Harro

Anyone hanging around tonight?  I have wine, and my PJ's, and cozy socks, and my couch.  I love Fridays!

Re: Harro

  • I'm here for about 30 more minutes, I've already had too much wine.  I'm worried about my dog he had a vaccine tonight and now he's limping, I thought he was just sore but my H says he had trouble jumping up on the couch earlier today, so now I'm worried.

  • that must have been one helluva shot!  Poor Riley

    Hola Fallin!

  • I'm working for awhile before my friends get here. Bo-ring.

  • Pffft, only losers work on Friday evenings.  (I'm working as we speak)

Hey Noisy, while you're here...how hard would it be for me to make one of these?  Please take into consideration my sewing skills are approximately zero.  Possibly even less than that, if that's even imaginable.

  • I'm here. I'm watching 20/20 for the first time in probably 15 years.
    We, we like to party.
  • I'm here. Praising whatever Gods thought up Green Giant steamed vegetable packets and bacon salt (probably not the same person, but it would make my head explode if it was).

  • Hi. I miss you. I want you to know that every time I am running and Imma Be comes up on my playlist, I picture you dancing and it makes me giggle. It's a huge pick me up.

I just put Connor to bed. The kid is getting crafty at prolonging bedtime by telling me he wants to read the bedtime story to me after I read it to him (his rendition is typically pretty adorable and hilarious so he wins).

    Hello there.

We just watched Black Swan and I wish I had those 2 hours back. What a shiitty movie.

  • That looks like it wouldn't be too hard - just a bunch of straight lines. I don't have any idea how much the filling she used costs, but the minky fabric can be in the teens, pricewise. But if you go to Joann or one of the other stores that gives away 40% off coupons all the time you could find it for less, I'm sure.

  • I'd have a hard time saying no to that too, Wendy.  He's a crafty one

I have something almost identical to that lap pad in my classroom, and I use it all day every day for one student.  I have a thick piece of ribbon wrapped around it with velcro and I switch out various toys for her to manipulate on her lap while she has to be confined to her wheelchair for tubefeedings and whatnot.  Her motor skills and hand grasp have grown in leaps and bounds because of it, it's truly amazing.  The one I have is actually divided into 3 sections.

Anyhooo...I need another one for a second student I have with the same situation, to see if I can get him interested in using his hands more.  I was trying to decide if it'd be easier/cheaper to just order one already made or attempt to make one myself.

    My life is hard, yo

  • Could I fill it with beans or rice or some other weight-y type stuff?  Maybe if I make the cover removable so it can be washed
  • Herroooooo. I'm here, pleased it's Friday, watching Monday's Alcatraz. I'm pretty excited to take TWO tylenol PMs and sleep in a bit tomorrow. I've been waking up at 5:30 or 6 and haven't been able to stay in bed past 7 in a couple of weeks and it blooooows. I miss sleep.

  • Sleep is one of my most favoritest things in the whole world.  I still wake up at my normal weekday time even on the weekends, but it's the most awesome feeling when I realize it's Saturday or Sunday and I roll back over and sleep for 3-4 more hours.  Enjoy your Tylenol PM slumber!

  • I just typed out a really long response and deleted it because it was too full of suck.

Shamwow, love, do we have official March dates for NOLA yet?

  • You can share the suck, Buddha. That's what we're here for.

  • Come to my bosom, Zen Cheese.  We haven't officially booked anything, but it would be during our spring break, which is sometime in the vicinity between March 10-17 for traveling purposes.

Tiny is my cup of tea.  It would depend on a number of things, but I'd love to if I'm welcome and can.

    I may be hyperventilating

  • Of COURSE you're welcome!  I think we'd most likely be there for the beginning portion of that week, like a 4 day 3 night kind of thing

Eh. The short version goes as follows:

I went to visit my grandmother today. She's doing well, but my aunt and uncle pulled me to the side to tell me their plans to try to convince my grandparents to sell and get a smaller house. My grandad cried when he thanked me for coming. Then, my dad told me some more depressing stuff about my mom. Then, we got a call from MIL about making hospice plans for FIL, so I am currently drinking wine and pretending that I'm 14 and not required to be responsible for anyone else.

I feel like I'm never anything but a debbie downer 'round these parts anymore.

  • Oof, that's a lot all at once.  I'm so sorry, Buddha

    Yay!

    image
  • That is a giant pile of suck. I think you need to watch a cheesy movie while you have your wine.
    I'm jealous of your gtg.

    image

  • I'm absolutely seething with jealousy at the shamwow/Buddha/fallin meetup.

Im sorry you got so much bad news at once Buddha, but really you aren't responsible for any of those things/people. I know it's hard to remind yourself of that, but you really aren't. They affect you and you care about the effect these decisions have on people you love, but it really isn't on your shoulders. I offer my Internet hugs too, lady.

  • Aw, Buddha, I'm sorry. That is a lot of suck.

I woke up today with a broken furnace. That was fun to get taken care of. I may or may not have called my mommy to come hold my hand while I figured it out. And then figured it out while she was on her way here.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
