Re: I'm seeing a lot of new SNs

  • I'm Fancy.  DH is AD USAF and we're stationed in CO for just a few more months and then we're headed to NC.  We've been married 4 and a half years and our twins are a little over 10 months old.  I work in an accounting firm, but will be a sahm in TWO days.

  • I'm D, or on MB it's usually Beach or Beachy.  H is AD Navy and has been in for almost 10 years.  We (I) just PCS'ed to VA after being in WA for about a year and a half, and we bought a house here.  H is currently deployed and will be joining me here after (although later than expected now).  I have a Masters in teaching PE and Health, but with 2 cross country moves in less than 2 years I haven't been teaching in a while.  I work for a travel health company right now and am hoping to start teaching again soon.  We have no kids yet but plan to start trying when he gets home.  We have 2 Boston Terrier's though who are in my sig.

In my defense, I had a longer intro typed out and it was DDd. This was the gist of it. :)

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • That's the gist of everything with you!

Hi, I'm Calindi.  I hang out on MB, but I've lurked over here occasionally and posted once or twice.  I'm getting married in September to my wonderful guy after being together 4 years, he's a 1st Lt in the USMC and a soon-to-be lawyer who is graduating in May, taking the bar in July, and going AD in August as a JAG.  I currently work in recruiting, but it sucks to lie to people every day, so I'm working on building my own graphic design biz  and plan to write a novel once he goes AD (I've got about 40 pages of outlining done, so I've got to flesh it out, edit like crazy, and find someone dumb enough to publish my junk).

  • Well shoot, mine was DD'd as well.  I'm Kristen; I work and volunteer part-time.  H is AD AF.  We're currently in MS, impatiently awaiting the PCS that's coming up.  We have a 1.5 year old dog who is huge but our baby nonetheless.  Welcome everyone!
  • How/why did so many responses get deleted? I don't get it. . . .

I'm Marni. I'm one of the "old ladies" on the board, but I am young in spirit. I am a SAHM to our 2.5 year old son (and our Boston Terrier, Smudge). We move frequently. Our next PCS is in six weeks to Germany. We will be moving into house number seven in our 5.5 years of marriage. One would think we'd have this down to a science by this point, but we don't. Oy. DH is Army EOD and has been in for 16 years.

Welcome to the lurkers and new posters!

  • Hi and Welcome to the lurkers and new posters! I'm A, DH is E he separated from the Marine Corps almost 3 years ago after being in for 5 years. We live in NorCal with our 2 mini doxies and 1 cat. No babies yet. I'm an optician but have a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and I'm in the process of applying for a different job hopefully to use my degree a bit. I'm toying with the idea of going to grad school but the cost scares me. E works for a civilian company that contracts to build radio wave tubes for the AF and several other civilian companies and is currently in school to become an Engineer.

  • I just realized my intro post fell victim to the DD.

I'm Sam, DH is AD Navy.  I'm applying to be an Officer in the Marine Corps.  My dogs are in my siggy.  They rock.

  • I'm Mrs. Aggie or Aggie, whichever you choose. H and I's first anniversary is in just over a month but we've been together for 3.5 years. He deployed about 2 months after we got married but made it home for the holidays :) H is AD Army and has been in for 7 years. We met in college and I'm about to graduate from nursing school in May. I'm hoping to find a job in the neonatal intensive care unit.

  • Hi!  I really need to post more instead of lurking :)  Anyways, my name is Stephanie.  I'm 26.  DH is Army Reserves.  We've been married 4 years and we live in Northern CA.  I have a degree in geology and somehow ended up doing admin work for the state (go figure) and DH works for a local grocery chain.  We have one kitty named Fergus.

I def lurk here often, but learn so much from doing so, thank you to all the gold posters who give me something to read after midnight!

  • HA~ I had no idea that TX has become the mod...

I am AMN - I serve w/in the USAR and was deployed to GTMO, I have about 10 years in service. I have not been called to I/A but would go willingly. My H is AD Navy. He and I have 3 beautiful kids (BD, L and K)

I encourage you to ask questions, WONDER how to be the BEST MIL SPOUSE you can be (ohh boy Army advertising rearing its ugly head)... however I will remind you that you do NOT wear the uniform of your loved one. RESPECT the difference between being IN the military and being MARRIED to it.

There is a GREAT deal of info and experience on this board. I hope you'll tap into it.

ps yep... we also have a dog and we will NEVER have a  cat.

  • Hey Y'all!  I'm Hilly.  My H is AD USMC and I SAH with our 2 your old DD.  We are expecting our second around September!  We've been in Japan for a little over a year, so that's why my posts are always late/ few and far between.

    I'm a Texan.

  • I'm Lulu, and I've been lurking and posting occasionally here and on MB. There are lots of things I don't feel qualfied to give advice on: never been through a deployment, and am only (slightly) familiar with the O side of one branch, so a lot of things don't apply :) I've been married about a year and half, and we're expecting our first baby any day now. My H is a first tour AD USMC JAG, and we've been learning a lot as we go. We've moved around quite a bit since he joined for all the trainings and such he went through, and have been through 1 PCS move. It's been nice to sit still for a few months, and we hopeit it stays this way for awhile!

Does Chrome not let me bold? Boo. Anyway, my degrees are MCB as well, very cool! Grad school was very expensive, but completely worth it in the field I'm in.  I'm in the process of job hunting again though without knowing where we're going, it's a little tough! Good luck to you!

  • I'm C; I work as an art director for a non-profit. K is ARNG now with 4 years of Navy and about 10 yrs. AD Army under his belt and has been ARNG for about the last 5-6 years? I lost count exactly of how many years where but you get the gist. We'll have been married 3 years come May and are expecting a DS at the end of March, and I have an 8 y.o. DD from a previous relationship. Plus the pooch, Jake, rounds out our happy little family.

  • Hi, I'm Mel. I usually lurk, but not too often. DH is USMCR and was just activated and deployed. We've been married for 5 years and have 3 children who are 13 (my daughter from a previous relationship), 4, and 16 months. This is the first time he's been deployed since we've been together, so it's been a tough adjustment. I work FT as an occupational therapist at a private school for children with special needs.
  • Hi, I mostly lurk and post on MM sometimes.  H is AD Navy and currently deployed but will be home VERY soon! We have a 2 year old and two crazy tiny dogs.  We are stationed in WA, in the town I am from.  I used to work for the county, and have a degree in law and justice, but now I am just enjoying the SAHM thing for a bit.
  • Hi, I figured I'd say hello, I've been lurking and I said hi a few months ago.

I'm not married to military, but awaiting BCT for AD Army (leave in about 4 months). DH and I split a few months ago so it's just me. I've already found a ton of info thanks to you ladies!

Oh and I have a furry LO, a kitty named Thumbs but she's being adopted by her Aunt while I'm gone. ;)

  • Hi everyone, old and new! I used to post more frequently but mostly lurk on my breaks at work these days. My H is Navy and currently off in the desert somewhere, and I work as a retail supervisor (not my dream job in the least). We have one super cute dog who keeps me busy as well. He's turning a year old next week (well, that's the estimate).
  • Hey! I'm Katie, my husband is Craig. We will celebrate our 3 yr anniversary in October. He graduated in 2008 from the naval academy and is currently a ltjg on a submarine. I graduated in 2008 from Florida state and am working in banking.

We are waiting on kids til he's done deploying, so for now we have a one year old puppy named Charlie (a cavalier king Charles spaniel)
