Chit Chat Thursday?

I like both of those but I think the black would be better.  That nude under black lace always look good but I think you need the right kind of skin color to pull off nude.  Beige/brown do nothing for me.  BBL, are you thinking about getting the other dress to wear to Wendi's wedding?  I don't want to get someone else's dress and then have a cat fight at the wedding.  LOL.

ETA:  have you bought any of the Forever 21 dresses before?  I'm scared that they're a little young for me and, since I can't try it on, I'd worry about the fit.

  • BL,  I like the first one.  I don't like Forever21--I think their stuff is crap.  It's so cheaply made and nothing ever hangs right.

Every cocktail dress I have is black. I need a new one.

Bri, I think that dress is fine.  Julie I really like that beaded neck one.

    I need a nap.

  • Oh oh oh, I have an AW.  I decorated my Kitchenaid last night with peel & stick vinyl.  It's so fun now.  The pink is actually a lot darker than it looks here - kind of a raspberry color.

  • This is fun chit chat today! Loving all the dresses!

Angie, the decals are super de duper cute!  I want to get some scrolly decals for mine!  Just not sure what color.  My mixer is the breast cancer pink one.

  • Angie,

We got red to go with the decor in our kitchen (and, of course, you know it's my signature color now) but that's really cute.

  • I am loving all the dresses.  I'm hoping I will have an excuse to go shopping after Caroline is here.  So far I'm measuring smaller around in my arms and legs so I'm hoping my waist gets a little smaller too and I can then go shopping!

I love the mixer.  Very cute and makes baking even more fun.

I didn't want to "baby" up this thread but if anyone cares what the doctor said yesterday I updated baby Wednesday.

Deepthi I'm tired too and I had fun even though they lost but I wish we had played better the 2nd half.  I also wish Barea played just I could see him play live again.  The rings were insanly large!  There is no missing those suckers!  Hope Dirk comes back soon because Odom is trying too hard to fill his shoes and it's just not working!

Is this light pink or the bright sparkly dark pink?

  • I actually made the decal myself - you can buy them for like $15 online, but I paid about $3-4 for the vinyl, and then cut it on my handy dandy Silhouette machine.  If anyone wanted one, they could buy/order some vinyl (I have a good website) & I'd cut it for you.  I don't have any scrolly designs in my library though - you have to buy those, and I'm too cheap so far.

Odom was a joke last night. He was just terrible. I loved seeing Yi play though. I think he did a really good job. We were also getting screwed on the fouls. They could have tackled our players and nothing would be called. If we even looked like we were going to touch them then oh it must be a technical foul.

BL - I like the first dress too.

Stephanie - have you thought about a blue dress? I think a bright blue would look great on you.

  • Julie, I was thinking of the dress barn one for either my work thing or Wendi's wedding.  I wasnt sure yet, as long as I can find 2 dresses I like then I can just wear that one to the work thing, if I cant then we might have on the same dress but no cat fight, lol.  I am going shopping this weekend so I will let you know.

I have never gotten anything from the forever 21 plus size but I figure for 20 bucks it might be worth a try.

    Oooh, lookie--only $20!

    Very pretty!

Can I ask a question since we are talking about shopping. If you had to buy a formal dress some where. I mean like long, fancy, and a step up from prom where would you go?

  • It's taking every ounce of patience I have not to go off on some of my kids today.

All I've heard the last couple of days are "This is hard.", "I can't do this.", "Why do we have to write so much?" I just want to reply with "SHUT UP AND GET TO WORK, FOOL!" Alas, I can't. Someone come teach writing for me please.

  • Deepthi, I have one long black evening gown and I think I got it at JC Penney.  I usually like department stores for that kind of thing.

    Nordstroms. I love that store!

    LOL.

    Deepthi,

Nordstrom's has great dresses and they're not completely unreasonable.  After that, I go to Dillard's.

I own that dress! I wore it to my company Christmas Party.  If you want to borrow it, let me know.  I have it in a size 6.  :)

  • I'm about to baby this up, and I'm sorry.

I had my f/u appt yesterday after my D&C (two weeks ago).  Well, the doctor said that everything with me looked totally normal and there was nothing wrong with the baby that they could find in their tests (and I can't decide if that makes it worse or better... and we will never have an answer as to what went wrong).  My doctor told me to wait one cycle before TTC again, but everyone on TB says there's nothing medically wrong or nothing that poses a greater risk, if we start TTC immediately.  My gut says to wait, and follow doctor's orders, obviously.  But has anyone had or heard of sucesses getting KTFU immediately after a miscarriage?

I don't know either way... but, I'd listen to your gut.  I am a firm believer that we get those gut feelings for a reason, and when I ignore mine I tend to regret it.

I'm with Angie on listening to your gut.

I know on our month board we have a lot of girls who are pregnant after a m/c and so far they've been doing well. You could always ask on one of the 0-3month or those boards if you wanted people who delivered after a m/c.

It is this one.  It matches nothing in my kitchen, but it was a gift a long time ago.  I thought about doing some maybe white scrolls or damask prints.

@Angie, that's cool that you can make your own and that'll you make them for us.  I might take you up on that!

@Brianna, I second everyone.  Trust yourself.  Only you know when...

  • Trust your gut.

    Co-signed,

    Julie

  • I ask this as a rhetorical question: are you ready to start trying again now?

    Always trust your gut.

  • Julie - I LOVE that dress you posted with the beaded neck!!

Briana - (1)  I don't think that dress has too much white in it at all.  I like it! (2)  Listen to your gut.  No one knows your body better than yourself.

BL - I'm going to be the minority here and say I like the Forever21 dress.  Those pleats on the first dress just remind me of an old lady (no offense anyone) and I'm on a lace kick lately.  BUT I do agree that some things from Forever21 are made cheaply and I would like to try on a dress before buying it.

Angie - your mixer looks so freakin cute!!

Amanda - I saw a tiffany blue mixer with a black damask print on it on Pinterest.  I'm sure it's on one of my boards.  I think it would look great on your pink mixer!

Whew...I hope that's everyone!  I'm feeling much better today.  I'm ready to get lots of work done.  I'm halfway to being caught up (for now) so I can hopefully put my notice in soon!

  • So, I didn't know what a D&C was and I looked it up, and I would think the reason they tell you to wait is to make sure your uterus is healed after the procedure?  So that an egg could implant maybe?

I think if you're tracking your cycle it would be good to wait until the next one starts so you know the best times to TTC.

And I agree with everyone else -- trust your gut.

  • Brianna, I also say trust your gut.  My sister had a m/c and was told she was able to try again the next cycle also.  They decided not to try again but like I said she was also told to wait a cycle.

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Haha... thanks everyone.  I figure that I should trust my gut and just wait it out.

(I almost typed 'trust my butt'.. and I giggled out loud)

Who wants to talk about dresses again?  :)

  • HAHA Brianna!!

So since you brought it up... what kind of shoes do you wear with this dress?  I pinned it a couple days ago on Pinterest.

    SEQUINED 2-IN-1 TANK DRESS

  • Amanda -

My vote would be either something shiny and colored (like patent leather) or something nude.  I don't know if I'm an expert, though...  I ask my husband for fashion advice.

  • The sun is finally out!!  Weeeee...I think I will going on a walk when I get home.

After 2 years of being married, we are still not considered a 'social unit' by certain people.  Oh well.  Their loss.  And I'm still finding things that I have not changed my name on.
