Re: TGIF
Aww Charity. I understand it though. I'm from here, but I was adament about getting away from here. I wanted more excitement, better weather and all that jazz. Now it's whatever. If we are lifers, that's fine. It'll just make vacations even more special.
Today is a co-worker's last day. Normally, we do a potluck when wishing someone farewell.
No one is doing anthing for this girl. I kind of feel bad for her.
YAY!
Dup
Potty training has officially begun. I got this email from daycare today:
"Tennyson was dry all morning and I just put him on the potty and he went. He is so excited! Small step but we are celebrating!"
Hehe. Yay, go T.
Yup, I posted about it yesterday afternoon.
I have never heard of Hello West Michigan. How did we ladies overlook at that site.
Question for everyone - the first picture in the slideshow (the building with the banners that says Gilmore) - where is that. Is that in Kzoo?
Everyone I've known that grew up on the East side and came to the West side loves it!!!
Sorry I forgot lol
1. My first 18 years were in GR. I moved to Milwaukee for school and stayed for work. Moved to Chicago for work. Mike (who also spent his first 18 years in GR) and I moved back here for a job opportunity for Mike about 3 years ago. We both lived on the Westside when we were growing up and now we live in Eastown.
2. Moving back here from Chicago was a big change. Grand Rapids is quite a bit smaller and more conservative. Chicago has a lot to offer, but when you live there you get to the point were you don't really utilize the city. We settled in an area of GR that encourages us to enjoy the city and all it has to offer. Which is really a lot! It is easy to get around and there are many smaller areas to enjoy. We are very happy to be back.
3. Both of our families are here and we love the seasons. I can't see leaving West Michigan. This is home to us and we have already lived elsewhere. It really is dependent upon work, though.
You have an exciting year ahead of you, BnG. Enjoy it!
Yay! Enjoy!
Yeah - I like this line of thinking.
Wow! Go, T, go.
Henry has not been showing signs of being ready for this step. I am fully anticipating 2 in diapers at once.
Hehe. Fun times!
Warning TMI:
T is very vocal about when he goes. For instance, he always tells me when he goes #2, either during or right after. Ha! I think I'm lucky in that T goes to daycare with a boy that is about 4 months older than him. He watches and wants to do everything that Bradley does. Lucky me.
20 years. (Wow! Never really thought about that before.)
It was a big change for my 11-year-old self. I hated Grand Rapids for a long time because it took me away from my home. The winters were dull and everyone cheered for the Tigers. But slowly, as I became an adult, this became home in a way that Minneapolis never was. I've never lived anywhere else as an adult, so I think that has a big impact on my way of thinking.
Live here forever? Some days I think no, that will never happen - and some days I think it will probably end up being forever. I will say that if we do end up moving away, it won't be because we hate it here - it would only be for better job opportunities.
