed with me at 3 this morning, I couldn't take it anymore. Ugh. I think he is finally starting to say a couple of words. I swear he said "ya" the other night when I asked him if he was all done. I may or may not have shed a tear or two.
Christian, well he is no different. FULL of energy and pushing mommy's buttons. He is saying "Thank you" now, and if you say it, he also repeats it. He almost has "Welcome' for your welcome.
Why do they have to grow up so fast?
I'm still in my pajamas right now so new new bump picture but here is one I took on Monday...
Things are going well over here. Sleeping pretty well except for the other night when I had a really bad headache. I've never been a good sleeper, so getting up 2-3 times to pee isn't anything new for me.
This weekend DH and FIL are going to get the crib and changing table put together. They are also going to get the glider and ottoman put together. My aunt dropped it off as an early shower gift the other day. The baby's room is currently our guestroom and only had a bed in it but the cats lay on and under it ALL the time so we've just pushed the bed to one side for now, will put the crib in and then transition the bed out in a couple of months and then the cats won't be allowed in. I hope this doesn't cause problems.
I have a friend who takes pictures and she has offered to do maternity pictures for us for free to help build up her portfolio and I just have to give her feedback about the pictures. I really want maternity pictures but they are expensive and this will hopefully be a good compromise.
Thanks for the wishes all!
I'm not sure about testing yet. I may test when we get back from the Maldives, but that will only be 10 dpo, so could be too early. I hate seeing a BFN, so would like to wait as long as possible. My LP is usually around 15 days, so I may just wait it out until 16 dpo (Feb 12).

Sushi- sending tons and tons of vibes your way. When do you have to go back?
Nothing really new with my boys!
P is getting rid of a cold and just as loud and full of energy as he always has been. Jordan's bday is coming up next month and it makes me sad he will be 7. I feel like we are getting close to the double digits....and I am NOT ready for that.
Sushi - good luck and I am sending baby vibes your way!
Today we are officially half-baked and I felt the first kick yesterday! I have been feeling flutters and other movement for a few days, but yesterday was the first time I can say that I am sure it was the LO!
Our a/s is on Feb. 6th and I am anxious to see the baby again and make sure everything is okay with the baby. Plus I am excited to find out if it is a boy or girl.
Good luck sushi!
sushi - sending tons of juju and vibes your way!
we had our first appointment this morning and it went great. I was kind of preparing myself for disappointment for some reason (pessimist alert), but was pleasantly surprised to see a wiggly little gummy bear on the screen. shim was moving all around, waving little nubby arms, and is measuring on schedule.
oh, and more importantly - I got the thumbs up on eating Maryland Blue Crabs this summer (as long as they're fully cooked, of course).
here is little gummy bear this week:
because we have some family history that could result in inherited genetic disorders, we're opting to do the NT scan in a few weeks, and then I'll have another appt at the end of February. I've also got to give my GP a call to transition from Lexapro to Zoloft.

sushi, I'll be sending a ton of vibes your way! FX that this is your month!
Parker is getting her top molars and I don't wish teething on my worst enemy. Poor thing is in so much pain and the lack of sleep in my house has all of us so worn down. On a more positive note, she loves when we sing the classic toddler song to her--Itsy Bitsy Spider, Bringing Home Baby Bumblebee, etc. She knows the hand motions to the songs so it makes it super fun
I'm 5w now and have no pregnancy symptoms other than being thirsty all the time so of course that has me all worried. I've never wanted m/s so bad in my entire life lol. As crazy as I know this sounds, just a little reassurance would be nice. I haven't called my MW yet, but my first appointment will be around 8w. Eek!
Good luck sushi! I have everything crossed for you.
I love all the bump and baby pictures this morning too!
I'm 4dpo today, so just waiting and hoping for a little October pumpkin. I feel like we had good timing this cycle and I tried a few different things this time as well so I'm feeling a little more optimistic then several past cycles.
Sushi - TONS and TONS of dust/vibes whatever coming your way! Enjoy the trip!
Skyejo - our friends had a daughter in October 2010 as well and a few wks ago when we were visiting we were doing Itsy Bitsy Spider, it was the CUTEST thing! Love it!
Things are good here. A is doing well, moving, growing on track. I have a dislocated rib which even though they tried to put back is still really bothering me, so I think it's still sitting on the nerve (its where the rib connects to my spine). It keeps me up a lot of nights and pretty uncomfortable if I'm sitting all day at my desk chair. Thinking about asking my boss if I can do a day or two a week from home, just so I can change my position throughout the week. I'm usually better on mondays and worse on fridays. However, if this all I have to deal with to keep her healthy and baking, then I don't care if 3 more slip out!
I started my 6th month this week and am just really looking forward to Monday since it's V-Day.

Good morning!
sushi, lots and lots of sticky baby dust for you!! Keep us posted.
raynes, rxbeth and ECHC, the bumps are adorable!
Darian's been keeping me on my toes this morning, but he's napping now.
We've been ramping up the solids and he's been doing pretty good. He needs a few days to get used to most things but he's only really hated banana so far. We've done rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potato, sweet peas, and avocado. Carrots are next, then applesauce. This stage is a lot of fun.
At swimming class on Tuesday, he hated wearing the lifejacket. Little daredevil.
He's been extra fussy lately, which I think was a residual effect from his shots over a week ago, and maybe teething. He's been sleeping OK though - usually one night feeding, sometimes two. If he has a second night feeding, I usually let him sleep in our bed after that. V really likes waking up next to him
Check this out. When he was 2 weeks old, we did a newborn shoot and got this pic of him in a laundry basket:
Look at him in the same basket now!
New moms - I'd highly recommend taking a few reference pics when they are itty bitty so you can compare in a few months! Carseats are good, pics with stuffed animals, cribs or bassinets etc.

Bailey and sushi - sending lots of vibes your way that this is it for you.
I'm loving the bump pictures. You ladies look so adorable.
Olivia is 9 months old now. On Tuesday she started standing up on her own. It was pretty unexpected especially because she's not really crawling yet but still fun to see. I think I shared that she waves hi and bye now which is amazing because my taught her that just over the last few weeks and she's already picked up on when to do it. Other than that things are going well, she's continuing to STTN and we're elated about that. She has her 9 month checkup next week so we'll see how she's doing though I have no doubt she is healthy and thriving.
Hi all! Love to see all the squishy faces on here.
Emmett is doing well. We went through 2 weeks of hell with a virus and teething. He's finally back to himself which is amazing! It's crazy how fast I forgot that he can be a pleasant, happy little man.
He's been down to one nap for awhile, but recently he's pushing it further back. Yesterday was no nap. I seriously might freak out if he decides to no longer nap. Those two or three hours are definitely needed for me to work and clean.
He will be 19 months a week from today! He only has 7 teeth. His entire mouth is swollen but those dang teeth won't come through. And he's not talking yet. He'll say a word here or there, but mainly he points and talk gibberish.
And now he's pounding on the computer which is my cue to leave.
Good Luck Sushi!
Edmund will be 9 months on Monday. He is right where he should be height and weight wise according to the doctors at Children's. His 9 month appointment is Wednesday.
We were at Seattle Children's for 5 hours on Monday. He had to have a hearing test done to see whether or not he would need tubes but in. Well he barely passed the hearing test. There is fluid in the middle ear which is causing his eardrums to not function properly. He can't hear higher pitches and what he does hear sounds like he is hearing it from underwater.
So now we are waiting on the surgery schedulers from both the otolaryngology and craniofacial departments to coordinate a day and time that works for them so that we can get Edmund's surgery on the schedule and then pray that he doesn't get sick.
We also met with the speech pathologist to start talking about what we will need to do in the way of speech therapy. Since his palate is open there are certain sounds that he can't form and we will need to work with him to get him to be able to do them.
I'm just ready for this stage to be over.
FX and vibes headed your way.

Sushi--TONS of vibes coming your way!
Nothing new here. I'm still feeling sick most evenings, which makes dinner an odd mismatch of foods--bagels have been my go-to lately and means that I am getting no exercise right now. Hoping that clears up a bit soon. Other than that, I feel good. I am super nervous about my appointment on Tuesday for my NT scan--I am hoping everything looks good but am also scared that something will be wrong. Nothing I can do either way until then though, so I am trying not to think about it much. If everything looks good though, we will start to tell a few more friends, and that will be exciting and make everything feel a little more real.
